    What a joke

by Jen on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Worst festival I have ever been to. They had big bar tents set up right in front of the main stage so it blocked the view. Not to mention the stage was so low you couldnt see anything anyway. They barely had any vendors. All the lines for food or merch were over an hour long. There was no toilet paper in any porta potty. Ive been to 30 more than 30 festivals in my life, this was easily the worst one.

    Great beach festival

by DavieDarko on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Absolutely fantastic time. Total Warped Tour vibes and the beach was a great touch. Haven’t had this much fun at a festival in a while. I hope they make this a yearly thing. I’d make this my yearly Memorial Day weekend.

Great show, great sound, poor layout.

by Tom on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

The enviornment, bands, and food were amazing. The setup with a single mech location causing foot traffic to stop through the concert was poorly planned. The vip set up to take half the stage with no merch on the second day was odd. The 2ndary stages were pressed againste ach other and made for planning to watch specific artists difficult. The music was awesome, the sound around the beach was perfect. The food vendors were awesome and the entry was quick and well done. Mobility around the concert was its weakpoint.

    10/10 would go again

    by HD on 5/31/23

This was my first festival experience and I was amazed and impressed with how comfortable and easy the weekend was for me. They certainly did the right thing by giving VIP Pit Pass holders access to the VIP entrance, it made a world of a difference. My literal only complaint is that the merch line was absolutely horrendous. Day 1 there were no lines, everyone just crowded to the tent and it was not efficient at all. Day 2 they set up lines, but the lines were still hours long. I literally stood in line for 2 hours and 17 minutes (I actually counted after hearing from others that it was long). I do wish that the last sets of the days ended earlier in the night, most attendees were at an age where it’s difficult to stay up that long to see the full headlining act if it’s too late at night. The info tent had sunscreen for people to use which was incredibly generous and helpful. I also used ADA accommodations while I was there and I had wonderful experiences with all of the ADA staff. ADA seating areas were in easily accessible locations and had great views of the stages. By the way, Jeff Rosenstock and the Front Bottoms had the absolute best sets of the entire festival, and I was barely fans of them prior to watching their sets. I do wish there was a little more of the hard platform they put over the sand spread around more of the festival grounds. It was much easier to walk on than the sand. I also wish that the festival could maybe be held later in the summer so that it’s warm enough to swim!! But then again, it was nice that it wasn’t scorching hot outside. Overall amazing experience and i’m very grateful. I sincerely hope that they hold this festival again next year. The water stations were great and though I did see some super long lines at some, I think it was because other people weren’t aware of the locations of the other stations. Lastly, I would like to make mention of a discord channel created called the Festiverse. There is a specific subchannel for Adjacent in the Festiverse, and prior to and during the fest, attendees we’re communicating with eachother there to exchange important tips and information. There was one moderator in the group named Kaitlyn (her username is HowdyKaitlyn) and she was a god send. She said she didnt directly work with the festival but had a lot of connections for festival workers and was able to get us answer to questions that we otherwise wouldn’t have known about. Seriously the work this lady was doing online to make sure all attendees were informed and comfortable was incredible and I hope that she can be compensated for it or recognized for it in some way. ** Hey Live Nation, please consider these acts next year ily- Mom Jeans, Microwave, Pierce the Veil, Glass Animals, King Gizzard, Modest Mouse, STRFKR, Hot Mulligan, Free Throw, etc.**

    Adjacent Review

by Roman on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

For 300 bucks or whatever the 2 day pass was, the line up did not meet the hype in my opinion. No one said Aerosol Sunscreen was not permitted on any of the websites. Other than that, the amount of vendors was great.

The Scene and East Coast needed this

by C. O. on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Bring it back for 2024, it was freaking great and it'll be even better with the room for improvement you got. Stellar lineup, and setting. Great music and great weather. Adjacent!!!!

    Amazing experience!

Nothing like a concert on the beach! Lots of talented musicians, it was fun to hear some new music!

    Very good

by Zach on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

A second merch line open to the public would’ve helped. Try and stop people from smoking a bit more. More water stations also would have helped but other than these things it was great experience and you guys did a good job.

    Overall Success

by Julian on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Overall I’d say the first Adjacent was a success, but there’s still room to improve. Entry was easy, only issue I had was that aerosol sunscreens were not allowed and confiscated. This was not specified beforehand. Vendors and food were great, staff was great, there were a few issues with mixing on multiple stages. The first day water stations were a bit of an issue considering we were on a beach in the heat. The following day more spouts were added at water stations but I think there should have been at least one more station than what was provided. Merch was crazy. The first day I heard people waiting 2.5-3 hours in line. I ended up waiting day 2 about two hours for merch. I think there needs to be more than 4 people running the booth at a time. Lineups were good, it’s probably personal opinion but there are a few bands from the side stages that could’ve replaced a few main stage acts. If the lineup stays the same as far as diversity of music I’d definitely go again. One thing I did really like about the side stages is that they felt one stage that rotated hands quickly, I was able to enjoy some new music while having a decent spot for the next act to come on comfortably without rushing because of that. Overall I’d say 8/10 for the first year.

    Excellent, Good. Amazing.

by Squiint on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

For a first year festival, it was an amazing experience. Main stage was most definitely a “you had yo be there” moment. The side stages too, they had amazing audio and stage production! Walking on the sand from stages was a little tough but nothing you wouldn’t get over once you got to the other stage.

Not bad, but could have been much better

by Doyle on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Lets get the good out of the way, the lineup was amazing, food choices were great, the view on the beach was fun, and getting in and out was really easy. However, the layout of the grounds was not good at all. Long lines for merch clogged up the main walkway between the 2 ends of the grounds. In addition, there were too few water stations, which caused more lines to build up, causing more backups. Additionally, there were no signs for water stations making them hard to miss. Sound was also an issue in many places at the main stage, If you were on the right side at the rail right behind the WAY TOO BIG VIP area, you couldn't hear very well, however, if you moved maybe 50 feet back, it sounded much better, more speakers spread out would have helped with that a lot. A lot of small quality of life improvements would make it better, more speakers spread out at the main stage, more room for GA at the main stage too, more water stations that are clearly labelled so you don't miss them, relocating the merch tent so it doesn't cause traffic jams.

Sandy Buns and Rock in The Sun

by Ally Yab on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

AdjACent Fest was so much fun! Day 2 was far more exciting than day one in my opinion but that's just my personal music taste. PUP on day one was amazing. Wheatus was a great time, paramore was fantastic too. Day 2 came and EVERYONE was fantastic. So much energy. So much fun! About Beauty did makeup for free which was fun! Ghost energy drink was there and though i didnt get to try any because they quickly ran out, the swag they gave was really fun especially the sunscreen they gave! Day one bathroom situation was a nightmare. They ran out of TP so fast and a bunch of the porta potties were over flowing...NASTY! Day 2 they seemed to be so much more on top of it. They had a free water filling station which was a life saver. Day 2 they added extra spickets you could fill your water bottles at and that was great. Sand is hard to walk in and even more difficult to dance and mosh in but it didnt seem to stop anyone....though my legs have been on fire since the festival hahaha. All in all, id totally go again.

    (Almost) perfect

by J on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

The festival was so much fun. Honestly, my only major complaint is more merch stands. There shouldn’t be one line for merch for every band in the festival. Each band should have their own merch stand so there isn’t a 2 hour way for a t shirt. And better communication between staff. Lots of confusing in what you can or can’t do because you get a different answer from each person. The show itself was amazing though and a lot of fun!!

    Poor

by Saddened Guest on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Poor sound system, poor sound quality. Too much base. I bought a 2 day ticket, and only went 1 day because I was highly disappointed by the number of “technical difficulties.”

    Adjacent Festival 2023

by Ryan K on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Both days the bands were GREAT! Paramore needs to stick to the music and stay out of politics. All exits should have been available to use at the end of the night. That’s all I got.

    Unorganized

by Bill on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

Paid a pretty penny for Super VIP only to find out the VIP lounge was closer and we were confined to a small pit off to the side of the stage. Not to mention the amount of people sneaking in to VIP because nobody was checking.

    Could use improvement

by Sgala on 5/31/23Atlantic City Beach - Atlantic City

The merch line was absolutely horrendous, hours and hours for a shirt only to finally get your turn and it’s gone. Not enough water stations, no toilet paper, main entrance way too crowded and staff not trained the same. There should be a line for people who don’t need drinking wristbands so they don’t have to wait for everyone to get their ids checked. Several merch tents and less bars.
