Truly Unforgettable! Went with a friend. Got a little weird. He cried a lot.
I never thought I could be swept away by such lovely music. I was in tears most of the night. Two amazing acts one amazing night. I felt tingly all over. I couldn't help myself, I ran out and bought their CDs.
Kenny G is one of the most gracious performers I have seen in a long time. He was at a tent greeting concert goers as we entered Wente. He was personally autographing his CD's for purchase. Chatting with everyone, very comfortable being with the public. He began his segment of the concert in the audience playing his first song. He continued to stroll amoungst the audience while he played. You felt like you were in a small jazz club, it was very intimate. He also raffled off one of his own saxaphone's and played a song to the person on stage with the winning sax. Truly a class act. It took 30 minutes however for Michael Bolton to begin his performance after Kenny G finished. They did some stage changing but not enough to warrant a 30 minute wait for the audience. By the time Michael Bolton came on, it was getting late, after 10:00 pm. Michael's voice is still amazing and he performed many of his wonderful classics. My only pet peeve during the Michael Bolton concert was that he kept leaving the stage. He took far too many breaks and we were left listening to his other band members perform. They were all very accomplished muscians in their own right, but let's face it, we paid to watch Michael Bolton and he was MIA many times through out his 1 hour performance. All and all it was a lovely warm night at Wente and the hosts were wonderful as was the music. I would recommend seeing both of these talented men in the future and I'm glad I went.
Michael Bolton singing was just as hot as ever and Kenny G was also great, the sound system at Wente was not good and the bass bounced off my chest and I could feel it all the way to my bones. We had to move from our seats to prevent ear damage. I wanted to hear more clearly, but even after we moved, I had to wear ear buds and even still my ears are still ringing. Wente needs to do something about their speakers. I gave the entertainers a great rating but not Wente's sound system.
It was amazing event...Kenny G and Michael Bolton was unforgettable night for two big stars.
Kenny G was both 5 stars as an entertainer and musician. Michael was 3 stars and 4 stars respectively. I think the latter was influenced by not getting on stage until 10pm and 15-20% of the crowd exiting around 11pm...he had to see this. I would start the concert earlier, so Michael can get on stage by 930.
Michael Bolton and Kenny G were great; they still got it. The only two negatives are the acoustic wasn't that great, and the event was kind of long for a Tuesday night.
Absolutely worth the money! Great event at Wente Vineyards. It got cold once the sun went down. Luckily I had a blanket & jacket in the car which they allowed me to bring into event. Highly recommend this show.
Went to the Michael Bolton/Kenny G concert pretty excited to see Michael Bolton. Turns out Kenny G was very entertaining - I like him much more than I had expected to. However, not sure what was up with Michael B! Sang 3-4 songs, left the stage and let the band and percussion play a long song. Came back, sang a couple more songs, left again and let the pianist play. Came back and pretty much did his encore. Such a short and disappointing performance by Michael B.
I give 5 stars for Kenny G alone, but having the combination of the 2 performers was like having two great concerts in one. Michael Boulton was also great. It was totally worth our price paid.
