Ali Gatie on Tour
Since 2017, Iraqi-Canadian heartbreaker Ali Gatie has been releasing a steady stream of singles that have established him as Toronto's new crown prince of after-hours R&B. But following the release of his conceptual nine-song release, YOU, in late 2019, Gatie is now making the transition from the bedroom to the stage. In January 2020, he made his live debut before a sea of smartphones at Toronto's Mod Club Theatre, backed by a four-piece band and a psychedelic mural to enhance the heady vibe of his fever-dream serenades. And as that performance proved, Gatie's achingly intimate serenades are magically transformed into cathartic group-therapy exercises when there's a club full of fans shouting them back at the stage.

Born in Yemen in 1997 to Iraqi parents, Ali Gatie spent his early childhood in Abu Dhabi before his family settled in the Toronto suburb of Mississauga when he was 10. Inspired by the amorphous R&B of Frank Ocean, Gatie embarked on his own home-studio experiments while still in his teens and, much to the chagrin of his parents, dropped out of university to make music his full-time pursuit. After self-releasing tracks to SoundCloud and winning a RhymeStars online song contest (judged by rapper Joe Budden), Gatie signed a deal with Warner Brothers that led to first breakthrough single, "Without You," a moody acoustic ballad that racked up millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube. But that was just the warm-up for his 2019 blockbuster "It's You," which began as a phone voice memo he sent to a girlfriend that was never intended for public consumption. An international Top 40 hit that's generated over 350 million Spotify streams, "It's You" served as the opening track to Gatie's debut mini-album, YOU. Fusing his signature finger-snapping, unplugged R&B sound with more abstract soundscapes, the record confirmed that Gatie possessed a bold artistic vision to match his innate gift for instant earworms. In early 2020, he scored his first two Juno Award nominations in the Fan Choice and Breakthrough Artist of the Year categories.
Ali Gatie has played shows at The Fillmore (Detroit) and The Fillmore (Philadelphia), and has brought the Buckhead Theatre (Atlanta) and the Varsity Theater (Minneapolis) to capacity.
did not like the fact that alcohol was aloud on premises. i felt very uncomfortable being a young girl around a bunch of drunk people. people were constantly throwinf there drinks on the ground and it got in my sisters shoe
What a beautiful show. Great music and respect for fans. Nice opener and solid performance. Wonderful engagement with the crowd. It was great seeing so many people represented and enjoying the show peacefully. All races and religions with no beef. It was beautiful.

Ali did such a great job interacting with the crowd and singing. His voice is just as beautiful live and I would LOVE to see him in concert again.
It’s his first tour and my first ever concert that I attended. He is so underrated and I’m so glad I got to experience him live! He’s extremely talented and his music hits different! <3
I got to talk to the band /crew, some of them were very kind and talked to the supporters like actual people while the others rolled their eyes and ignored us. Which I understand they been on tour and are probably tired , I’m glad they are doing big things but I wish they were a more humble. But again I met others the complete opposite from rude. For my first concert I made the most of it but I know there’s better:) No hate to Ali gaties. Love his music.
House of blues is a pretty small venue with really good acoustics & sound. They charge $30 per seat which is extensive to me, but I get it. Also, it’s annoying with seating bc there’s such tall people and it blocks everyone that’s short, big issue there. Nonetheless, the bar/ server was nice & make sure we weee taken care of. Kudos to security to keeping everyone safe & sane, clearing pathways for movement etc. I enjoy my concert nonetheless despite all the people there & it being a sold out venue. I would come back for another concert!
That night was so lit, I had a great time from watching Johnny Orlando, to ali gatie blowing me out of my seat. Great concert and definitely recommend going to one of ali gaties concert. THERE SO WORTH IT!

I came for Johnny Orlando not really knowing Ali Gatie but I had such a great experience. I was really suprised by how talented he is. I am kinda of sad sound was pretty bad for Johnny's set but it was good for Ali.
I loved the concert! It was my first ever concert & I can say I’m glad I chose him to be my first artists to go see! His mic did keep going in & out but I did not care, I’m just glad I was able to see him front row & get to grab his hand!!! When he comes to Dallas again, I WILL BE GOING ONCE AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
My son wanted the tickets for his birthday i had only heard a couple of songs by him. My boyfriend and son were so excited for the show, and I honestly say he was absolutely amazing!!! I am so glad that I went with them because Ali put on a spectacular performance and definitely made me a huge fan!!!
I had a great time at Ali concert he even waved at me which was amazing i love Ali’s music it’s helped me so much and i hope to see him soon again!

Nov 10, 2022 was the best night ever! It was just a magical and amazing night! I have always been wanting to go to his concert but Covid hit and all shows were canceled. But it was worth the wait because at the end we got to see Ali Gatie and sing his songs together.❤️
