Great music but the auditorium wasn't.

by Itty-Bitty on 5/14/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Alan Parsons was its usual fascinating self. The sound was excellent (Kudos to the Soundman) as was the lighting (Kudos to the Light Engineer, too.) I don't know whether it was the fault of Fox Theater or the band, but tickets said 7:30. Normally, doors open about half an hour earlier to allow people to find their seats so the show can start at 7:30. Doors didn't open until 7:30 and then the doors to the actual auditorium didn't open until 8:00 so all those people were squeezed into a small lobby. When I asked whose "bright idea"that was, a staff member said the Production Team made the decision. I suspect it was so the theater could sell more drinks and snacks. I don't mind paying for a really good musical experience, but I object to being treated rudely so someone can squeeze more money out of the audience.

    Band was great!

by Chris on 5/14/24Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

The Alan Parsons Project Was great. However the venue is lacking. It's hard to get into the restrooms. The seating is VERY TIGHT, I'm 5'-9"and 220 Lbs. I have to sideways to fit in the seat. also if someone wants to get out from the middle, everyone has to get up and move to the aisle to let them out. There is only about 6 inches between my knees and the seat in front of me. Also the seating is flat. On the other hand, they have an abundance of people to help you find your seat, and the sound is great.

    Great sound, very intimate.

by El Diablito on 5/14/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Mr. Roger Water did not like the idea of stadium concerts. I've been to 2 Stadium concerts (Genesis and U2) and I hated both experiences. I've seen Alan Parsons Project four times and I always loved it. His shows are always in small venues; where you always appreciate the sound, you can see the musicians sweat and you don't pay to watch the show on a giant TV monitor and receive the sound waves 2 seconds later. Thanks to APP for respecting your fans and for giving us what a live performance should be: a great, once in a lifetime experience. It's been 4 days since I saw the show and I am listening to all of APP 11 vynils. And my adrenaline is still high.!!! I only experience that when I saw Pink Floyd and King Crimson. Thanks APP for making sure your fans enjoy and love your music, not a money making machine, but as true expression of art.

    Alan Parsons Project

by Snips on 5/14/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

With Alan Parsons at the helm. this version of the Project is overwhelmingly strong and enjoyable, with eight members, who are all talented musicians. Seven microphones on stage often with seven of the eight members harmonizing at the same time, is impressive. A great repertoire of classic dimensional rock songs is presented as good as it gets. The Fox Theater, Riverside, is also a comfortable venue with good access and parking. Fun

    An incredible show!

by Tmu on 5/14/24Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Parsons, and his incredibly talented band (lead guitarist may be one of the best I've ever heard) showed us in Riverside, CA that the engineer for Abby Road and Dark Side of the Moon brought his own brilliance through legacy songs that sear the heart. Don't Let It Show, Limelight, and Eye in the Sky all remain relevant and still uplifting. Perhaps the most underrated song and tune writer of all time showed up with a trove of incredible music for us to enjoy. After the show, I walked to my car thinking how grateful I was to have witnessed it, to see him and hear the vocalists who did justice to each and every song. So cool!
