Lovely concert but the venue was not disabled friendly and only one restroom for the 70 plus attendees trying to use one restroom
Being a big fan of the Symphony I had a wonderful time at E.J. Thomas Hall on the University of Akron's campus. It was my girlfriend's idea to go having seen it on Facebook & being a fan of both the Symphony and Gospel Music we thoroughly enjoyed the perfect mix of instrument & voice. With this being Black History Month it couldn't have paired better! The choir & their soloists were top notch & tremendously inspiring. I will definitely go again.
Love this concert every year! This year was no different! Gets me in the mood for the holidays! Conductor always is gracious and tells wonderful stories. “Santa” entertains with his melodic tenor voice. This year Fiona Coughlin delighted the audience with her voice like an angel. The entire symphony orchestra, choir, and gospel choir made the entire evening unforgettable! We’ll be back next year!
Amazing, wonderful, fun and what an amazing trio! Rafael was fun! Beautiful soprano and tenor duet and Rafael s voice was excellent ( fave- “the worms”! Haha). The chorus added so much depth. Then the director and orchestra were spit on and beautiful. Ty for an amazing evening and wonderful memories!
West Side Story is a masterpiece of musical theatre and the Akron Symphony did not disappoint. The singers were and orchestra were spot on. I was seated in the back of the lower balcony, and although I could hear the orchestra, I did have a hard time hearing the singers. I felt that the soloists could have been amplified more and was grateful that I happen to know the lyrics! Otherwise, a stellar concert!
What a wonderful event, decided at the last minute to attend, great seats, very uplifting, would recommend.to attend if you can
The combination of the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Cleveland Orchestra Children's Chorus, and dance troupe presented an awesome performance of Orf's Carmina burana.
The show was astounding!!! I cannot wait to see them again!
The music was wonderful. I especially liked the "unannounced" music that was added to the program. The soloist was also wonderful. I am thrilled that we can bring such high-quality musicians into Akron.
