AJR IN CONCERT:
New York-based brother band AJR is generating significant buzz with their unique blend of barbershop harmonies, dubstep beats, and internet-savvy lyrical references. The trio's success with debut single "I'm Ready" has inevitably drawn comparisons to fellow brother outfit Hanson, but AJR's eclectic sound and DIY approach put them in a category all their own. From bright handclaps and playful samples to energetic ukulele and guitar strumming, AJR have crafted an endlessly creative sound that always leaves fans wanting more on their unforgettable tours.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
AJR is comprised of brothers Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met. The native New Yorkers got their start as street performers, playing covers of songs by the Beach Boys and Vampire Weekend in parks around Manhattan. The brothers released their debut single "I'm Ready" in 2013, tweeting it out to a number of celebrities in the hopes of getting discovered. The tactic worked -- the song caught the eye of SIA, who helped AJR secure a management deal. As the group's reputation continued to grow, they made their first TV appearances with performances on Good Day New York and VH1's Big Morning Buzz show. In late 2013 AJR released the I'm Ready EP, a solid debut that earned them opening slots on tour with big-name acts like Demi Lovato and the Wanted. A rising young act with talent to the gills, AJR have ticket buyers eagerly awaiting their upcoming tour dates.
Their concert had so much energy infused into it. I truly enjoyed every moment. I wish I could relive the whole concert
First and foremost this concert was something that my whole soul needed. I’ve seen AJR before and they do not disappoint. The crowd was great and friendly (very young as well) so I did feel like I was on the older spectrum but that didn’t stop anyone from dancing around and singing with me! The energy that AJR bring to the stage is not one easily imitated and just makes you smile from ear to ear! My boyfriend who I went with is forever a Fan and agreed that the live show is something anyone should check out! Prepare to get hype cuz that’s what these brothers do!
Such an incredible concert. The performance was phenomenal and so much fun. AJR gives by far the best show. 10/10 would recommend
Just wow!!!!! AJR's stage show, sound.....just everything was phenomenal!!!! I missed out on the show last time, but I will NEVER miss another show!!!! Stupid impressed with these fellas!!!!!
This show was so well thought out! It was clear how much effort went into it. Phenomenal performance!
The concert it’s self is flipping amazing, I love AJR a lot of times just listening to their music gets me threw my days without a freak out lol. But I also loved the concert venue because it’s roomy and has great pizza from late night slice.
I dont know how in 5000 charcters I'm going ro do this experience any justice. It was like visting someone elses lucid dream and realizing at some point that youre not just an observer, you're an active participant. The lights, the sounds, the theatrics of it all... it wasn't just a band on stage playing music. Just go! If you have the opportunity just go. It will change the idea of what a live show can be for you!
This show was amazing!! it was very crowded, but it was sold out so we expected that. If they play at this venue again I definitely will be coming back!
The show itself was fantastic! Express live did a great job of the set up for the stage. Express live however didn’t do as much to accommodate a sold out show as I hoped. My line wait was an hour and a half and when I got in the limited standing room was blocked by people spreading blankets on the lawn. For bigger shows I’d like to see a notice for standing room only. If the show wasn’t as good the venue would’ve gotten a much lower rating for this event. They do a great job of smaller shows though!
I got in line about an 1 and 53 mins early, and it was definitely worth waiting that long since I did get a pretty close view of the stage and artist. They really know how to put on a show, and, if you haven’t see them live yet, you definitely should. You won’t regret it at all :)
AJR was amazing and did not disappoint. Their performance and visual technical imagination is out of this world. The one thing that was a bit disappointing was the venue. I felt like it was dirty even before the show started my feet were sticking to the floor. And I paid quite a bit extra for my tickets that was not explained that it was not for priority front seating it was for middle of the road seating at a table where you weren’t in all the fun and at a table. I just wished that was described better. I would not have wasted the extra $100 for myself and my 14 year old who wanted to be right up in the front. ($12 a piece would have been much better had I known) we didn’t even use the $75 seats quite a waste!:(
This was THE concert of the decade for me! The Brothers and Crew held nothing back. More “experience” than concert, with a vibe that was positive, creative, uplifting and downright unforgettable. Don’t sleep on this show/experience! Believe it... listening to the “Neotheater” album is even BETTER after the show! Bravo boys!!
I loved this concert because of how much I love AJR and they had great animation during the concert with the treadmill and curtains I had a good time.
Everything about this concert was perfect. From the down-to-earth nature of the guys to the sound quality and interacting with the crowd. I waited for this for like 2 years and it lived up to the hype. Definitely want to meet them next time they come around. I’m obsessed!
So much energy and creativity! Loved the concert! It was easy to get in and out of Fillmore - used Park Whiz to get a $5 spot ahead of time. Ate at nearby Park Bar beforehand - delicious bar food, walking distance.
The concert was amazing - my niece and I sat in the orchestra - about middle - but the venue feels intimate even if you aren't that close; The food and drink options were plentiful - I just wish the bathrooms weren't so far away from the seats - but understand that they need to be away from the 1st floor for traffic flow. Easy to get in and find the seats and easy to depart
the AJR brothers out did themselves. what an amazing show!!! still blown away today as I think about all the different pieces they put together. I can’t wait for their next one! I’ve been to over 30 concerts in the past few years and this one topped every one by a landslide! I’ve been following them for a few years. Saw them in Ft Lauderdale at Revolution. So proud of them and so excited for what their future holds!
AJR is one of the most incredible groups to see perform live. The Neotheater tour is so well thought out and you can see that they put so much effort into every piece of the show. Their dedication to their fans and their music is something really special and it is so worth seeing them. I ,personally, would see this show again.
From the very start of the concert they grab your attention and not only are you excited for which song they are going to sing next you are in awe of what they are going to do next. The crowd did not sit and sang to every song! You leave the show walking on the clouds and wanting more!
This concert was amazing! I have seen AJr once before this and thought that they had put on a great show before that. But they out did themselves. The show was perfect for the venue!!
