About

American sister duo, Aly & AJ Michalka, have carved out a unique space in the entertainment industry with their work in music, television, and film. Starting out as Disney Channel stars, Aly gained fame through the series "Phil of the Future", while AJ made her mark co-starring in "Cow Belles" alongside her sister. Their music career took off with the release of their debut album, "Into the Rush", in 2005, featuring hits like "Rush" and "Chemicals React." Their follow-up album, 2x platinum selling "Insomniatic", included the iconic track "Potential Breakup Song," becoming a defining moment for many fans.

Both sisters continued to build their acting careers, with notable roles in "The Goldbergs" for AJ and "iZombie" for Aly, showcasing their versatility and talent across different mediums. Their acting credits extend across projects as diverse as "Easy A", "Super 8", "Hellcats", "Secretariat", "Schooled" & "The Good Doctor".

After a brief hiatus from music, Aly & AJ started their own record label and returned with a matured sound on their 2017 EP "Ten Years" and continued the evolution by releasing the critically acclaimed album "a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun" in 2021, which VOGUE called "the album of the summer." They made their festival debut at Lollapalooza in 2021, followed by a North American tour that had sold out shows in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston, among others. 2020 saw the resurgence of "Potential Breakup Song," with the song catching fire and becoming one of the top used songs for the year on TIK TOK. The trend resulted in over 2 billion video views and saw participation from fans across the world ranging from world renowned chef - Gordon Ramsey to Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles. In March 2023, they released their highly anticipated follow up "With Love From". The duo supported the album with a global tour that concluded with a sold-out show at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Beyond their professional endeavors, Aly & AJ are known for their advocacy work. They have been vocal supporters of LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness, using their platform to promote positive change while raising over $200,000.00 for The Trevor Project. Aly & AJ have also been fierce advocates of gun control and gun safety, particularly in the aftermath of surviving a mass shooting on tour, choosing to partner with Everytown, March Fourth, and Northwell Health, including a recent meeting with the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention during a visit to Capitol Hill in support of the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban.

In summary, Aly & AJ Michalka have carved out a remarkable career that spans across television, film, music, and business. Their journey from Disney Channel stars to accomplished musicians and actors is a testament to their talent, hard work, and enduring appeal. Their entrepreneurial mindset has helped them successfully release three albums independently, while also building an E-commerce business. With each new project, they continue to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide, solidifying their legacy as influential figures in the entertainment industry.

  • Aly and AJ at the Fox Theater

    by Amanda K on 4/4/23Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

This was an amazing concert. They had good security at the venue that were really helpful. There was also a coat check upstairs. The merch was cute so I bought a shirt and a sweatshirt from them. The opener, Miya Folick, was a perfect choice. She was really emotional and raw. It was a great performance. I only stayed for the first hour of Aly and AJs set, but what I did see was great. They had good energy and interacted with the crowd a lot. Overall it was a great experience.

  • Lots of fun!

by Lara on 4/3/23Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Went to the Oakland show with my friend - they have a great opener, cool lights for their set, and a fantastic band. They spoke a lot to the audience which was cool since we managed to get close to the stage. They played all the songs I love and added a twist on some of their old ones. Would totally see them again! ❤️

  • best concert EVER

by Jess on 4/2/23Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

Aly and AJ have come so far as artists - seeing them perform was not only a childhood dream come true but an adult dream come true too. Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to!!! Can’t recommend enough!

I loved this concert so much. So far it was my favorite experience of this year. They played so many songs. The setlist was crafted beautifully. The lighting was incredible and I hope to see them again soon!

by R on 8/5/22The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver SpringRating: 5 out of 5

Honestly, a really great experience. The crowd was generally pretty nice and chill. Aly & AJ we’re insanely impressive with their range of talents. They even played us an unreleased song. Really glad I got an opportunity to hear all their music live. Well worth it in my opinion.

  • A+++ for Aly & AJ

by Victoria on 6/16/22The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

The whole concert was such a blast, the venue (Danforth Music Hall) had excellent acoustics and all performers had amazing energy. Their opener, The Brummies, was also absolutely fantastic. It was one of my favourite concert-going experiences of all time. I will definitely be getting tickets if they come to Toronto again!

  • Such nice performers!

I saw them in Toronto with my brother and they were so kind and interactive with the audience. They’re definitely worth it to see live!

  • good but needed more throwbacks

by phlemma on 6/9/22Fillmore Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 4 out of 5

they're great performers and had a fun opening act! however, not playing Rush or Chemicals React was a bit letdown. still a very fun show!

  • Fantastic Show!!

I watched the virtual concert when their latest album dropped, but I'm SO glad I was also able to see them performing live!!! I will definitely be watching out for Aly & AJ to be returning to the Twin Cities!

  • Best Concert!!!

by Naomi Davis on 6/7/22Fillmore Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

It was absolutely amazing and an out of body experience!! They sounded amazing (and are so very talented musically) and looked great and had such a lively and sweet energy!! (Although you could tell they were tired from such a long exhausting tour as it was the last week of their tour) It was worth every cent of my time and money!!! I was even in the front/second row!!! They’re so underrated and deserve way more credit and attention! Would definitely see them again and would highly recommend others go see them!

  • NO throwback songs!

    by B on 6/7/22Fillmore Minneapolis - MinneapolisRating: 3 out of 5

Not sure why but they only performed 2 older songs, yet they had TONS of songs from the past that have hit Top 100 and we all know them and love them. Everyone in the crowded was talking about waiting for their old stuff that never came... They needed more throwbacks since everyone at the concert was Millennials that have been fans since we were kids! Also AJ way out performed Aly. Aly seemed like she didn't want to be there. She felt very distant to the crowd and not interacting. AJ was definitely the show!

  • Very talented aritists

    by Ariana on 6/2/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was organized and clean. The talent was a little late but the show overall was amazing.

  • Amazing Show!

by Julien on 6/1/22The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Got upgraded to VIP upon arrival, staff was friendly. Show was awesome, love this venue! Only downside was no longer accepting cash at the bar and only 1 mens restroom on the 3rd floor. Was a hassle having to trek all the way up and then back down back to the show. And only 3 stalls and 3 urinals when you have a sold out event? No gender neutral restrooms? Not too happy about that. Other than that everything else was great.

  • The Best Way to Spend a Saturday!

by Freeloader on 5/31/22The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I was given free tickets to the Aly and AJ concert through bumble so my only expectation was that the show would be worth the price of parking. I was blown away by how much fun I had at the concert; these two are incredibly talented musicians who use their platform for good and support the LGBTQ community. Aly and AJ aren’t has been of the Radio Disney era….. their stardom will only continue to grow and they’ve earned their fan base in a way other former Disney stars have not. I took a star off because it was extremely loud at the Wiltern and I had a temporary loss of full hearing for twenty minutes after the concert despite being in the back row.

  • Lighting was BAD.

by Vanessa on 5/31/22The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

My only complain was that the lighting was executed very poorly. Through out the show you could barely see them because it was dark opposed to the opening band, who had great lighting. The lighting was very low, behind them. There was no lighting looking directly to them in the front.

  • GREATEST SHOW OF ALL TIME

by Isa on 5/30/22The Observatory North Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

I’ve been to some disastrous shows but this one was pretty solid. There were some issues mid show with drunk guests pushing and starting a commotion but the security were true to their word and handled it pretty quick. Aside from that hiccup, the show and the venue were awesome.

  • A touch of the beat!

by Evan on 5/29/22The Observatory North Park - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

It definitely got us up and on our feet. They put on an amazing show, raised money for charity during the show, the venue was awesome. Opener was a lot of fun. One of the better concerts I’ve been to and Aly and AJ totally bring the energy. Plus — the venue was incredible and there was not a bad spot to be. What a fun, new album to rock out to!
