QUEENSRYCHE IN CONCERT:

For more than three decades, progressive metal veterans Queensryche have been pushing the genre’s boundaries with their ambitious sound and electrifying performances on tour. At their staggering live shows the band takes the stage in all black, delivering powerful rock anthems like “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman” beneath a giant banner bearing their signature peregrine falcon-likeTri-Ryche logo. Former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche in 2012 and the band hasn’t missed a beat since, thrilling fans with extensive touring tirelessly and a return to the studio in 2015. Whether they’re rocking out to early favorites or playing cuts from their self-titled 2013 album, Queensryche always treats ticket buyers to an unforgettable concert experience full of potent tunes, virtuosic musicianship, and classic metal showmanship.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Queensryche formed in Bellevue, WA in 1982 from the ashes of local band The Mob. They received an early break when UK rock mag Kerrang! got wind of their demos and wrote a glowing review. The growing buzz in both the UK and the US led to impressive sales for their 1983 debut EP, and the following year the band released their debut album The Warning to a spot on the Billboard 200. Following a tour with Kiss the band released their 1986 sophomore album Rage for Order, a gold-certified outing that showcased a more polished rock sound. The band reached the pinnacle of their success in 1990 with the album Empire, which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the Top 10 rock hits “Silent Lucidity” and “Jet City Woman”. Since then Queensryche has weathered numerous lineup changes while continuing to release records and tour with metal mainstays like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. In 2012 former Crimson Glory singer Todd La Torre joined Queensryche, and he continues to helm the band as they bring their distinctive brand of metal-infused power balladry to fans around the world on tour.

    Came with an open mind

by Pastor Dad on 5/10/24The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

I have loved Queensryche since their EP of the early 80s and have worn out both cassette and CD copies of their albums. Geoff Tate, as well as other founding members, forged the sound that we have all loved big shoes to be filled. Queensryche 2024 didn't disappoint. They still sound like Queensryche. Lots of songs from their newer albums. A great show! "The Lady Wore Black"was a total trip down memory lane. Thanks, guys!!

    Back 2the Beginning...

by da Craviotto Kid on 5/10/24The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

It was an Outstanding performance by Queensrÿche! They're know as a musician's band and they didn't disappoint. Blasting thru their ep & first album releases in chronological order. Despite it being near the end of the tour the guys gave 100% and it showed as the crowd was interactive with the band. I met new fans as well as the oldskool ones (like me!). I strongly recommend seeing them perform, especially on this Historic tour! "RYCHE ON! "

JUST OK WITHOUT THE ORIGINAL SINGERS

by El Jefe on 5/10/24The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

Watching them setup the teleprompter before Armored Saint took the stage made me think John Bush may be using the singer's crutch or trying new/old material, but as it turned out the understudy got the call. I was very disappointed John wouldn't be singing. Hope he gets better. The Dangerous Toys singer did ok. The missed words and missed notes weren't too noticeable. The band is and always will be super tight. The venue had great sound. It really picks up the details within guitar solos and singing nuances. Those nuances were quite evident with Queensryche. They cranked up the sound noticeably and I lasted only a few songs. Nevertheless it was an entertaining show on both counts. Great venue to see a show.

    Great Show

    by ericch2os on 5/10/24The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

So it was a great show minus the fact that John Bush didn't perform with Armored Saint. I've seen Queensryche several times, but had been waiting to see Armored Saint since 1985, so I was VERY disappointed to see Jason McMaster doing vocals. I don't really enjoy Dangerous Toys and I'm not a big fan of his Henrik Ostergaard fill in for Dirty Looks (even though I am happy to see them doing something. The music is too good to die with Henrik). That said, he did a really good job. I got goosebumps (doesn't usually happen to me at metal/rock show) when they played March of the Saint and Can You Deliver. Queensryche..........I saw them with Todd La Torre live for the first time last year opening for Judas Priest and was really impressed. This show was even better. He was really on. To hear the EP and The Warning in their entirety was a dream come true for a Queensryche fan from 1985. Now..........this isn't a dig on La Torre........but to hear him sing those songs quite well but still see some moments where his voice probably needed a break is a testament to how legendary Geoff Tate was in his prime. Of course, I didn't see Queensryche with Geoff Tate until the Empire Tour and then I saw them again when they toured with Fates Warning and Dream Theater but not in 85, 86, 87, etc. etc. when they were cooking with Rage and Mindcrime. Overall......great show. Go see them if you can.

    No top 5 hits.

by Chuck on 5/10/24The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

Dissapointing that the band didn't play any of their top 5 hits that fans were hoping to hear.

    Rocking the house

by Dirty Dave on 5/7/24The Paramount - Huntington

Paramout venue was awesome. Not a bad spot anywhere. Band was on point and sounded terrific. Vocals were great even though he struggled through 2 or 3 songs but rebounded with authority. Totally awesome!!

    Outstanding!

by Vinny B on 5/7/24The Paramount - Huntington

Band was tight, when I closed my eyes you would think Geoff Tate was on that stage singing! Great to hear the Lp in its entirety!
