Great music but the auditorium wasn't.
by Itty-Bitty on 5/14/24Fox Performing Arts Center - RiversideAlan Parsons was its usual fascinating self. The sound was excellent (Kudos to the Soundman) as was the lighting (Kudos to the Light Engineer, too.) I don't know whether it was the fault of Fox Theater or the band, but tickets said 7:30. Normally, doors open about half an hour earlier to allow people to find their seats so the show can start at 7:30. Doors didn't open until 7:30 and then the doors to the actual auditorium didn't open until 8:00 so all those people were squeezed into a small lobby. When I asked whose "bright idea"that was, a staff member said the Production Team made the decision. I suspect it was so the theater could sell more drinks and snacks. I don't mind paying for a really good musical experience, but I object to being treated rudely so someone can squeeze more money out of the audience.
