What a great day Saturday! Usually my work schedule allows me to attend 2 or 3 days, but that changed this year, and I could only attend Saturday. I can never attend Sunday's championship because of church. I always record it and forbid anyone to tell me the score while I stay off social media until I get to watch it. Having it at 1:00 this year was better, but if it was at 2:00 or later, I could & would make it to G'boro from Raleigh.
However, everyone was wonderful from parking to ticket staff to having enough folks around to ask questions. Even though our team (NC State) wasn't playing, my 84 year old mother, niece and I had a super time. Actually, it was more relaxing watching it without a "dog in the fight". We picked a team to pull for and just enjoyed those talented athletic women perform. The DJ's antics were fun; the bands always add a lot, and the half time show was good.. Not sure what was up with the floor while I was buying snacks, but I was able to get back to the game without missing anything. Speaking of food, adding the emapnada restaurant was a great idea! I don't love ballgame food typically and always look for something different. We don't drink alcohol, so that was not a factor although there was plenty available and priced high enough, no one was going to get out-of-control from it. At any venue, the food is always priced too high, but we try to budget for it. It is such a luxury that we have enjoyed for many years. If the Fan Fest could stay open longer, even after the games, that would give us more flexibility since we travel in from Raleigh. Thanks for hosting. Hoping to be able to return next year for more than one day.
