Alan Doyle on Tour
In 2019, Alan Doyle released the single "We Don't Wanna Go Home," a duet with B.C. country star Dean Brody. It's a title that perfectly sums up Doyle's career on the road. As frontman for Canadian roots-rock institution Great Big Sea, he spread the beery good cheer from coast to coast and beyond for the better part of 20 years, and since that band's dissolution in 2013, he's continued to live up to his well-earned road-warrior reputation as a solo artist. Backed by his reliable support crew The Beautiful Beautiful Band, Doyle delivers a healthy serving of Great Big Sea classics and selections from his three solo albums to date: Boy On Bridge (2012), So Let's Go (2015) and A Week at the Warehouse (2017). An Alan Doyle show is both an occasion to have a good time and to support a good cause — he's known to donate proceeds from ticket sales to mental-health and addiction-treatment organizations.

As a singer/guitarist for the rambunctious roots combo Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle helped transform the Newfoundland band from regional pub phenomenon into one of Canada's most successful and celebrated bands. Between their 1993 formation and 2013 dissolution, the group racked up seven Top 10 placements and 11 Juno Award nominations. And since launching his solo career with 2012's Boy on Bridge, he hasn't relented in his lifelong mission to deliver joyously anthemic, pint-sloshing, Celtic-kissed singalongs. But Doyle's musical pursuits have run parallel to an eclectic acting career that includes credits in such films as Winter's Tale and Ridley Scott's Robin Hood. (Fittingly, he's developed an ongoing creative partnership with another singing actor, Russell Crowe, who invited Doyle to write for his 2005 album, My Hand, My Heart, leading to a full-album collaboration between the two, The Crowe/Doyle Songbook, Vol. III, in 2011.) Doyle's myriad achievements earned him entry into the Order of Canada in 2017, and he's reflected upon his charmed life in two bestselling memoirs, Where I Belong (2014) and A Newfoundlander in Canada (2018).
The man knows how to rock a crowd. From his lilting tunes and down home humour, to stories of his travels and home. We didn’t sit still all night - the whole crowd was energized What a gracious presence Alan Doyle is. Clearly loves performing. Kelly Prescott was a quality act too!
Alan didn’t disappoint. He is a true showman and a valued Newfoundlander. He kept the Jubilee on it’s feet, singing and swaying to all the tunes. So much fun!!
Alan was amazing as always. We have seen him multiple times and he never disappoints. Can't wait until next time.
Alan has a high energy show and and gets the audience involved in his performance! I’ve seen him twice now and each show has been a lot of fun. His band is great! Whitney Rose was awesome as well!
I have seen Alan over 10 times...3 separate Ships N Dip cruises (with GBS,) with GBS in downtown Jacksonville (twice, with GBS,) in Moncton and Toronto, and now solo twice at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. Alan gives it EVERYTHING and his energy level and personality are rivaled only by the skill and artistic gifts of himself and his backup musicians. How he continually maintains this frenetic pace (while acting like this is the only show he ever does) is beyond me. This time I was lucky enough to nail a first row center seat and thus was only feet away. I was sore for 2 days from acting the fool along with everyone else who was up and clapping and dancing, as is ALWAYS the case with Alan. I hope he comes back to us on a regular basis, and I know any friends dragged in by other friends are now fans and converts, too. And...because there are always so many Canucks in the audience, it is a very friendly (and often very inebriated) crowd, and you get to make new friends, too, eh?
The show was a lot of fun. The music was great. The musicianship was outstanding.
Alan never disappoints.. He was spot on as usual. His opener, Whitney Rose was fantastic. Just a great time!!!!!

First time seeing him and I was not let down. Better that I even hoped for.
Alan Doyle and his band put on a wonderful show at the Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. The opening act was good, and then Alan and band came on stage and put on a wonderful show - some Great Big Sea hits, some Newfoundland songs, some "sailor" songs, and a great selection of songs for Alan Doyle's pas and latest albums. Sound quality was great and the musicians were all wonderful. The violin/fiddle player was a special treat for us - she was amazing. We'd definitely go and see Alan Doyle again.
Alan Doyle kept us clapping and dancing all night and continued to impress with a double encore! By far one of the best shows I've ever been to! Highly recommended!!!
Alan Doyle and his band always put on a great show but on this night, it was beyond spectacular. People got up and danced; they sang along to the songs, and they were in awe to the performance. Good time was had by all. The venue doesn't have a bad seat in the place, even the obstructed view seats are decent. Highly recommend seeing Alan Doyle anywhere he is scheduled to perform.
This was by far one of the best shows I have seen in years! Not only was the music great the band was fully engaged with not just the music but, with there fans.

Such a fun evening! Alan Doyle's outsized personality shone as always, with both new music and old favorites from Great Big Sea bringing the audience to its feet. The new band is terrific!

Absolutely fantastic! Alan and Band were Spot On! Great show , sound , setting and seating. Also ordered some snacks before the show and the were great. Service also very good.
You can tell that Alan Doyle just loves to be up on stage. The old tunes were great and the new ones, although not as familiar were very good. Great energy and stage presence. Sound quality was excellent.
Wonderful performer in a great venue. Doyle surrounds himself with accomplished musicians.
