Riverdance began its journey as the interval act in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest, produced for television by Moya Doherty. This electrifying and innovative seven minute dance piece was then developed into a full-length stage show by Producer Moya Doherty, Composer Bill Whelan and Director John McColgan. With its fusion of Irish and International music and dance, the show broke all box office records during its world première run in Dublin in early 1995. When the show transferred to London the reaction was unprecedented. There followed a hugely successful tour starting in New York in March 1996, where 8 sold-out shows at Radio City Music Hall heralded the start of two decades of touring by Riverdance companies throughout North America. Since its inception Riverdance has packed theatres throughout North America, Oceania, Asia, Europe, South Africa and South America.
My cousin and I had a blast at this show. She grew up watching the VHS of the original show and I grew up listening to the soundtrack only but have a huge love for Irish music and the dance culture. We had so much fun watching the fancy foot work. We were gushing over the costumes and the sets. I was not expecting to love the soloists as much as I did, I tend to get bored and these guys were awesome! Great show!
Riverdance never fails to entertain. The dancers are amazing and the singers are absolutely beautiful. I have seen the show several times before and again I sat in awe and just enjoyed.
Loved everything about it, the only issue, seating just to crowded.
The 25th anniversary performance is marvelous. The dancers were amazing! The singers had voices like angels, and the musicians were phenomenal! I can't say enough about Riverdance!

The current production of Riverdance was truly awesome. I was so "into" it that it was over before I realized it. The dancing was phenomenal, and the other ethnic touches...Spanish, Russian, American, added so much to the depth of the performance. I originally had seen Riverdance over twenty years ago, and this performance this past Saturday was equal to, and even surpassed that wonderful experience. If you've not experienced Riverdance, I highly recommend that you do.
Riverdance is one of the most entertaining, delightful and thoroughly enjoyable shows I have ever seen. I had a smile on my face throughout the entire performance. Every single person in the show has enormous talent. I can’t believe I never saw it until now. On my All Time Top 5 list!!
So so so so so so good!!!! I hope we get an encore performance later this year; I can't not go when it's here! My 3 1/2 year old niece loved it as well. They've created a new generation of Irish Dance lovers!
The male lead dancer was exceptional, amazing to watch. The tap dancers were an excellent addition to the show, they were exceptional as well! It was interesting to see the two different styles go toe to toe. There was a too much singing (for my liking) although the lead female singer had a beautiful voice, I would have liked to see more dancing and footwork.
We had great seats to this event. The dancing and music were both top notch. Very entertaining!! The tickets were easy to get on Ticketmaster and we got them for a good price. Would definitely go again!!

We just saw Riverdance at the Cadillac Palace in Chicago- amazing show, beautiful venue! The theatre is gorgeous, with beautiful architecture and detail. Can not say enough about the show, as well as the everything about the theatre- great acoustics, great seats, great visual effects! The show felt very intimate despite being sold out! We loved watching our favorite show in such a fantastic venue!
Surprised my wife and her daughter with tickets, and they lived it!
The 25th anniversary performance of Riverdance met all of my expectations. Brought back memories when Flatley was in the show. Would love to see it again.
My husband and I attended Riverdance at the Cadillac Palace Theater last weekend. Every detail of the show was spectacular: the talented dancers, the haunting music, and the incredible set. We were so happy to see that the heart of the show had changed very little in the past couple of decades, but the new and improved backdrops really added to the magic of the performance. We were once again blown away!
Since I missed the original Riverdance, I was thrilled to learn the 25th Anniversary would be performed in Chicago the weekend we were scheduled to be there. The theatre was amazing. The performance was so good! I wanted to jump out of my seat to cheer for the performers. Lots of excitement, electricity, and overall goodness filled the theatre. My recommendation is to go; don't question buying the tickets. You will not be disappointed!
One of the most spectacular shows on earth! I was so impressed I attended both Friday & Sunday shows. No disrespect to PBS but watching a live performance is magical. Great talent, song, dance, instrumentals, folklore, mythology, classical, multicultural skits, lighting, scenery and vibrant costumes all tied together in a beautiful bow. I will defiantly see the Riverdancers again. Best seats is highly recommended.
We enjoyed the show very much. The energy was terrific! The set and visual effects are great. The musicians did an excellent job. We loved the show very much.
Riverdance is a forever memory. The energy was electric in the whole theater. I couldn't stop moving to the music!
