About

Join the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future as they lead the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge on a journey of transformation and redemption. Originally conceived by Michael Baron, this music-infused production captures the magic and joy of Dickens's Yuletide classic. A Christmas Carol Delightful

    by 1975Reunited on 1/3/16Ford's Theatre - Washington

The cast, sets, costumes were superb! We thoroughly enjoyed this retelling of Dickens and it was a great way to round out 2015 with their NYE & last performance for the season. We'd most definitely see this show again & will recommend it to everyone!

    A Broadway(esque) Production!

    by Ninas9 on 1/2/16Ford's Theatre - Washington

We went to see this twice because we had friends that wanted us to go with them after they heard us rave about it. The theater is pretty cold so definitely take warm outerwear. The seats are at least 30 years old and are not very comfortable but there is an intermission and unless you have major issues with sitting, it isn't a big consideration. The storyline followed very closely but was just different enough to keep our interest throughout. The set design was so well done that it fit every scene with minimal changes and the cast was absolutely outstanding. You don't even realize that some of them portray different characters throughout the play. Truly professional and a perfect Christmas presentation! They do not allow you to take any pictures or videos of the characters so the only picture is of the stage set prior to the opening scene.

Wonderful Theatre experience for the Christmas!

by OracleofCollegePark on 1/2/16Ford's Theatre - Washington

Music was excellent, the acting was good and overall experience very satisfying. My niece, Ella Gatlin was on the cast 3 of the last 4 years and of course we loved her contributions. The actor who plays the Scrooge is the star and he is experienced and a very professional. Highly recommended but you may have missed your opportunity as it's run maybe over at Fords Theatre.

A Must See for the Family to Do List

    by Bandmom22 on 1/1/16Ford's Theatre - Washington

It was a great show. We took the whole family and everyone loved it....even the ones who never go to plays. They really like the movie, which is a family tradition on Christmas eve and they weren't sure how this show would measure up and it did not disappoint. Another new family tradition has been created!

    Brought tears to my eyes

by Christmarty on 1/1/16Ford's Theatre - Washington

I would highly recommend this to anyone that hasn't seen it! I loved how the actors engaged in the audience in the beginning of the show and we sang together at the end of the show. I enjoyed the Christmas carols throughout the production. Tiny Tim's sentiments brought tears to my eyes at the end of the show.

    First-rate Production!

by FallsChurchSpirit on 12/29/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

We have seen "A Christmas Carol" at Ford's Theatre three times, the first about 15 years ago, the second six years ago and the third a few days ago. Although the earlier productions were fine, the current production is amazing. The acting is excellent, the staging and special effects are wonderful, and the actors engage you even before the play begins. The Christmas Carols are wonderfully interwoven throughout the play. It is a first-rate production. I highly recommend it, not only as a Christmas tradition, but as a stand-alone play.

This is our fourth year into an annual Christmas Tradition and will continue for years to come. Each year I look for something I did not notice the year before, and this year was no disappointment. Great fun the whole family loves. Start your family tradition.

A Christmas Carol At Ford's Theatre Amazing!!!!!!!

by DCFanVA on 12/29/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

The Broadway worthy production really filled the intimate setting of the Ford's Theatre with Christmas mystery and cheer. The settings and special effects were well beyond what you'd expect to take place in an old historic theatre. The singing really puts one in the holiday spirit. Amazing is Edward Gero as Ebenezer Scrooge. The rest of the cast was absolutely perfect as well! We are so lucky here in DC to have this as an annual tradition.

    Great Christmas Feel

by Pelenor on 12/26/15Ford's Theatre - Washington

This classic is brought to life but a wonderful cast in a historic setting. The small scale of the theater fits well this production as the closeness of the audience adds to the feel. The adults and children alike were accomplished and you left with an overwhelming sense of holiday cheer. I would highly recommend for anybody looking for a true feel of Christmas.
