About

Álvaro Díaz on Tour

Puerto Rican rapper Álvaro Díaz keeps things interesting by combining an alternative sound, EDM and hip-hop elements into his music rather than being just a straightforward reggaeton artist.

The prolific artist and songwriter burst onto the scene in 2015 when he released the full-length album, Hato Rey, an homage to the neighborhood in San Juan it was named after and where he grew up.

Further honoring his hometown roots, Díaz's 2021 album, Felicilandia, is a tribute to an amusement park in Puerto Rico where he would have birthday parties as a kid. He told Rolling Stone that he reimagined the park as a place "where sad kids go to find happiness."

A series of successes led to the Gold certification of the single "Problemón," a collaboration with Rauw Alejandro, and as well as for his album Felicilandia. Don't miss the chance to see this rising rap star when he comes to a city near you.

Álvaro Díaz Live in Concert

Raised in Hato Rey, a neighborhood in San Juan, Puerto Rico, once known for its farming and now boasting many thriving businesses and boutiques, Álvaro Díaz discovered he had an affinity for music at a very young age. He grew up listening to music around the house -- his mom would often play gospel songs -- and Díaz would try to write additional rhymes around the lyrics. He later became enamored with Eminem, Kanye West and Kid Cudi and attended a high school where kids would have freestyle battles during lunch. Initially too shy to perform himself, he wrote lyrics for other kids, and eventually became brave enough to perform.

Díaz formed the collective LV CIUDVD with some of his friends, which combined indie music and fashion. Díaz began posting music on SoundCloud, and his single "Chicas de la Isla" gained him a lot of positive attention in 2015.

The prolific artist released several singles over the next few years, including 2017's "Polo Ralph" featuring Yensanjuan, and club hits "West Side" and "OK." Several more full-length albums followed as well as songwriting collaborations with the likes of Rauw Alejandro and Yandel, as well as several notable collaborations on his own records, not the least of which is his acclaimed 2022 album Sayonara.

    “La tiene”

by Angel, bayamonpr on 12/16/22The Bronze Peacock at House of Blues Houston - Houston

I’ve started listening Alvarito’s music since 2016 on SoundCloud since then I’m a fan. And this was my first opportunity to watch him live. I was mind blowed. He is was very fluent and confident, he is a showman. I hope I can see him on bigger venues with bigger crowds in the future. His music is amazing. Really a great experience.

    Too short

by Ly on 12/4/22Gramercy Theatre - New York

I’ve seen Alvarito three times already and I absolutely adore him, and adore his music. However, the concert was only an hour long when we were waiting for two hours for the show to start. I really do wish it would have been a longer set because he has such good music and such a good vibe.

Not much to say only that he needs to book more shows in NYC. 100/10 would go see him again. #AdiosFelicilanfia
