About

After releasing a series of acclaimed mixtapes over the previous three years, rapper A$AP Rocky dropped his first official album in 2013, titled Long.Live.A$AP. His already-primed fanbase quickly took to the album, which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 chart. Fans also snapped up tickets as he hit the tour trail hard to support the set, performing concerts at theaters and large clubs with members of his A$AP Mob collective, a group of rappers, producers and others who joined forces in 2007 due to their shared sense of music, art and style. Born Rakim Mayers (named after the Eric B. & Rakim rapper) in Harlem, A$AP Rocky's smooth, slow flow is more heavily influenced by Southern rappers like UGK and Devin the Dude than by New York acts. He began rapping at age eight, and in his late teens turned to the skill as a way out of the lifestyle that had led to the murder of his brother and landed his father in prison. Now that he's a star in his own right and the ringleader of one of hip-hop's most influential collectives, it appears he's found the way.

  • A$AP Killed it

by Anonymous on 12/21/12Newport Music Hall - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Danny Brown opened the event and was pretty good, but when A$AP came on stage the crowd exploded. There was great energy and it was definitely worth going to. I would absolutely go again.

This concert was the BEST concert I have been to! Danny Brown, Schoolboy Q & all of ASAP Mob had incredible performances from beginning to end! They were all hype, interacting with the audience, liveeee, jumping in the crowds .... the show was amazing!

by BeezInTheTrapHouse on 11/20/12The Electric Factory - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Pretty much what I expected. Really great. The waiting times were awkward but I'm glad they played music to jam to while we waited. It was an all around great performance especially with the inclusion of the monologue which I really appreciated. It was like a college experience: twerking and learning all at the same time/place.

A$AP didn't completely disappoint, but his entire "Mob" did. ASAP is an up and coming artist who many paying patrons assumed would be on stage for more than hour. He did not perform like a star, nor did he command the attention of his growing audience and loyalists. He is still making a name for himself and differed too much attention to his MOB, not to himself.

  • A$AP- Best

by Mamicta on 11/19/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

That was my first time at the venue but I liked the atmosphere and the crowd was good. We were a little bit late but were able to make our way throuigh the crowd to get up close to the stage and got great photos of A$AP Rocky, A$AP Mob, and School Boy Q. The concert was everything i figured and more. I'm definitely going to see A$AP again!! Definitely worth the 3 hr drive!! Long Live A$AP!!!

Was an epic night! Prob the best concert I've ever been to (considering the price and the experience)! More of a party than a mere concert! Not a hugh A$AP fan but the performance was five star. Love Schoolboy although he was guest!! Only wish was Q could play more songs =) Loved it. If they come down here again I'd def recommend it to my friends and I'll go again!!

  • Best New Artists

    by GodzChild619 on 11/12/12Roseland Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

These three artists are doing something pretty amazing. They all have interesting flows and lyrics that aren't family friendly but they are breaking down that wall and don't care who it crumbles on. I like that

  • its aight

    by tony823 on 10/26/12Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

It was a good show but I miss the days when rappers came on alone and actually rapped the songs themselves. Too man rappers bring the whole family and they shout over all the lyrics. This was the case at the asap concert. Still a great show! But.... it wouldve been better if a bunch of dudes were 't running around with their shirts off and screaming over asap rocky.

  • Great Concert

by hiphopacademics on 10/26/12Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

These guys put on a great show. Not only was it awesome to see Danny Brown, A$AP Rocky and Schoolboy Q, but they surprised us with Kendrick Lamar, Too Short and E-40. Highly recommend.

schoolboy q had it going on, & kept the crowd going! A$AP wasn't tight, nothing up from the 4/20 show! Back up dudes jumping aroud on stage don't make a show. Love A$AP, wasn't his night, notch slipping event...
