About

Extreme alt-rock outfit AFI, short for A Fire Inside, continue to keep their punk rock spirit alive after more than two decades together. The four-piece California band, impressively composed of the same lineup since 1998, has revitalized hardcore punk ever since their 1991 beginning, though the crew didn’t see mainstream success until their 2003 platinum-selling “Sing the Sorrow.”

Since that time, AFI has satiated ticket holders at amped up concerts nationwide, either on their own headlining runs or as part of the Vans Warped Tour on several occasions.

After a four-year recording hiatus, AFI unveiled its ninth studio set, “Burials,” in October 2013. The collection, produced by Gil Norton (Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World), peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Some tracks on the Republic Records release (“17 Crimes” and “I Hope You Suffer” for example) lean more toward hard rock than horror punk or goth-punk, both labels AFI’s received with past work.

    Beautiful Thieves, Indeed!

This was the best show I've ever been to! Davey Havoc stole the show with his lovely voice and moving lyrics. Jade, Adam and Hunter were also very present on stage, unlike many other bands in this day and age, they were not out shined by their lead singer. Passionate, rebellious and most importantly they were together. They got really, really involved with all of the crowd on the floor. They were respectful and all around made for an incredible show. I CANNOT wait to see them again!

    AFI

it was a good concert , with the exception of the rather large individuals in both stature and girth blocking every view point so that my 5ft 3 girl friend couldn't see a thing and when if she could watch in from of them ( they being much taller than her) refused repeatedly . So I spent 71 bucks to watch AFI with my girl friend on a tv.

The concert was amazing. I wasn't too happy with the opening band, the Gallows, but AFI themselves was absolutely amazing. c:

    A day not to forget.

The AFI concert last night was epic, haha it was at the epic venue ironically enough. The Gallows were an amazing opening band, we moshed with the lead singer, we did a fairly big circle pit as well. That was wicked awesome! The lead singer of The Gallows came down on the floor with us and sang as we sang with him. After The Gallows played, it was an excrutiating long time waiting for AFI to get on stage. Myself and everyone around me was pumped for them to come on. People were pushing and shoving trying to get to the front with us, but that wasn't happening. Then all of a sudden, the lights went out and out came none other than AFI. The show blasted off and there was (moshing)-even though it was sucky- and surging galore. Now, for a short 16-year-old girl with the height of 4"11', it was fairly hard for me to stay in the front. I was being squished by stupid tall guys with their boney elbows in my neck, i couldn't hear or see a thing. So then i pushed my way out of the front and went to the side and watched for a little bit. Then after that I went in the pit and enjoyed myself with it. Then I crowd surfed a little bit so I could actually see AFI doing their thing. That was a great view i must admit, being able to actually see their faces. They played 2 encore songs, and then the security guards pushed us outta there. A security guard and a stupid guy almost got in a major fist fight. That was pretty cool. Then after the show we got to talk to Davey and Jade, that made my day. Then everything came spiriling down to an end and we drove home, took a shower and went to bed.
