In the 1970s, Sammy Hagar made his first appearance in the American rock and roll scene with the band Montrose. Since then, he has launched a hugely successful solo career, which led to his most prominent role as the lead singer of the group Van Halen. This role eventually led him to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 2008, Hagar formed a group called Chickenfoot, which began its tour after their album rose to #4 on the Billboard Top 100. Hagar’s Chickenfoot concerts have a high-energy party atmosphere, where audience members sing and dance along with songs from Hagar’s considerable repertoire. During his concert, Hagar mixes in old classics with new releases, giving audience members no shortage of nostalgia before launching into new jams, followed by a few more classics and so on. Many of his new songs are featured on "Chickenfoot," the premier album for the group, released in June 2009. In November 2012, Chickenfoot released a live album in a limited edition box-set that featured songs from Hagar, as well as other members of the band.
Hagar’s success began in the mid 1970s with his solo career, which spawned some of his most well-known singles, like "Red" and "I Can’t Drive 55." His solo career would lead to him become the replacement lead vocalist in the band Van Halen after David Lee Roth parted ways with with them in 1985. Hagar stayed in this role for the next 10 years and released singles, like "Runaround" and "Poundcake." Hagar is known throughout the past three decades as a Rock and Roll icon, giving ticket buyers a blast from the past, as well as a look into the present during his concerts.
This is the 11th time I’ve seen Sammy over the years with and without Van Halen It is amazing how he still commands the stage I will still be going to any future shows The man is just amazing!!!
THE VENUE IS NEW AND AN AWESOME PLACE TO GO!SAMMY SOUNDED REALLY GOOD THIS TIME THERE!HE WAS ROCKING THE HOUSE!!ALWAYS GO TO SEE HIM WHEN I CAN!
I have seen Sammy Hagar 5 times now over a very long period of time and this was definitely the best show I have seen from him. I have always enjoyed his performance but this one happened to be the best. Every song played was performed like it was to be the last song of the night. They really went all out on every song performed. Very impressive after all these years the entire band continues to deliver such an amazing performance. You can tell they all still enjoy it. The Red Rocker Still Kicks Butt.
Sammy was his awesome self, his son opened up for him, which for his type of Rock was pretty good. Then Sammy came out and "Rocked the House" !!
the venue is great - not a bad seat in the house. The show was fantastic, Sammy did not disapoint!!!
The venue is very nice. The concert was awesome!! Sammy Hagar was off the hook and rockin’ all night long. So much energy!! Loved it!
Sammy and the Circle killed it! Since it wasn’t a tour show they played a lot of songs I never thought I’d get to hear live! The new Venue is awesome!
The concert was superb and the venue good. The bars were too small and understaffed.
The speakers hanging from the ceiling in back for section 4 were 3x louder than anywhere in the venue. The speaker pointed right at us was so loud it was distorting. We could only handle three songs and tried to buy drinks at the bar below as a way to see some of the rest of the show. If you're in section 4 especially mid to back bring ear plugs or hope the sound guy makes adjustments.
I have been to so many Sammy concerts; the first being in the early 1970s. He never fails to but on an amazing show. Such high energy!!! I am Red til I'm Dead! Definitely.
Sammy always puts on a great show. The new Venue at Thunder Valley is amazing and I will be attending more events there. The only drawback is that you have to go through the casino to get to the entrance of the Venue. Upon immediate entrance into the casino my eyes started burning from all the smoke in the casino. Apparently is still OK to smoke in the casino. They should make a separate area for the smokers rather than the non-smokers especially if they are going to expose all the concert goers to the smoke by having to go through the casino to get to the Venue. That's why a 4-star rating rather than a 5-star rating. It was pretty bad.
Great music. Good fun. I never knew Michael Anthony could sing lead like he did on "Ain't talking bout love". Love the mix of Sammy, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Montrose.
Sammy Hagar always puts on a fantastic show. The Thunder Valley Venue was very nice concert venue we just wish they had better food options besides chips and nuts.
Top notch except the cattle hearding experience upon exit the hold up for purse size was excessive for as much as you put down on tickets but other wise good knight out.
One of the best Hard Rock shows I have been to, at the best Venues in the Sacramento area.

Sammy Hagar is like a fine wine “sorry Sammy, I know you sell Tequila and rum” he has gotten better with age! The playlist was amazing taking us through his musical journey and career. He sounded amazing but we can’t leave out his side-man Michael Anthony who took the lead on a few songs when he wasn’t harmonizing with Sammy. Simply put, it was an incredible performance. It’s was great to see Sammy’s son Andrew Hagar as the opener. His performance was great and we would’ve liked it better if we could understand his lyrics and heard his voice more clearly. The new venue at thunder Valley, where the concert was held is absolutely incredible! Probably one of the nicest indoor venues I have been to Effer! The only improvement we felt was the inside bars we’re working to slowly. The bartenders need to be a little faster and also, the equipment was pouring drinks very slow. I think they were having trouble with the guns for liquor and soda but overall, this is a must visit venue! Do not hesitate to see your favorite artist play here at The Venue at Thunder Valley!
Sammy he is always great. However, my seats were horrible due to the fact that I was sitting next to a drunk idiot I didn’t even want to sit in my seat is I did not want to have an altercation. I tried to stand up most of the time, but security should’ve told me that I needed to go sit in my seat so I had to move around a lot. He got so bad that I had to go stand in the lobby and watch the concert on the TV.. I don’t like thunder Valley
The Red Rocker rocked it for the show at the new location at Thunder Valley Casino, The Venue. Unbelievable at 75, Sammy was awesome! The Venue is fabulous, sound is great and you can see from any seat.
We try to see Sammy Hagar 1-2 times each year. He always puts on a fantastic show :) This new venue at thunder valley is awesome !!! Great seats and the sound is amazing !
