About

Aisha Tyler's talent and versatility have sparked her rapid ascent in Hollywood.  Her hot-streak stint at the head of E! Entertainment's Talk Soup landed her firmly in the Hollywood spotlight and revitalized the Emmy-winning show, which she was the first woman and African-American to captain.   After leaving Talk Soup, Aisha moved quickly into television and film roles, enjoying another first - the first African-American to play an extended character arc on NBC's Friends.  She co-starred with Jennifer Love Hewitt in the CBS hit Ghost Whisperer, had recurring roles on two of television's top dramas--CSI and 24, and has made numerous appearances on shows, including, Nip/Tuck,  Curb Your Enthusiasm, Reno 911, The Boondocks and more. She is currently voicing the character of sexy, superspy Lana Kane on FX's new hit, animated series "Archer," which debuted in January 2010, as the highest rated new show in FX history.
In 2009, Aisha returned to her stand-up comedy roots, starring in a hilarious one-hour special for Comedy Central, "Aisha Tyler is Lit:  Live at the Fillmore."  The special is now a dvd available everywhere, that includes additional, behind-the-scenes footage and a music video she wrote and stars in—the rap video spoof "Noassitall."  Aisha has used her trademark wit in multiple appearances on The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, Politically Incorrect, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Late Late Show and more.   Aisha has had roles in Adam Sandler's hit, Bedtime Stories, the crime drama "Death Sentence" opposite Kevin Bacon and the Universal comedy "Balls of Fury," with Christopher Walken.  She completed filming "Black Water Transit," a film set in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, directed by iconic Brit Tony Kaye and starring Lawrence Fishburn. Aisha also had roles in ".45," opposite Milla Jovovich, and "Santa Clause III" with Tim Allen.
Aisha is a celebrated author, having released the successful "Swerve:  Reckless Observations of a Post-Modern Girl" in 2004.  A collection of hilarious comic essays on pop-culture, the book has been praised for its frank and funny look at what it's like to be a girl.  Aisha is also a frequent contributor to Glamour Magazine, for which she has written pieces about the media's unrealistic portrayal of feminine beauty.
Aisha has many additional interests.  An avid video game player, she was named to the exclusive seven-member Halo game counsel.  She does a substantial amount of charitable work, as well, acting as a spokesperson for the American Red Cross, teaching Dove self-esteem workshops for teenage girls, consulting with the Trust for Public Land's Parks for People project, and fund-raising for Doctors Without Borders, the Family Violence Prevention Fund and the International Rescue Committee.  She's also the reigning Celebrity Jeopardy champ.
Critical acclaim for Aisha has been effusive. Esquire called Aisha "sweetly wicked," designating her one of its "Women We Love". TV Guide called her one of television's  "In Crowd." Maxim anointed her one of its "Hot 100" two years in a row.

Saturday night was my first ever Comedy Club experience and I was really excited that my first time was with Aisha Tyler. Her opening act was hilarious and totally set the vibe for a good night. Aisha, well, what is there not to say? She's absolutely hilarious and amazing. She keeps it real & is completely down to earth. After her show, she stayed to meet with fans (who does that now-a-days?!). I was completely thrilled to meet her & have my picture taken. I can't wait for her to come back to SF!!

    Love Her

I went. I saw. She conquered. Aisha Tyler was hilarious and her opening act did his job well. If you are familiar with her work then you already know how she brings the funny. And if you aren't already acquainted I definitely recommend that you remedy that ASAP.

    Aisha is great live.

by 12Roger34 on 3/26/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

I sort of knew what to expect, as I'd seen her show on cable, and some of her other work on television. It was good to hear her show without the beeps you get on TV, she swears but it's not like she's doing it just to provoke, it's more like a conversation with an old friend. Also, her opening act, Ali Mafi had it rough, but he eventually got the crowd going. I thought they were BOTH very funny, and I was laughing most of the time, which is why I went to see the show in the first place.

Aisha offered up a fabulous performance. High energy laugh riot. This girl is full of spunk and self confidence. Well worth the time and money. She also has the best, most professional podcast I've ever heard called GIRL ON GUY. check it out.

Great show. Both comedians were very funny. Aisha was so nice and signed stuff and took pictures for a long line of fans after the show. I'm a bigger fan of hers now. Didn't really care for The Venue. They seemed to try to snake you in front of as many slot machines as possible before they let you get to the theater. Ushers kept showing people to the wrong side of the aisle making the whole row get up as they pushed across it to their seat.

    Good show.

by DJPossess on 3/26/12The Venue at Horseshoe Casino - Hammond

I've never been to Horseshoe before. Living in Illinois, I was surprised and disappointed that they allow smoking inside because the smell is just over whelming. The Venue is bigger than I expected and nice. We had floor seats and the stage was high enough to see over peoples heads. Aisha is very funny and the opening act (forgot his name) was good too. No Ass At All video was funny too.
