About

Join the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as they lead the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge on a journey of transformation and redemption. Originally conceived by Michael Baron, this music-infused production captures the magic and joy of Dickens's Yuletide classic. Acclaimed Washington stage actor Edward Gero returns to play Scrooge in the production The Washington Post hailed as "musically high-spirited" and "infectiously jolly."

    I cried like a baby

by MDBaltimore on 12/25/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

Even though I practically know the story and the words by heart, this production is so well done and so memorizing that tears were streaming down my face. The worst part of the experience was purchasing the tickets through this site, when their computer system crashed after I secured the last two adjoining seats for my wife's 50th birthday. Three days later, I got a phone message lnforming me that I no longer had secured seats and that interfere to re-purchase the tickets. Due to their glitch, there were no longer seats together. Poor customer service at this web site. In the future, I will go straight to the box office or use a competitors site. The play was fabulous.

What a perfectly delightful portrayal of Dicken's classic tale. I've been too long away from Ford's Theater.

    Fantastic performance

by JudyFur on 12/23/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This was the best performance of "A Christmas Carol," I have seen. It was a musical version and done perfectly. We sat in the left Orchestra section, row O, which is the very last row of seats, separate from the standard theater seats. These are single chairs and can be moved freely, which is very easy to move about and gave us plenty of space. Unfortunately, the view of the upper part of the stage is blocked by the balcony, and we had to bend forward to see all of the Ghost of Christmas Present which floated high up above the stage. That was a bit of a pain and I would prefer a better view to accommodate the $70 ticket price, but I did like the room and individual chair that wasn't attached to another seat. Ford's theater is very small, historical, and beautiful. It's worth a visit to appreciate the historical value on its own. An inspirational museum is located below the theatre that is a must see. This is a great show and a holiday tradition that should be seen at least once in Washington, D.C.

    A definete winter feeling

    by Fred222333 on 12/22/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

The play was excellent, however, it was freezing in the theatre. I think everyone that walked in with a coat, kept it on during the entire performance.

    Wonderful experience!

by CapnSteve on 12/21/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

The total experience of my first time at Ford's Theater was just wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful and a delight to be around. The museum in the lower level encompasses far more than I expected and I wish I had more time to just soak that in. The theater itself is beautiful and the show was performed most excellently! I just can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the evening.

    Bravo

by polliwog on 12/20/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This show was fabulous. I have seen Christmas Carol plays and have loved them so wondered if I would enjoy this one. But this was a moving rendition with great talent and special affects. The costumes and set detail was a plus to the execution of the play as well. It was certainly a good way to get into the Christmas Spirit. I loved the music they added and the dancing.

    A Christmas Carol production great!

by Choate on 12/20/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

Ford's Theatre is a beautiful venue; the park ranger talk in the theatre and Peterson's house across the street where President Lincoln was taken after being shot are both must sees. The Christmas Carol was a terrific production with carols interspersed thought-out the Dickens' tale.

    A Magical Evening

    by soccergirl123 on 12/20/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

We have been taking our children who are now adults to see A Christmas Carol at Ford's Theatre for many years. We have always left feeling blessed to have taken part in such a wonderful Christmas season event! This year we took my Aunt and her son and they were amazed and far surpassed their expectations! While the show has always been excellent, this years cast and special effects were better than I've seen in a long time. The actor that played Scrooge was wonderful. Thank you again for giving our family so much joy!

I took my 3 kids to see A Christmas Carol. My boys complained when I told them we were going to the show. By the end, they loved it! They said they want to see it every year. I would recommend it to anyone. It was fantastic.

    Fantastic Performance!

    by CarlaS83 on 12/19/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

We went Wed night to see this play in this historical theatre. Everything about the show was wonderful. The actors were all awesome from the small Tiny Tim to Scrooge himself - all so believable in their parts and really made you feel you were part of the show. The set was truly amazing for such a small area - we all loved the picture of Marley over the fireplace mantel and the last ghost who looked like a death eater from Harry Potter - very cool! The cast sang wonderful Christmas songs before the show truly began to the very end which was awesome way to really get into the holiday spirit. And then on top of all of that to have the opportunity to be In the same theatre as Lincoln even though it was tragic - it was still pretty awesome to think he saw many productions in the same place.

    Perfect for Christmas time

    by BuckeyeGuy23123 on 12/19/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

The play was entertaining and the perfect length. Ford's theater is an awesome venue for the history alone but also small and very intimate. Hard to get a bad seat.

by Wowzr on 12/19/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This is my favorite Christmas story. The cast and the props were incredible! With limited space on the stage, how the play flowed when brought together between changes of the scene were very enjoyable! I loved the songs. Thank you so much for a very spectacular evening!
