About

All the Way is a gripping new play about a pivotal moment in American history and stars three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston ("Breaking Bad”) as President Lyndon B. Johnson.  This drama will take audiences behind the doors of the Oval Office and inside the first years of President Johnson's presidency, and his fight to pass a landmark civil rights bill.  Cranston as President Johnson will lead an ensemble cast playing roles such as Martin Luther King, Jr., J. Edgar Hoover, Hubert Humphrey, Richard Russell, Coretta Scott King, Lady Bird Johnson, Bob Moses and many more.

“Mr. Cranston cuts a vigorous, imposing figure as LBJ in Mr. Schenkkan’s sharply outlined portrait, employing a drawl as wide as a Rio Grande as the new president backstabs his way through the rough waters of a Washington.” -The New York Times

“Bryan Cranston not only lives up to the hype as LBJ, but ALL THE WAY is a sensational night of theater.” -npr

The show begins promptly at the advertised curtain time. Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.

    All the Way was fabulous!

by Saluter on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

The portrayal of LBJ, members of Congress, and leaders of the Civil Rights Movement was outstanding. I recall so much of what happened in 1964 and 1965, but "All the Way" personalized this history, and dramatized it in important ways. The issues of 1964 and 1965 were highlighted, and the production made it clear how the revolutionary (and necessary) changes in civil rights came to be adopted. Bryan Cranston and the other cast members made all of this come alive, and there wasn't a wasted moment! The direction and acting were really terrific, At the end, all I could say was "Wow"!

Bryan Cranston was wonderful in this role. After watching him in all of Braking Bad it was exactly what I expected from him. The rest of the cast was amazing as well.

This play should be seen by everyone in America.

by Sickofnicnames on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

This play is history coming alive. Well done by all actors. The set and production quality is top notch. The leading man is out of this world and his fellow cast mates match his enthusiast way of telling this incredible story. The LBJ story will never be the sane to me now that I have witnessed this play.

    All the Way

by chelsea70 on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Wonderful history lesson with solid acting! Although 3 hours, it did not feel that way. Brings tear to my eye to think what could have happenned if the Civil Rights bill of 1964 was not passed.

    A Solid Production

by TheaterLoverMA on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Well done. Amazing? No, but very well done. The pacing of the first act left me breathless; I longed for some white space to absorb the onslaught of historical information delivered through dialogue, frankly. But the second act delivered. Cranston did a very good job and so did a number of other actors on stage. Notable, to me, were performances by John McMartin, Brandon Dirden, William Harper, Eric Abrams, Michael McKean, and Roslyn Ruff. The set was tight but well worked. Best to sit at orchestra level for this show, imo, as the staging worked best for those seats and the view from up top left a few things out of range, but not worth worrying about. I recommend it.

Great Show and Bryan Cranston is incredible

by Nemo87 on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

This was a great show. Not a musical, not boring, not slow and not complicated. Really great lighting. Great men's suits and costumes. Simple set. The best part is watching Bryan Cranston's intensity, passion, professionalism, ability and transformation to LBJ. Amazing show. Really really well done.

    Bryan Cranston was amazing!

by ctd1 on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

All the Way was a unique play - no real music, dancing or dramatic costumes. Bryan Cranston and the entire All the Way cast were captivating - by the incredible delivery of their dialog alone. We really enjoyed this play and appreciate what all of the actors put into it. BRAVO!!

Bryan Cranston, one of the best actors of our time

by MonicaBing on 6/24/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

Superb, top-notch acting by Bryan Cranston. Sincere, genuine, honest portrayal. Mr. Cranston sheds everything and lets you see the human side of a character. Very polished, smooth, fluid, dynamic acting, well worth the money spent for us. After seeing the play, this is obviously not some TV or movie star who got a gig in a Broadway play because he is well known, the guy is an authentic actor, in its truest form. We see movies, TV, plays, etc., but how many times do you get to see how the art of acting is supposed to be done? Mr. Cranston is one of the few that give us this chance.

All The Way takes you there

by LisafromOregon on 6/23/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

A lightening fast dialog keeps the pace moving so you don't even realize when intermission arrives that it has already been an hour and a half. The second half maintains the pace as Bryan Cranston does an amazing job of infusing the character with wit, frustration and determination on a scale and pace that the movie Draft Day should have tried to emulate! It didn't hurt to feel as if I had gained new understanding and insight into an era of history that happened when I was just born. Not many plays can sweep you up this way, this one is one to see!

    Great history lesson

by Malandro on 6/23/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

This play about LBJ's first year in office and the behind the scenes maneuvering to get the civil rights act passed made the 3 hours pass quickly. Bryan Cranston was terrific as LBJ even though he is not as big as LBJ was physically you didn't notice that. Too bad it is in its final week at the theater.

    All the Way

by Condean on 6/23/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

It was an excellent play with imaginative direction and staging. Bryan Cranston portrayed LBJ as I remember him. It was almost uncanny. And I don't know how he memorized the lengthy and complicated dialogue. Observing the political machinations 'firsthand' was a revelation. I wish the same were possible today

    A Look Back to 1964

by Texaan on 6/23/14Neil Simon Theatre - New York

"All the Way" is an outstanding theatrical look at life in the United States of America following the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It focuses on the process by which President Lyndon B. Johnson succeeded in passing the historic and Civil Rights Act of 1964,, and lais the groundwork for the passage of the Voting Rights Act the following year. But it also addresses the many other things that were taking place in the USA during this challenging period, including the run up to the Vietnam War. The play depicts a large number of important characters, and all. Bryan Cranston does an exceptional job in portraying LBJ as a bigger than life presence, but all of the many roles are very well presented. "All the Way" is one of those rare scripts that demand that the audience think very hard about a pivitol year in American history.

This was a beautifully staged, gorgeously acted production. Bryan Cranston deserved the Tony. And the direction and ensemble cast are impressive.
