THE UNTOLD TRUE STORY OF A BROOKLYN KID WHO BECAME A CHART-BUSTING, SHOW-STOPPING, AWARD-WINNING AMERICAN ICON

Created in collaboration with Neil Diamond himself, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE is the uplifting true story of how a kid from Brooklyn became a chart-busting, show-stopping American rock icon. With 120 million albums sold, a catalogue of classics like "America," "Forever in Blue Jeans," and "Sweet Caroline," an induction into the Songwriters and Rock and Roll Halls of Fame, a Grammy® Lifetime Achievement Award, and sold-out concerts around the world that made him bigger than Elvis, Neil Diamond's story was made to shine on Broadway-and head out on the road across America.

Like Jersey Boys and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical before it, A BEAUTIFUL NOISE THE NEIL DIAMOND MUSICAL is an inspiring, exhilarating, energy-filled musical memoir, that tells the untold true story of how America's greatest hitmaker became a star, set to the songs that defined his career.

  • Love Neil Diamond !

by Betty on 1/15/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

The cast was great and music wonderful. People at DPAC could not be more friendly and helpful. We were in the balcony and it wasn’t as enjoyable as being closer to the stage.

  • Just Okay

by TheeCW on 1/13/25Rating: 3 out of 5

I’m a big fan of theatre so perhaps my bar is set too high but I thought A Beautiful Noise was just okay. I had anticipated seeing it after DPAC (Durham, NC) announced it as part of our season but I was underwhelmed. Particularly with the first act in which I thought several scenes dragged on for too long. The musical numbers were great and the scenes were better in the second act, however. A second criteria I use is how the cast interacts with the audience while the tours are in town; during the show, posts on social media, and even stage door if they participate. I typically do stage door and also post a “Playbill pic” after each show on social media. While I understand I attended the first of two shows that day and I also understand members of the company are on a tight schedule, there is no excuse for CREW members with the tour to not be able to communicate to us that company members would not be participating in stage door. After the performance I attended, I went to the stage door knowing full well it may or may not happen. However, I stood there alongside about seven of my fellow audience members hoping to see at least some of the company come outside for a minute. It didn’t happen and this was also never communicated to us, despite several crew members coming outside and either looking puzzled when folks asked or ignoring us completely. All while we are standing in the cold and wind clearly waiting to see if the company would participate. It soured what was a decent show for me, hence why I knocked my rating down to three stars instead of my original rating of four stars. This is definitely a show I don’t need to see again.

  • Interesting and moving

by JohnRovi on 1/10/25DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5

I have a concern that some of the shows being concocted these days are flimsy excuses to play a particular artist's songs, and that concern was particularly high for this show. Thankfully, the "thread"used to pull us through the story of Neil Diamond's life is quite profound and really works, and the artist who sings young Neil is first-rate. He really has the style, almost to an uncanny degree. So, this show is highly recommended, it was a very enjoyable night, and the music was front and center but wrapped around the crafty spine of the sessions between older Neil and his psychologist. Very satisfying. I'd be glad to see it again. That's the bottom line.

  • A Memorable Performance

by DeeCee on 12/21/24The National Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

We have been fans of Neil Diamond for years and were disappointed to miss the Broadway run of his musical. Eager to see it, we booked a trip from Texas to Washington, D.C. instead of waiting for a performance closer to home! It did not disappoint! Everything about the venue and the musical talents of each actor was exceptional. The unfolding of his story alongside the songs we loved was beautifully done. Since seeing this memorable musical, we have shared our experience with many people and will likely see it again if the opportunity arises.

A Beautiful Noise about Neil Diamond is one of the best artist tribute musicals ever, ranking up there with Jersey Boys.

For any Neil Diamond fan this is a treat. We were certainly not disappointed with Nick Fradiani at the helm as Neil. He was energetic and his voice captured the throaty character of Neil’s voice. The cast was terrific and provided an enjoyable performance.
