    Alexander O'Neal....One word....Amazing!!!

by Starlike on 5/13/13BB King - New York City

We saw Alex at BB Kings club on May 8th 2013. I almost didn't get tickets because of the previous reviews that were so bad. But I guess Alex learned his lesson and didn't have Cherrelle perform with him this time. We arrived to a super packed house. The crowd was mixed with all races and ages. Alex started the show on time and gave us an 1 hour and 30 minutes of jamming! He was spectacular! We could see that he was now older and some weight gain, but that didn't stop him from bringing the house down! His voice was strong (just like his records) and he danced the night away and so did we! He sung all of his greatest hits and engaged with the audience like we were old friends. His band and back up singers were great too! What's even more unbelievable is that my husband wasn't a fan of Alex at all even though he had heard of him. But now he's a fan too. A week later he's walking around the house still humming his songs! When you go to a great concert it's something that you always will remember and Alex is one of those great memories that fits the bill. I wouldn't hesitate to see him again!

Awesome, I would pay to see the Show Again!!

by Burger on 5/11/13Howard Theatre - Washington

I enjoyed the show immensely. I danced in my seat the whole time. Alex still has it. He has so many songs that he could not sing them all. I wanted him to sing "A broken heart can mend". He did not do Innocent either. He really rocked the place. I just loved the show.

    OMG, where do I start

by amannsdnp on 10/5/12Chene Park - Detroit

Alexander O'neil was great and Angela Winbush was wonderful. I would not spend another dime to see Cherrelle. She talked about her feet and talked the entire concert. I didn't pay to hear her talk, I paid to hear her sing. Never again will I spend another dime to see Cherrelle, especially if she is anywhere in the line up. Me

Alexander O'neil and Angela Winbush were wonderful

    by BNicole1 on 7/16/12Chene Park - Detroit

Alexander O'neil and Angela Winbush nailed it. I enjoyed their performances. However, Cherrelle's performace was horrible. And she was allowed to spend too much time on the stage which took away from more time of hearing Angela Winbush or Alexander O'neil. I loved hearing Alex sing his ballads but it would have been great to hear him sing his fast hits (Fake, Innocent, Criticize, What's missing). Again, this could have been done if Cherrelle had been escorted alot sooner than she was. Otherwise, I still enjoyed the concert very much---Thanks to Angela Winbush and Alexander O'neil. Cherrelle was ok when she sung her OWN material.

    Concerts Are About the Music!

by datadriven on 7/16/12Chene Park - Detroit

This was a very poor show. Angela Winbush did not have a band to accompany her. However, did do a yeoman's job with one. Alexander O"Neal carried the show as best he could. He just did not have enough to offer to cover up for the terrible performance of lack of a performance given by Cherrelle. She was drunk and tried to talk her way through the concert. She came home Detroit and completely embarrased herself, her community and woman in general. She should be banded from ever performing again!

    Cherelle and Alexander Oneal

    by ShaNay12 on 7/13/12Chene Park - Detroit

Cherelle was drunk or high on something. Her voice was terrible, and she got booed at the end. She sounded like a cat being beat with a bat. I always wanted to see her and i was very disappointed, everybody was. Alexander Oneal was okay They rushed Angela Winbush off the stage, big mistake

    Cherelle Must Have Been Drunk

by AngieWasRobbed on 7/13/12Chene Park - Detroit

The concert would have received 5 stars BUT what the heck was up with Ms. Cherelle? Angela Winbush was fierce, danced, sang her heart out all at the age of 57 and a three times cancer survivor. Alex Oneal sung his heart out and really rocked the crowd. Cherelle sang only 2 1/2 of her own songs, sang a bit of Beyonce ??? and then bursted out crying over Whitney while she tried and FAILED to perform I will always love you. I miss Whitney too but darn, we paid money to hear singing not a therapy session. She was actually booed off stage. If she comes back I will not attend, unless SHE is the opening act. Angela Winbush was robbed. She could have sang to me all night and she has more hits than the both of them combined.

Terrible show with main act performers on drugs

    by Ken2527 on 7/13/12Chene Park - Detroit

My wife and I were looking forward to seeing Alexander O'Neal with Cherrelle in concert as we both love their old school music. The show got off to an excellent start by the opening act (Angela Winbush) she performed her butt off and put on a great show. Angela was followed by Cherrelle and from the moment she hit the stage it was clear to see that she was high out of her mind. She performed only one of her original songs and spent more time talking and incoherently babbling. At a couple different points she even was swearing. After an hour of the most painful show she was booed off stage and Alexander O'Neal came out. It only took a couple of moments to tell that he was also high out of his mind and sounded like he forgot to put his teeth in. This concert was an embarrassment to people who appreciate the classic old school artists. By far this was the worst concert I have ever attended. Everyone should have gotten a refund for this pathetic excuse of a concert.
