A little stiff in the beginning

by ABBAfan on 4/16/24Scherr Forum- B of A Performing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

Overall we enjoyed the show. Five of us in our party, ranging from early 30's to mid-70's, all love ABBA. I would say everyone enjoyed the sow very much. First half of the show the ladies were a little stiff and some of the arm movements were too repetitive. They were also having sound issues (not the singers fault) which was distracting. It took them a bit to loosen up and get in the groove. Second act was terrific. The ladies seemed to really loosen up and were more engaged with the audience. Sound issues were obviously fixed. The ladies sounded great. This show was in a small theater so their interaction with the audience down front was great. Now the band. THEY WERE FANTASTIC! The bass player was jamming. The drummer, smashingly good. Our Benny and Bjorn, amazing. Those guys can play.

They sang 5 or so songs neither my boy friend or I had ever heard. We came to hear the songs they made popular which we knew and loved.

    Bang for the buck!

Very hard working and very talented group of entertainers! The vocals actually sounded better than ABBA. ABBA L.A. really brought it the whole two hours. Fun concert.

    ABBA

by S. P. on 3/22/22Scherr Forum- B of A Performing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks - Thousand Oaks

This was the first concert we went to since before COVID. We were so looking forward to it. The theater is lovely. You can see the stage from anywhere. However, the concert was way too loud for the room. It gave me a migraine. Use the theater for either a lecture series or a small softer band. I love ABBA songs but couldn’t enjoy the performance. We left during intermission.

    Great show, excellent acoustics!

Enjoyed the show very much. The only drawback is staff asked people not to dance on the aisle. I've been to a lot of Abba tributes and audience dancing was the norm or probably one the reasons people bought tickets. What's the point of asking people to stop dancing?
