About
American sister duo, Aly & AJ Michalka, have carved out a unique space in the entertainment industry with their work in music, television, and film. Starting out as Disney Channel stars, Aly gained fame through the series "Phil of the Future", while AJ made her mark co-starring in "Cow Belles" alongside her sister. Their music career took off with the release of their debut album, "Into the Rush", in 2005, featuring hits like "Rush" and "Chemicals React." Their follow-up album, 2x platinum selling "Insomniatic", included the iconic track "Potential Breakup Song," becoming a defining moment for many fans.
Both sisters continued to build their acting careers, with notable roles in "The Goldbergs" for AJ and "iZombie" for Aly, showcasing their versatility and talent across different mediums. Their acting credits extend across projects as diverse as "Easy A", "Super 8", "Hellcats", "Secretariat", "Schooled" & "The Good Doctor".
After a brief hiatus from music, Aly & AJ started their own record label and returned with a matured sound on their 2017 EP "Ten Years" and continued the evolution by releasing the critically acclaimed album "a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun" in 2021, which VOGUE called "the album of the summer." They made their festival debut at Lollapalooza in 2021, followed by a North American tour that had sold out shows in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Boston, among others. 2020 saw the resurgence of "Potential Breakup Song," with the song catching fire and becoming one of the top used songs for the year on TIK TOK. The trend resulted in over 2 billion video views and saw participation from fans across the world ranging from world renowned chef - Gordon Ramsey to Major League Baseball's Baltimore Orioles. In March 2023, they released their highly anticipated follow up "With Love From". The duo supported the album with a global tour that concluded with a sold-out show at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
Beyond their professional endeavors, Aly & AJ are known for their advocacy work. They have been vocal supporters of LGBTQ+ rights and mental health awareness, using their platform to promote positive change while raising over $200,000.00 for The Trevor Project. Aly & AJ have also been fierce advocates of gun control and gun safety, particularly in the aftermath of surviving a mass shooting on tour, choosing to partner with Everytown, March Fourth, and Northwell Health, including a recent meeting with the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention during a visit to Capitol Hill in support of the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban.

A Mixed Bag

She should have had a full band; if not that, then just a keyboard accompanist who didn’t drown her out. The recorded backing music was too loud and sounded muddy. She’s a headliner, and should not have been drowned out by terrible recording. On the other hand, I had never heard of Ali & AJ and their set was fantastic!! The sounded great, worked the audience well, and gave the audience everything they wanted.

All I can say is they have two new fangirls! So energetic and interactive with the audience. They really were phenomenal. The favorite was their story of gun violence and how it affected them. My son also had this experience so I told him about the song as well. I gotta go...about to go download some Aly & AJ to my library! Well done!

by AE on 10/4/23Rating: 5 out of 5The newer songs are incredibly fun, showmanship and crowd interaction great as ever, and they managed to play older hits instead of only PBUS... which the crowd loved. I was shocked and overjoyed to hear Division at all. I even saw them let an autistic kid backstage for pictures and autographs. Their tour bus was late because of a storm, so they gave free merch to the disabled individuals that had to wait outside in the cold for so long. I've seen their concerts many times over the past couple of years and 2023, by far, has been their best year yet.

I walked away from the show with tremendous respect for the duo. Their music is quite good live and has clearly evolved over the years. I would definitely see them again the next time they come to town.

In addition to a great show, they also were just really lovely and caring people during the M&G. I would 10/10 do it again in the future!

We loved the venue- feeling like we were in the woods outside of the city. Combined with the melodic vibes of Aly and AJ, we felt rejuvenated. Moving along to their new hits, their old hits with a makeover, and the cool light show, this is a concert you must see!
