About

Comedian Ali Siddiq has a unique riff-style comedy that makes you feel like you're hanging out, cracking jokes with a friend, except all the jokes are crafted with perfection -- and hilarious.

But it didn't start that way.

Siddiq started his comedy career behind the walls of incarceration. He didn't always believe that the path to success would lead him to the stage of a comedy club -- but once he started performing, he knew he'd found his calling. While he was incarcerated, Siddiq discovered his knack for entertaining an audience and, after being released, began performing comedy across the country. Not every comedian knows what it's like to spend six years in prison, but Siddiq does, and as a former inmate, he brings a unique perspective and voice to his comedy.

In 2014, Siddiq's "Mexicans Got On Boots" bit on the Comedy Central series "This Is Not Happening" was viewed 15 million times. This ferociously hilarious and detailed story of a prison riot showcased Siddiq's penchant for delighting audiences with his storytelling talent.

Siddiq released his one-hour special, "It's Bigger Than These Bars," on Comedy Central in 2018. Performed at the Bell County Jail in Belton, Texas, the show was inspired by his time spent in prison.

Siddiq is known for being brutally honest and sharing his journey from prison to comedy. His unique style of storytelling has earned him acclaim all over the country. His performances are peppered with his personal experiences, observations and thought-provoking storytelling style focusing on social issues, current events and racism. He brings down the house with his signature blend of laughter and biting commentary, using his experiences as a former inmate to humanize the most controversial topics.

Siddiq touches on these topics as part of conversations he's had in his everyday life. While he has opinions, he doesn't tell the audience how they should think. Instead, Siddiq brings up these subjects to help us all consider how we can work together on them, making him not only a comedian, but a commentator and artist.

Siddiq has toured worldwide, with his work featured on Comedy Central, BET's "ComicView," HBO's "Def Comedy Jam 25," and "The Arsenio Hall Show."

Everywhere he goes, he is known for his ability to take audiences into the depths of his personal experiences and emerge with a punchline that leaves everyone laughing.

You got to go see Ali Saddiq!

by Kimmie on 7/11/22Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

I had such a great time at this comedy show! The laughter was nonstop from both the opener comedian Marcus D. Wiley and the Headliner comedian Ali Saddiq! Service at Cobbs Comedy Club in San Francisco was excellent...from security check, seating by the staff, food and beverage servers, etc.

    Great

by MiMi on 7/11/22Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

He has a unique style. Even the way he comes out like blah is hilarious. His story telling/ jokes are uniquely his. He was even gracious/brave enough to meet people after the show. That was such a treat. And o will see him again. I’ve seen him twice and both experiences were totally different.

    Ab Bustin’

by Sonya on 7/11/22Cobb's Comedy Club - San Francisco

Wow, what a show. My first time seeing Ali live and I promise to see him every time he comes back. While waiting to enter the venue he took some time to chat with the patrons in line and let me tell you the line was laughing so hard I couldn’t wait for the show. He did NOT disappoint. I laughed the whole show and cried the whole show. Tissue in hand and holding my stomach aka abs. Even his opening act Marcus was damn hilarious! Good job guys! Kudos to you all!

We had a great time watching Ali Siddiq live! Watching his stand up on tv is awesome and he’s soo funny. But watching him live is way better. We were dying laughing, literally my cheeks were still hurting from laughing so much, even after the show. I would love to watch him again!

One of the best story telling comics around. Always fresh material with some of his classic stuff mixed in. Quality opening acts also.

    Cool

    by L. B. on 8/31/21

The show had only two performers which both were pretty good. It was a okay night pretty interesting and entertaining but not on a high high level like I have experienced before with another comedian which I won't name. Overall just a good show.

by ModernFormulas on 8/30/21Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

Ali Siddiq is one of my favorite comics because you never just laugh, there is always something for the spirit to take as well. The venue was great too, my first time and there was plenty of parking, easy check in, good food, and super friendly staff. All in all a 5⭐ experience!

    OMG! Hilarious!

by Alie on 8/30/21Punch Line Comedy Club - Sacramento - Sacramento

Unfortunately this was my first time to a show, however I will definitely be back! The first act was okay, some “white people” jokes that I rolled my eyes to but Ali was funny right from the start! Topics like Sacramento’s disrespectful homeless people to his neighborhood to his momma. I laughed so hard my face hurt! He was also sweet enough to take a picture & hear me say “I loved u on the YouTube show “This is not Happening”

    He was AMAZING!

by emdprp on 2/25/20Punch Line Philly - Philadelphia

Even though there are a lot of people there, you feel as though he is having a conversation with you about his experiences. His style of comedy is very different from anyone else. I love how the Punch Line Philly was set up. We were not packed in like sardines. The wait staff was great.
