Show rocked, but crowd was lame.
by TKANGER on 7/10/09Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal CityWalk - Universal CityRating: 4 out of 5This show was awesome. All bands sounded marvelous and they really put on a solid show. Cutting Crew, one of my favorite bands, from the 80s opened up the show and Wang Chung was simply spot on. It was truly a great concert with great performances. The one thing that was VERY disappointing had nothing to do with the show or the music but rather the crowd. I could not believe how rude and disrespectful many of the audience members were. The crowd in the pit, instead of pumping up the performers and bouncing off the energy of the performers felt inclined to stand back like deadbeats and spend the time videotaping the performers. These rock bands feed off the energy of the crowds and except for a few numbers, they were simply lethargic. I felt bad for some of the performers who really put their heart and soul in their music and came in with a lot of energy. For those who don't want to get into the music and choose to videotape instead, do us all a favor and watch your concerts on DVD.
