About

Key alumni musicians of David Bowie’s bands from across the decades come together anchored by his longest-standing and most frequent band member, keyboardist Mike Garson, joined by amazing former band alumni including Gerry Leonard, Carmine Rojas, Mark Plati and drummer Lee John.

A Bowie Celebration features an unforgettable and critically-acclaimed evening with world-class vocalists, such as legendary rock group Living Colour’s Corey Glover and crowd favourite, Joe Sumner (he is Sting’s son in all ways) along with some special guests to be announced – with a mix of top hits and deep cuts, it’s Bowie friends, playing Bowie music, in true Bowie style

It Doesn't Get Better Than This

by Claudacious on 2/10/19Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

What a show! Outstanding performances from David Bowie's former band members plus special guest artists! Phenomenal! All of David Bowie's great music plus the background stories about the songs plus the incredible musicians and singers made for a perfect night of fun. Great drinks in the bar! And the setting of the gorgeous, historic Orpheum Theatre, made me swoon. They even have an elevator operator! I will be there the next time they are in town.

    PHENOMENAL

by tainbey on 2/10/19Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

an amazing rock and roll experience through the catalog of David Bowie's music, a man who transformed from one character to another as he traveled through life, and beyond, the band was tight and right in the pocket and being an LD the lighting was stupendous, as well as the sound, I went to last year's celebration, and the Holy Holy gig, but this one was even better and as long as the chameleon's music is here he will be celebrated for his legacy..."knowledge comes with death's release"...DB

    Awesome evening

    by C. M. on 2/10/19Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

It was an amazing evening of acoustic music and great singers. The venue is so special. It was great to see the band members and enjoy the Bowie songs. I only wish it started earlier. So late for a work night. 😁

    A Bowie celebration to remember

by Steph on 2/10/19Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

The played all my favorite Bowie songs which included the less popular ones like Win and Candidate/Sweet Thing. The musicians were all so amazing and Bernard Fowler has a powerful beautiful voice. Its great that they keep singing and playing David Bowie songs as it keeps his spirit alive.

    Fun for all...

by Mrsnotthouse on 10/3/18Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

Touching tribute. Son and I sang along and danced. Small venue, intimate...nice! Would come again as there are so many more Bowie songs that weren’t played. We loved it!

    NOT a Bowie Experience

by stemcell on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

This event is advertised as a "Bowie Experience" with "members of David Bowie's band" but it really wasn't either in my opinion. There were 2 guys who had done some recording and concerts with Bowie, a little misleading to make it sound like you're getting more than that. The music itself was just okay. Really no better than any decent "tribute" band. There was one guitar player who spent most of his time adjusting and tuning his instrument and strutting around the stage like he was the star of the show. I'm not sure if he contributed anything at all. The vocals were VERY disappointing to say the least. To make all of this even worse, the technical portion of the sound mixing was really off. Often times someone would start singing and their microphone was off, or someone would play a solo with their instrument sound levels very low. These less than desirable details made the experience NOT Bowie for sure. I wasted my money on two 6th row seat, and wanted to leave 45 minutes into the concert. My advice, stay away from this train wreck!

    Bad sound quality

by Katness on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Earl Slick's guitar was barely audible till the very last 2 songs of the show- super disappointing!!

    Nothing but fun!

by BlogDawg on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

When you are at an outdoor venue, next to the bay, with sailing masts all around you, you are off to a good start. But when the band comes out and just delivers a night of great Bowie music with surprise guests, it's nothing but fun! Great, heartfelt performances!

The Love for Bowie was Infectious

by MakenzieMuse on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

I've seen A Bowie Celebration/Celebrating David Bowie three times now and I never fail to be totally moved to tears by the performance. Everyone is full of exaltation and love for David and it helps fill the void that has been left since his passing. Mike Garson is like the cool uncle everyone always wanted. I love hearing him tell David stories too; it's like a little sneak peak into his world. Bernard Fowler is an amazing front man. Earl Slick is a true rock star. Evan Rachel Wood did not disappoint. Joe Sumner held his own performing Aladdin Sane. Earl Slick's son was great on drums. Just an overall great performance. Top notch venue as well. We'll be back for sure.

A true Celebration of David Bowie

by OliverClosoff on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Phenomenal show at always intimate Humphrey's Concerts by the Bay. Now despite the minimal use of backup singers and perhaps a saxophone contribution here or there the musicianship, set list and vocal fill-ins were impeccable. In some cases just as Bowie himself would appreciate, the reinterpretations of some of the lesser known works blew me away. It's a can't miss if you anything close to a serious Bowie fan.

    Bowie Celebration at Humphrey's

by UNGUARDEDMOMENT on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

An amazing time!!! This was my second time seeing the Bowie Celebration and it was just as amazing as the first time. The only negative thing I'd have to say about Humphrey's is that the chairs are way too close together and they're kind of uncomfortable. I'd actually rather stand for 2 hours.

    A Bowie Celebration Worth Celebrating

by DEW4DB on 10/1/18Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Absolutely incredible! Wonderful venue and amazing energy of the talented ensemble brings Bowie tunes, mainstays and lesser knowns, to life! My favorite, "5 Years", brought down the house! These artists reflect the classic song they ended with... Heroes!

    Disappointing

by Leveled1 on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Performers were good but definitely not great. Changes sounded like bad karaoke. Biggest complaint were the order songs were played. They needed to make the encore songs fun and outbeat so we walked out of there still singing the song all the way home. The piano solo didn’t belong as an encore either, loved it but should have been played earlier.

An amazing night of Bowie music!

by CelMal on 10/1/18Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

Bowie would have been proud at the show these musicians put together. The passion and love for these songs in evident. Amazing show! We will see them again in Mesa AZ next year.
