First off, I want to say that while I almost always enjoy theater and some dancing, I have never really been into..."artistic expression." By that I mean things that seemingly make no sense to anyone but the artist and people who think they know what the artist was trying to express through his/her work. Botanica was nothing short of interesting. Parts of it were mesmerizing, but most of it was weird and didn't make sense (lady riding triceratops skeleton which then attacked her while semi-naked man was lying on ground leaning against rock for no apparent reason). Now I can most definitely respect the work that the dancers put into the performance, as there were only 10 (I believe) dancers performing the entire time, and a lot of what they did required a lot of effort, but I wasn't very impressed with the choreography. My wife and I both felt like every scene was a big build up to something that never happened, and then the scene would switch.
Overall, unless you're pretty artistic, at least look up some videos of this first or something to see if it's you're thing.
