Known for their bold and heavy sonic explorations and constant evolution, The Ocean Collective have performed at renowned European festivals including Hellfest, Wacken, Roskilde, and Pukkelpop, and have shared the stage with fellow renowned heavy bands including Mastodon, Cult Of Luna, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried And Me, and Devin Townsend.

The prolific band has released almost a dozen albums since forming in 2000 and has seen more than 40 members come and go.

The Ocean Collective are known for their mesmerizing and cathartic live performances that transport audience members to another realm. Don't miss your chance to see these heavy music maestros when they come to a city near you.

The Ocean Collective Live in Concert

Founded in Germany in 2000 by guitarist/songwriter Robin Staps, The Ocean Collective has been creating ambitious, heavy "post-metal" music that has earned them a reputation for pushing the entire genre forward into the future.

With a revolving cast of band members who bring their unique talents and put their own distinctive spin on the music, they've released several albums named after the Earth's geological and zoological eras for more than two decades.

The Ocean Collective's 2018 album, Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic, is their eighth studio album, which explores the current Phanerozoic geological eon, with each track title referring to a period of the Paleozoic era. The 2020 companion album, Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic / Cenozoic also references a period of the Mesozoic era and sees the band experimenting with different musical styles, tempos, beats, and electronics. Both records were released by renowned independent metal label Metal Blade Records.

Staps explained the band's mission in their Metal Blade bio, saying they're constantly striving to "get as far away as we can, to bring our music and our lives to the last frontiers which remain in a world where the last square inches of free spaces have been Google-mapped to a frightening high resolution and level of detail."
