About

Lurching back into Chicago for a return engagement, THE ADDAMS FAMILY is a smash-hit musical comedy that brings the darkly delirious world of Gomez, Morticia, Uncle Fester, Grandma, Wednesday, Pugsley and, of course, Lurch to spooky and spectacular life. This magnificently macabre new musical comedy is created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, Drama Desk-winning composer/lyricist Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party), choreographer Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys) and Olivier Award-winning director/designers Phelim McDermott & Julian Crouch (Shockheaded Peter) with creative consultation by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks. Come meet the family. We'll leave the lights off for you.

    Addams Family Evening

by CriticB on 12/29/11Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Props were excellent; singing was good but too much at times; story plot could have used some salt; characters did a good job; all characters were good except for the character "Wednesday" ... who wasn't convincing enough.

    Adams Family

The play was good but a little long, meaning boring. Some of the one-liners are a bit too corny. I would not recommend it.

    Addams Family Musical 12/2011

by Mopaar on 12/29/11Cadillac Palace - Chicago

The cast was fantastic -- the musical iteself, not so much. There was no big showstopper; the catchiest song, "When You're an Addams" opens the show. The story was all over the place and it was hard to follow. There were laugh out loud funny moments but overall the musical was just okay. And I'm sad to say that because I was really looking forward to seeing it.

Really enjoyed the great sence of humor the entire show lots of great singing and dancing but the ending with the morals of happinees love and family conquer over all else was great. Would really like too see it have a much longer run in Chicago!

by Lilli on 12/29/11Cadillac Palace - Chicago

This was such a great play.. Every actor/actress did a fabulous job portraying their character and they were all clearly very talented. . It was a very funny, lighthearted play with a crisp and clever story line. It exceeded my expectations.... we enjoyed it tremendously.

    Could have been a story

    by tark55 on 12/29/11Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Could have included better lurch in the story, more quick wit, no morticia french, just not enough of what made this show great

Finding something that our whole family, including our 17 year old daughter & 15 year old son, enjoys can be tricky. The Addams Family fit the bill, it was enjoyed by all!
