Love Women's Basketball!
by Wilk on 3/10/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - GreensboroRating: 5 out of 5I was blessed to be able to attend two days of the Women's ACC Basketball Tournament in March! Conveniently, I was able to buy two tickets and parking was fine too-not as expensive as I thought it might be. My 83 year old mother went with me for all four games on Friday. My most awesome niece went with me on Saturday. My friend and her 96 year old mother attended Friday and Saturday as well. If you have any influence at all with the TV schedule, PLEASE have them schedule the championship game at 3:00 or 4:00 on Sunday afternoon. 1. Some of us still attend church. I love basketball, but I love worshipping Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior more. From Franklinton, NC, it takes me a good hour or so to get there. I have to record it to see the whole game, but my chair is more comfortable and my snacks are cheaper. 2. "They" would NEVER schedule a men's championship game at noon on a Sunday-so unfair-again.
I have been coming for several years and it's always well organized. Last year was the most meaningful because we weren't allowed to attend regular season games no matter how much we begged the university and were willing to have our brains tickled, temperature taken, masked and distanced to attend a game. Those of us that were willing to risk attendance should've been allowed! I digress, each year is a great experience. Everyone working the gates were polite and friendly. I love Fan Fest, the School Day (great opportunity for children), the DJ and all the crazy games and entertainment. The bathrooms are clean and well-kept. I usually take a lap at halftime and between games and it's very nice for that as well. I typically do not buy much food because of the expense. In the future, I hope there will be more vendors along the ramp or perhaps each university could have a recruiter-for the school, not sports.
