Good but can go up another notch

by CP on 6/4/23loanDepot park - Miami

The event was solid but a slight disappointment from having it in a stadium vs on a beach last year. I've come to associate Afro Nation with beaches. It caused a little too much hassle to navigate from stage to stage. And stadium seating is not what I think of when in think "festival". I usually love the freedom of movement. So even if it wasn't sand, grass would've been better than seats in the stands. Although, I had a Golden ticket, it was disappointing to see how much space there was between the stage and VIP/Golden ticket area compared to the stands and wife gulf of unused space between them. On the positive side, using restrooms was easy, accessing water and other beverages was easy too. Food lines were a bit slow, however, but that's common with festivals. Of course the music was great, sound system was solid.

This was an epic experience with a Miami vibe

by Bolza on 6/3/23loanDepot park - Miami

The Afronation event was awesome, weather was nice but sometimes too hot, vibe was cool and music and ambience was fantastic. Refreshments and snacks inside the event arena was quite expensive though.

    Wonderful

by Blaqberii on 6/3/23loanDepot park - Miami

Overall great. Only downside would be for a clear distinction between the Main stage and the Amapiano stage next time.

    Bomb Experience in Miami!

by Jae on 6/3/23loanDepot park - Miami

Afronation: Miami had a rough start, but the experience was amazing once inside! The general admission was overcrowded, with people pushing, making the security entrance difficult. That's a significant area that needs to be resolved as more locations are planned for Afronation. As far as the concert goes, the main stage was amazing. The visuals enhanced the performance, and the side screens ensured everyone could see the artists on stage. The Djs in between the main artists was a good idea! The vibe was maintained, and you had time to get food, drinks, or merch while the Djs played. I don't know if it's possible, but maybe the Djs can be replaced with the ampiano people! Going between the two stages was difficult, and the schedules overlapped with each other. We all want to see our favorites from both stages, and it's impossible with overlapping times.

    Ok

by Nat on 6/2/23loanDepot park - Miami

My seats were in general admission and the sound quality was so poor. I didn't feel like I was a part of the concert at all. Instead it felt like we were on the outside looking in on the VIP members enjoying the concert. The sound quality was so poor from our seats that we fell asleep both days sitting in the crowd. I think of anything were to be done differently, there needs to be speakers located closer to the stadium seats. If possible, having it at a venue that allows all concert goers to be on the ground level would be ideal. For what I experienced it wasn't at all worth what I paid. I likely will not be attending again.

    Afronation 2023

by Summacromie on 6/2/23loanDepot park - Miami

If you were in VIP it was great, however the set up of the entire thing was not great. I don’t feel as if the GA and vip should be that separate. I travelled across the country and we had to end up spending more money to get vip the next day because it wasnt great in GA standing in rafters, you may as well have just watched the concert on tv from there cause you could only see the screens. also there wasn’t enough bars or bartenders we waited in line for 2 hours to get a drink to not be able to get one. think it could have been better organized over all.

    Crazy lineup; venue okay

by Dunny on 6/2/23loanDepot park - Miami

AfroNation was hype! Good vibes all around, amazing artists and performances. The programmation was on point. Not a fan of the venue though. The stadium felt kind of clinical. It looked empty because the floor was only for people with golden tickets (almost 900CAD$). The second stage outside was a vibe and felt more like a party!

    Great first AfroNation experience!

by Mark on 6/2/23loanDepot park - Miami

The lineup was impressive! Having Burna, Rema, Asake, Wizkid, Shenseea and others on stage was great! One surprising highlight for me was the Piano Stage - I discovered Amapiano for the first time during the festival and really really liked having the smaller amapiano stage to get closer to the DJ's and dance the night away. One thing that was a bit dissapointing was that Regular ticket holders couldn't have any access to the floor at LoanDepot...couldn't get close to the artists at all on the Main stage. Overall, Great artist lineup, very strong Amapiano stage and experience.

VIP ticket was well worth it

by Isabelle on 6/2/23loanDepot park - Miami

Having access to the stadium floor and an option to sit is a must. I liked standing by the stage but I recommend to get there early and be front row where it’s less crowded and hot. Production didn’t do a great job setting up the stage. The big screens constantly showed flames and big red lights which didn’t help the fact that you’re standing there and it feels like 100 degrees. The set up would have been more of a vibe if visuals were calm with cool colors. As I was standing by the stage I could hear several people complaining about the performers. They wanted the crowd to go wild but failed to realize we were standing in what felt like a sauna so too much movement was impossible, also, it was Sunday we were tired from Saturdays event. I know I was saving most of my energy for the main headliners (Wizkid, Rema) especially on Sunday. Drinks and food was extremely over priced. Be prepared to spend at least $30 for jollof rice or $15 for one can of seltzer water with only 5% alcohol. Be sure to walk around the stadium floor (if you buy the VIP ticket), be free, dance, socialize, and enjoy/ engage with each artist that is performing. Stay hydrated and fill your stomach as you will be standing there for hours. With that said, ANM2023 was a great experience and I would do it again 1000x over.

    I has a great time

by Stephy on 6/1/23loanDepot park - Miami

I had so much fun. The artist were amazing especially asake and Wizkid they really brought the energy to the festival. Emphasis on Asake, i really want to see him again. Mavado ended abruptly which was so weird to the crowd. My first afronation was one for the books. If you didn’t come you really missed out.

    No what I expected

by Afro Haitian on 6/1/23loanDepot park - Miami

This was my first time ever going to a festival that was ran like a concert. It took away from the experience I thought I would have. If you’ve ever been to rolling loud or any other music festivals they are out in the open. Not in stadium seats. Hearing the artist was also difficult depending on the side of the stadium you were on. Some of my friends with VIP tickets also complained because they were left standing the whole time.We just made the best out of what we had but I’m not sure if I’d do Miami again. I just expected more out of Afro nation

    AfroNation Festival Experience

by DonnaY on 6/1/23loanDepot park - Miami

The show was absolutely amazing. The venue provided more than enough seating for the participants, the sound and lighting were great, the artists were very engaging and entertaining and the crowd was very involved, happy, and full of energy. Overall, it was a great experience!
