Across their career Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to headline arenas. The New Wave of American Heavy Metal architects earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.
"For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world," Guitar World observed. Timeless songs like "Laid to Rest," "Redneck," "Walk with Me in Hell," and "Now You've Got Something to Die For" became anthems in the heavy metal songbook, with gargantuan vocals born from both righteous anger and devotion, and unrivaled riffs for the ages.
Now, the Grammy-nominated goliath follows 2020's self-titled slab with a vicious new testament. Riding high on an insatiable drive, a focused collective camaraderie, and a creative renaissance saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NME, Lamb Of God returned to longtime producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold) and carved the gloriously unhinged Omens into sonic stone.
Even as D. Randall Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (lead guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Art Cruz (drums) enjoy one another's company and chemistry like never before, Omens is possibly the angriest Lamb Of God album yet. Densely muscular, soaked in unnerving spite, with a pessimistic eye toward inner struggles and global affairs alike, Omens is a furious entry in the catalog.
Most of the album was recorded live in the studio, including Blythe's vibrantly unhinged vocal attack. Morton and Adler's riffs threaten, challenge, and devastate. Cruz and Campbell's unstoppable rhythms lurch and beckon. Having shined on 2020's Lamb Of God, Cruz injects even more nuance and personality into his playing across Omens' songs.
It's a potent, palpable energy Lamb Of God first tapped when they shoved heavy metal into the new millennium with New American Gospel (2000). As the Palaces Burn (2003) joined Rolling Stone's Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first Lamb Of Gold album certified gold by the RIAA, a feat once all but impossible for a contemporary extreme metal band.
Sacrament (2006), Revolver's Album of the Year, went gold as well. The raw and organic malice of Wrath (2009) began the band's enduring relationship with Wilbur. Both the diverse Resolution (2012) and the explosive VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
The 2020 self-titled set, their first new material in five years, added instant classics "Memento Mori" and "Resurrection Man" to the repertoire, alongside eight more monster tracks. Revolver, Metal Hammer, Loudwire, and Consequence included Lamb Of God on their year-end Best Albums lists. The momentum continues with Omens, arguably the band's most aggressive and ambitious yet.
The hardcore fire at the heart of Lamb Of God still burns as hot as the 12-foot flames blazing the stages on their co-headlining trek with Megadeth, appropriately called "The Metal Tour of the Year." Even as the state of the world descends, the state of the union for Lamb Of God remains strong.
Over the course of their career, Lamb of God have played at famed venues like the Arizona Federal Theatre and the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
for being a headlining show, I wish it could have been a bit longer
I’ve seen lamb of god a few times now and this has got to be the best experience I’ve had with them! The venue was beautiful to say the least. The architecture and space was superb. All the people at the show were great and as always lamb of god put on a spectacular show.
It was a very good show, good bands, they sounded very good. checkout was quick, beer prices were good. overall a very good show
Overall it was an amazing experience for both me and my friend I brought along. Hell of a first concert for him. The acoustics were great, sound was amazing. The energy from both the artists and the crowd were extraordinary as well. It was both me and my friends first time in the pit/mosh area and everyone was supportive and looking out for each other. Great bands to listen to, even better to see live; would highly recommend any fans hesitant on going to their concerts to go and see them.
Per usual LOG brought the Thunder and the metal. Great show, tons of energy, great venue and seats, kill line up with Suicide Silence and Acacia Strain. Great show, love this band
Very intense and energetic atmosphere. Coming in from out of town to see LambofGod and Suicide Silence at Palm's Casino Resort.
This was an excellent concert. The venue was perfect for this type of concert. However, I do not like that standing is encouraged. I pay for a place to sit because I'm unable to stand for long periods. The people standing in front of me makes the concert less enjoyable. Flat Black was good. Their performance was top notch. Mix Master Mike gave an excellent performance. Staind had a good performance. The sound was perfect. Godsmack was fantastic as usual. They know how to entertain the crowd.
This was my first metal concert and I’m ready for another. Lamb of God does amazing shows.
Acoustics were poor. The floor in GA was extremely slippery. Bands performed incredibly.
Great show! I got my face melted off! Now I’m just a man with a skull head
They were amazing, I haven’t seen them since 2012 & they kicked ass
I would definitely check this venue out in Chesterfield and go see Lamb of God if you haven't already.
I am avid LOG fan and have been since 2002. I've seen them many times. The show at the Factory was great, however, the sound did lack. I couldn't hear vocals well at all. On a scale of 1-10 on all parts: Drums - 10 Guitar - 7 Bass - 5 Vox - 2
Lamb of God is a band that everyone (that enjoys a music show) should see. Loud, crisp music and great lights, etc… The venue was perfect for this band!
A awesome shoe Acacia strain was good as well.Lamb of God was awesome!!
The greatest show ever especially being @ The welmont theater in New Jersey
drove 6 hours just to see them headline, still amazing and still the best band live ! this was my 8th time seeing them, and my first time in wellmont theather. the venue is nice. seeing them again 2x nexth month.
It was a great show! We were close to the stage. Lamb of God killed it! and the security was very good. Felt safe during the show woth crowd surfing and pits.
Yet another exquisite performance by one of the best bands in the history of metal. I thoroughly enjoyed their pure savagery and awesomeness.
Lamb of god had great energy, crowd had good energy, Wellmont theater is a great spot— but the audio tech was probably the worst I’ve ever heard. Could hardly hear which song they were playing until a minute in, at best. Yikes.
