Amber Liu in Concert
A California native, Amber Liu was discovered at the age of 15 at SM Entertainment's global auditions in Los Angeles. Following a move to South Korea, she debuted in 2009 as a member of the female group f(x). The record-breaking electro-pop-based K-pop group quickly became one of the industry's most popular and award-winning. In 2013, the group became the first K-pop act to perform at SXSW, with the New York Times' Jon Pareles calling their performance "impeccable." f(x)'s 2013 album ‘Pink Tape' was called "one of the best Asian pop albums of all-time," by Pitchfork and charted #1 on Billboards K-Pop Hot 100 and World Album charts.In 2015, Amber's first solo release, the critically acclaimed album "Beautiful", debuted at #2 on Billboard's World Albums chart, with the title track's music video, released the same day, garnering more than 1 million YouTube views in its first day of release. She has also made a career on television and film, hosting several variety and travel shows in South Korea, and will star in the American indie film The Eagle and the Albatross in 2020.

Meg & Dia were amazing, as expected, but I was so impressed with Amber's performance! This was a really great show and Amber is such an incredible person. LOVED every second and would happily see her (and Meg & Dia) again.

Other than the cold weather and having to stand in line(I have trouble standing due to severe neurothopy in my lower legs and feet), we had an amazing experience.

by A Cute Friend on 1/31/20Varsity Theater - MinneapolisAmber is an artist whom I have admired for many years so I decided to splurge and purchase a Meet and Greet Ticket. It would have been nicer to know earlier than two days before if the meet and greet was before or after the concert in order to communicate earlier with my job. It was my first time going to an event at Varsity Theater so when the person at the booth told me to wait in line for my pass I ended up standing in the wrong line. After I realized my error the night was smooth sailing but it would have been nice if the worker had specified which line to stand in. The Varsity Staff inside did a good job communicating and were helpful and well organized on where to go to stand in line for purchasing merchandise, the meet and greet, restrooms, and coat check. Being able to give Amber a hug, take pictures and give her a note was worth the cost to me of the Meet and Greet ticket. I also received a drawstring bag with the meet and greet but I do wish that the string was of better quality as it caught on the bag and is now tattered. Concert itself was fantastic. The opening acts Justice Carradine and Meg & Dia were a good fit stylistically and did a good job of warming up the audience with the audience asking the latter artist to perform another song. Amber was her exceptional self singing, dancing, and being personable as she was both light-hearted and serious. The audience was also great as you could tell they all cared for and appreciated Amber. Remember: You are not alone. You are beautiful. Breathe and stay calm. Gotta catch em all!

From the meet and greet (Amber, I love you!!) to the opening acts (who I didn't know but performed wonderfully) to Amber, who is such a great all around performer! Her voice! Her songs! The dancing was really good and complemented the songs (shout out to the talented backup dancers). And Amber's comments in between were relevant and necessary. It was a concert where everyone onstage connected well with the fans. An entire experience. Also, best encore ever lol. Loved it! Still thinking a lot about that concert. Thank you Amber and crew! And I guess thank you too, Ticketmaster....lol
