About

After an eight-year absence, Alabama Shakes are poised to make their return announcing a 2025 Tour across the U.S. The Athens, AL-raised band, comprised of vocalist/guitarist Brittany Howard, guitarist Heath Fogg, and bassist Zac Cockrell exploded onto the scene in 2012 with their debut album Boys & Girls, (ATO Records), which entered Billboard's Independent Albums chart at No. 1. Boys & Girls earned the band multiple GRAMMY nominations and was hailed as one of the year's best albums by numerous publications, including Rolling Stone, which also named lead single "Hold On" the #1 Best Song of 2012. Soon after its release, the bandmates found themselves thrust into the global spotlight, achieving such milestones as performing at the White House and on "Saturday Night Live."

The band's legacy continued to grow with the groundbreaking Sound & Color (ATO Records). Released 10 years ago, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, won GRAMMY Awards for Best Alternative Music Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. The first single, "Don't Wanna Fight," took honors in the Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song categories. Sound & Color marked a profound evolution from Alabama Shakes' debut album, as The New York Times Magazine observed, heralding the band's "soul-stirring, shape-shifting new sound." Both Sound & Color and Boys & Girls were certified Platinum by the RIAA.

The Shakes' Cockrell, Fogg, & Howard have also reunited in the studio promising new music to fans who have been eagerly awaiting their return.

  • So Nostalgic

by SBinATX on 9/28/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Talented band and Brittany Howard’s voice and stage presence never disappoint. So good! Though the venue tried to put up screens to improve the sound because the crowd was smaller than capacity…unfortunately, it still felt like their sound came out in an echo chamber. I have seen many other concerts at Moody Center (sitting in the same area) and this has not been the case. Very strange. The overstage speakers or sound settings didn’t highlight her voice…too much bass/band. Think the sound was a bit off on Thursday night.

  • Louse seats and lousy sound quality

by MOODY CENTER SUCKS for CONCERTS on 9/28/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

It’s plain to see that Moody Center was designed for basketball. The seats are plastic and they wobble all the way up and down the row when someone’s rocks to the music. And the venue is so large that there are pockets where the sound quality is so bad inside that it’s actually better outside in the areas where vendors are.

  • Overall great experience

by Ali on 9/28/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

Saw The Alabama Shakes and they were terrific! I would say the audio and lighting in the facility were A+, my only complaint was I wish there would’ve been a giant screen to show close ups of the band since we were far far away where even our phones couldn’t zoom in enough. I would’ve enjoyed seeing Brittany and her bandmates playing their instruments.

  • Great concert and venue

Seating was good. Well organized and enjoyed the show.

  • Alabama Shakes - D.C.

    by LadyLove143 on 9/27/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing!! Brittany Howard is such a positive force and a gift to experience. She sounds every bit as good in person as she does on the albums. The band's energy was strong all night. Lighting and sound were perfect. The Shakes are now on my list of bands to see whenever they are in town.

  • A Top Tier Night With Alabama Shakes

by Commelaube on 9/23/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The Anthem location on DC’s Wharf is truly a spacious jewel and the perfect backdrop for Alabama Shakes. From the moment Brittany Howard entered the stage in a gorgeous beaded silver gown along with the group and background singers, we were sitting up in attention anticipating greatness. They did not disappoint. I enjoyed the VIP seating on level three wing row A with my brother in tow. The snack were tasty but I wish there were vegan options. Other than that, the night was perfection.

  • Amazing show!

I loved everything about the show. I would see them again in a heartbeat.

  • I want to go again!

    by B. on 9/22/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

OMG!!! From beginning to end this was the best show ever! Brittany is such a humble powerhouse. I don’t understand how she can pack so much into her vocals. My husband rocked out the entire time. He’s still upset we didn’t get closer but we absolutely adore this group and so glad we got to see them all together ❤️

  • Great show

Great show featuring lots of new music plus the old favorites. Brittany Howard demonstrated her powerful voice with engaging harmonies through out the show.

  • Too old for a sold out show at anthem

by Too Old for Anthem on 9/22/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 3 out of 5

The crowd was just too big and people backin into us all night. Had to leave, but my daughter got her favorite song

  • Amazing sound and experience

by JBI on 9/22/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I caught the Alabama Shakes at the Anthem in DC. That band blew me away! They opener, The Budos Band, was stellar. It was also my first time at the Anthem and its a lovely space - easy to get in/out, plenty of space, not a bad view in the house, and easy bar experience.

  • Alabama Shakes - EXCELLENT

by P Harris on 9/21/25TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I've been to in quite a while. We were at The Mann in Philly. Everything about Alabama Shakes was fabulous. The warm up band was disappointing, though.

  • The sound tech

by DJ on 9/21/25TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Absolutely stunning performance by the band. The staging and the lighting were amazing. The sound was off. At times the band was way louder than Brittany and could barely hear her. Most of the time I couldn't hear the back up singers at all.

  • Great time!

by Kimbo PB on 9/21/25TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

We loved everything about the venue, it was effortless to get into, easy to get a drink, minimal micro managing, but helpful and kind.

  • Disappointed

by T.Ray on 9/21/25TD Pavilion at the Mann - PhiladelphiaRating: 2 out of 5

A rare experience where the opener (Budos Band) was better than the headliner! Unfortunately, the Alabama Shakes had a sound mixing issue. When the full band played, B. Howard was drowned out. We were very disappointed.

  • Alabama Shakes - MGM Boston

by Chip on 9/18/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The band was great!!!! The sound techs were screwed up. They had the base too loud which was drowning out Brittany Howard vocals and any treble for about first 5-6 songs. So bad in fact, that we were instagramming the sound techs during concert to get them to fix. Finally turned down bass and could hear the band the way it was meant to be. Somebody should talk to those guys.

  • Incredible

by Rachel on 9/17/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Never had heard of the opener the Budos Band before and they certainly did not disappoint. What a vibe. This was our second time seeing Alabama Shakes and they are incredible. Brittany’s voice is second to none. Even after an awesome encore, I just left wishing they played Be Mine and the Greatest. Otherwise, no notes.

  • Amazing!

by Cori on 9/17/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing doesn't even express the talent of Alabama Shakes! The entire band was incredible and the talent of this one group on stage was just inspiring! So happy they are back and giving us the experience of their music again.

  • Wonderful performance! Great venue!

by Peanut on 9/17/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Had such a great time. Performance was spot-on. Definitely on my list to see again. Venue was awesome!
