Holy cow was it HOT in the ballroom. The climate control just couldn’t keep up with the room being packed. Thankfully I had a small battery powered fan that helped to keep me, and at least two other people, from passing out. Every encounter we had with venue staff - from guest services, security, merch - was pleasant. Trio, as always, was top notch. So much so we went to St. Louis the next day to see them there.
Alkaline trio put on an awesome show on a Sunday night, I can’t wait for them to come back in town!
If anything they've gotten better with time! New album is amazing, but they still played a ton of older classics!

I have seen Alk3 several times over the years, and they continue to be excellent showmen. The show had a balanced selection of both new and older songs, and the new drummer fit seamlessly into the lineup. Matt and Dan brought all their usual energy, and it's great to see that they've still got it after nearly 30 years performing together. One of my favorite bands of all time, and the quality of their live performances continues to be one of the many reasons that is so. I highly recommend even casual fans check them out live at least once.
Trio are just continuing to smash it recently. Blood hair and eyeballs is one of the best albums of their career and everything they do recently seems imbued with new energy and fire after a few years of slightly middling music and seeming lack of enthusiasm. They continued on this trajectory with their triumphant hometown show at the byline ballroom in Chicago. I travelled from Mexico City especially to see them and was blown away to hear crowd favourites alongside some new tracks and some others that I haven't heard played live as much, like my beloved Warbrain. I saw Trio a few times in my late teens/early 20s but now at 37 I think this is the best show of theirs I've been to. Even got a shout out from Matt on IG after the show! Well worth the trip, absolutely amazing experience. Keep killing it guys, here's to many more years of great music.
Alkaline Trio puts on an excellent show. I have no complaints about the band itself. The venue, however, is the absolute worst place to exit that I have ever been to. 10 minutes of standing still in a crowd trying to get down the stairs to a single exit. There are several side doors/exits that are never opened so it ends up being ine giant room of people trying to get to 2 small staircases at once, and out one door. Plan to miss the last song of your favorite band if you want to make it out of thw building in less than 45 minutes. It has been this way for years and makes me reluctant to see a show at the Aragon Ballroom.
The show itself was amazing! The venue is great, openers were good. The only complaint is drunks trying to make their way through and missing that step down into GA.
Alkaline Trio has been consistently making amazing music for a quarter of a century. Somehow they back up their songwriting chops with amazing live performances every time I see them.

Waited too long to see them. One of my favorite bands for the over twenty years. Their set was great, but way too short. Probably due to Matt losing his voice, which wasn’t noticeable, but he did mention it, or because it was a Sunday. Second opening act didn’t quite fit the bill.
Trio crushed it in a show that looked and sounded amazing. Such a good mix of bangers from the new album as well as some classics I'd not seen them perform before. Great time, will see them again if I'm able.

They killed it as always. Was very very pleased with the setlist which incorporated old and new.

Was super stoked to see them play some new songs on the album plus the OG songs. I had a great time. Fillmore is also a great venue in a hip spot with having barcade n kostas close by. I love it here
The Worries made you feel good. Drug Church pumped you up and The Trio killed it!! The venue and staff were AMAZING!
Matt, Dan and Atom put on an amazing show. Their new album is incredible and they mix in some of their older songs as well. Drug church and worriers were very good, too.
