    Slackerbeyondpost

by Tothemaximum on 2/11/13Irving Plaza powered by Klipsch - New York

Great view. Sat like a lazy bum in the balcony. Drinks all night. Family and friends all around. Couldn't have asked for anything better. Movement and sound rhymes. Jerome is a man among some great people. Freaks and geeks coexisted wonderfully. Smiles are all I saw. I'll be back next year if I remember.

I got there late, around 9:45, but got to hear a few songs from the new album and a few of the classics! The show wrapped up around 11 and the merch was really well priced! Awesome show, really hope he decides to come back thru, St Pete was happy to have him!!

Aesop exceeded my already high expectations

by ibreakbanjos on 8/6/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Edison and DTS started the show off right. Both killing it and setting up nicely for Aesop. Aesop did not disappoint.

    Aesop Rock Melts Faces

by MCfacepalm on 8/4/12Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Aesop rock melted everyones faces off. best show ever. I can't recall the name of the opening act, but not because they were bad. I just cant recall there name right now. Aesop Rock will inspire you, not only in life, but in your choice to grow facial hair as well.

Decent show but audio was lacking

by Sisyfist on 7/16/12El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

The show started an hour and a half late. I don't mean it took that long for Aesop to come out, I mean the crowd was literally just standing there waiting for 90 minutes, with no opening act or even a DJ. I understand that shows rarely start on time, but at least give the audience SOME kind of entertainment while they wait. When Aes and Rob finally did take the stage, I was very disappointed in the vocal mix. It was completely incomprehensible because it was so muddy. If you didn't know the lyrics to a song already, you weren't going to understand a single word. All of this could have been fixed with just a minute or two of tinkering with the EQ, but no one took it upon themselves to make this happen. Ultimately, I felt like DJ Big Wiz stole the show because all you could hear was the beat anyway. Aes and Rob gave a decent performance, although the set-list could have used some tinkering. To be fair, this was the first show of the tour, so hopefully they'll get into the swing of things (and take 10 damn minutes to do a proper soundcheck.)

    A truly underrated performer!

by DougEDougie on 7/16/12El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

Aesop keeps the party going on through this hour-plus set, featuring Rob Sonic and DJ Big Wiz, as the combined effort known as Hail Mary Mallon. Aes performed most of his new album "Skethon", but mixed in a couple of Hail Mary Mallon songs from their 2011 album "Are You Going To Eat That?" - a very rewarding treat! The crowd was entertained thoughout, and I for one cannot wait for Aes Rock to roll through LA again.

    Twas Great.

by MusicForEarthworms on 5/18/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

Very very good if you are already a huge fan. Not a very big stage presence, but it's not needed when you're this talented. Highly recommended.

Aesop's fallen off. The venue was oversold too because it was nearly impossible to see.

Kimya was amazing! The Altar bar is a bad venue!

by BigFootAllegheny on 5/18/11Altar Bar - Pittsburgh

I went to see Kimya Dawson and wasn't very family with the other performers. Kimya was amazing and friendly to the audience. Aesop rock seemed nice, though they weren't my style. However, I wouldn't go back the Altar Bar. The doormen were rude and cocky. I would recommend a friend seeing Kimya. But I would advise all of my friends to never step foot into the Altar Bar.

    A Rare Blast

by gjpapa on 5/17/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

Great to see Aesop (for the first time) after being a fan for almost 10 years! I don't know how many shows these guys do, but this performance was TIGHT. Heavy on the newer stuff, which is cool, but loved the "going way back" to Labor Days vintage. "Yes Sir!"

    Such an incredible show

by BeccaLevy on 5/16/11Bowery Ballroom - NEW YORK

I was not at all expecting Kimya Dawson and Aesop Rock to be such a perfect pair. They had a really unique sound and excellent energy. Big Wiz and Rob Sonic also killed it. Everyone onstage was so unbelievably talented and excited about what they do. Also, the Bowery has a beautiful sound system. I was standing in the balcony above the stage and the bass made the whole floor vibrate. It was glorious. This was one of the best, highest energy shows, I have been to in an incredibly long time.

The show did not disappoint - Aesop and Kimya started off the show which was cool and it just continued from there.
