About

Getting away with murder can be so much fun… and there’s no better proof than the knock-‘em-dead hit show that’s earned unanimous raves and won the 2014 Tony Award® for BEST MUSICAL—A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER!

Coming direct from New York, where a most gentlemanly NPR critic said he’d “NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD AT A BROADWAY MUSICAL,” GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by – you guessed it – eliminating the eight pesky relatives (all played by one fearless man) who stand in his way. All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress (she’s after more than just love), his fiancée (she’s his cousin but who’s keeping track?), and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea
.
The Hollywood Reporter raves, “GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE RESTORES OUR FAITH IN MUSICAL COMEDY” and The New York Times cheers, “IT WILL LIFT THE HEARTS OF ALL THOSE WHO’VE BEEN PINING FOR WHAT SOMETIMES SEEMS A LOST ART FORM.”

Kindly get your tickets now for the new musical that will have you dying with laughter!

Loved, Loved Loved it! Great acting and singing. Very funny. A lot of fun. There was never a point where it dragged. Very entertaining. Highly recommended. Can't think the last time I enjoyed a musical as much as I did this on.

Great play. The men and women worked very hard on their parts and it all came together. Good sound and music arrangements also.

Would see it again and again

by twohamsinacan on 10/6/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Truly a fabulous experience. Witty, clever, creative - the adjectives go on and on. Fantastic cast, marvelous set, direction to die for. The projections were terrific and added so much to the show. We did download the cast album before attending since we knew it was fast-paced and in an English accent. Listening to the songs beforehand prepared us for the story line, but we were still taken away with the story. What a lovely show!

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - Not good!

by CM0906 on 10/6/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I would not recommend this show. The acting was okay but the show itself was poorly written and crude. The music was weak and the story line was poorly executed. I would not recommend this show to family or friends.

by busterj5 on 10/6/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Funny and creative. Lots of good laughs. A great combination of old and new theater technology worked well together. The cast was energetic. Kevin Massey funny and cute. The theatre seating was tight but good view of the stage. Staff at the theater were very courteous and helpful.

    Happy little Black Comedy...

by Laxfans on 10/6/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

We enjoyed the play immensely. The singing, acting, staging, and writing was all well paced and kept us laughing on the edge of our seats. Spoiler** Our respect for the audience dipped a lot when the cast was taking their bows. The pretty girls and the male lead got rousing applause, but when the most versatile actor came out, who had played 10 different roles really well, he barely got a nod. I guess those in the seats were a little slow on the uptake!

    GGTL&M was great!

by cubbyblue on 10/5/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

I wasn't sure what to expect because I didn't know the story (and nothing was written in the program). But the music was great, the lyrics were funny, the actors were great, and the staging was fantastic. It was amazing what they did with a small stage setting.

We sprang for the VIP Suite and it was really worth it. [Especially the private restroom and the intermission!!] The production was really great; the acting very good and the music was entirely enjoyable. Very funny & extremely well done. The Bank of America Theatre was a very nice venue.

    Excellent

by BLandry on 10/5/15Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Absolutely terrific. This was an experience that I will never forget. I got the tickets and was looking forward to the show, but mainly I was doing for my wife and our anniversary. I never would have thought I would have enjoyed it as much as I did. It was absolutely fantastic. The cast was amazing and the plot of the show kept me interested the whole time.
