If you have an opportunity to see Al Jarreau in concert, don't hesitate. His voice is as strong as ever. I personally know of no one with the caliber of his vocal skills that sings with his style. Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience!
Al Jarreau did not disappoint. His voice is still superior.
Great concert and one to remember. It was like the young Al dishing those jazzy melodies 40 years ago! Thank you Al for sharing your gift of music.
Al Jarreau is an amazing musician. I enjoyed listening to him hit high and low notes, basked in the playfulness of his spirit, and relished his musicianship. However, he was often drowned out by his musicians. Also he sang very few of his amazing ballads. Why did he sing that Harry Belofante Reggie cutesy tune? He could have sung any one of his wonderful ballads. I left craving more, much more.
Listening to Al Jarreau's CDs cannot come close to a live performance in New York. I was totally mensmerized by his voice. He performed many of my favorites that touched my heart. He took the time to reminisce about his career through the years. I truly felt that I was in this love together. Al Jarreau exceeded my expectations of what a night at the Blue Note should be like. Just fantastic!!!!!
He is just the sweetest man, so grateful tot he audience. It's clear that he is so happy when he is performing. His voice is strong and the old hits are just so good. The new arrangements are awesome. He is slowing down for sure, walks with a cane and he needs to sit while he is singing. If you are thinking about going to one of his shows, don't put it off.
Great show. Al Jarreau is a wonderful singer and performer. Older, a bit unsteady, but still a magnificent voice, stylist, and spirit. Fabulous, funky, jazzy band. Long set, too! Left Town Hall on a cloud of musical positivity.
Although he's exhibiting some infirmity, it certainly doesn't show in the outstanding performance he gave the audience the other night. Jarreau still has it; don't miss him if he comes to your area; it's a treat.
Al Jarreau was everything I knew he would be and more!
Grew up listening to Al Jarreau in the 70's and 80's. His songs brought back good memories. Great night, great performance!
Al Jarreau loves giving a live performance and it shows! He engages the audience and this was an evening I won't forget. Definitely a "must see" concert!
Jarreau is a master vocalist and performer. He is supported by a talented band. I am so glad I saw this show. The crowd loves him and he is a master at engaging and involving the audience in his show. I can't recommend him enough. You leave his concerts feeling so happy and so good.
Was so special to see this living legend perform his hits and some new material.
i loved this concert. it's always a good time when everyone in the audience is singing along and helping keep the beat.
My husband and I saw Al Jarreau Wednesday evening and once again, at 74 years of age, he never ceased to provide one of the most top quality jazz and R&B concerts on the planet. Having seen Mr. Jarreau perform many times since 1990 and in many different venues, my heart was singing and yearning for more, just like always. What a night and what a charming man!
A total talent and an amazing artist....he sounds as great as he did earlier in his career!
This was an excellent show Al Jarreau is an exceptional performer well talented
I saw the promo for the Al Jarreau concert at the McCoy Center very late. The last time I had seen Mr. Jarreau in concert was in the early '80s. The remaining tickets were in the last row on the floor. McCoy Center is an excellent venue, and the tickets were good. Mr. Jarreau has been performing for over 50 years, he has health issues, but the performance was as strong as ever. The band was his and looked like they were having a great time. Three cheers for Al Jarreau, his band and the McCoy Center.
This was the best concert I have been to in a long time. Al still has the some pipes......
