Judas Priest on Tour

British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.

Judas Priest in Concert

The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.

    Excellent

by Patty on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

I got the ticket from my son as a birthday present. It was the best show ever. The other band (Sabaton) was great this was the first time ever heard of them. When Judas Priest came on they were kicking. Everyone was standing the whole time. Non stop rocking! I had a blast.

The band is aging and it shows but they still bring the loud to the equation and they rocked.

    Still Rockin

by JC on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

I saw Judas Priest back in the 80s and they were great. Rob Halford‘s voice stands the test of time he still rocks with that great high-pitched metal voice The band still has what it takes to compete in today’s rock world Judas Priest delivers If you haven’t seen them lately, get tickets as soon as you can you won’t be disappointed. This was the first time I had seen the opening act Sabotan and they are a great opening act and I am now a fan.

Still Going Strong - Better Than Ever

    by Simon252 on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Just saw Priest for the twelve time. First saw them on the 1990 Painkiller Tour. Now, 34 years later they are as good as ever. Richie Faulkner and Andy Sneap handle the dual guitars with precision and vigor while Scott Travis remains one of masters of drums and Ian Hill holds a solid Bass. The Metal God himself, Rob Halford still has the greatest singing voice in Heavy Metal. Great sound, Great stage presence. One of the big 80's bands who are still as good today as they ever were.

Great stage show but the sound was off for Judas Priest. Tough to hear Rob during some of the songs.

    The priest is back!

    by Metalman1000 on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Judas Priest are at the top of the metal world right now, After 5 decades of metallic rage. A smoking new album and a killer line up. The sold out crowd at Rosemont theater were ready to rock.Kudos to Ritchie Faulkner, A true metal god, ripping solo after solo all night. Andy Sneap on second guitar is a good fit for the band too. Scott on the drums amazing as always. Ian Hill laying down his awesome bass groove. But of course, Rob Hanford was in fine form, ear splitting screams of metal mayhem all night long. Fan favorite Sabaton opened the show doing a great job too. The crowd loving every minute of their military history anthems. Go see this tour, NOW!

    Rosemont Experience

by Red Sabaton Fan on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Was glad I got the tickets back in February. Mainly came for Sabaton, but also had a mother who was an old school Judist Priest fan. Definitely give the overall experience a 4 or higher. Got there early and got great parking next to the theater. Concessions a little pricey, but then again movie popcorn or drinks anywhere are although my mother loved the giant novelty tequila slushy. Sabaton was over-the-top for performances IMO. Judist Priest sang alot of songs although seemed stiffer and less entertaining in comparison, yet still impressed the fans. The sound system seemed set for nails-on-chalkboard screeching; I was able to make out Sabaton alright but 90% of Judist Priest's notes came out ear-bleeding and took a day-and-a-half for my ears (it gives me a reminder to get ear protection next time) to recover. It was good that the theater had accommodations for the disabled, as both my mother and a friend had mobility issues that parking and seating eased. A memorable experience thanks to Ticketmaster!

    The Metal Gods

by DKB on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

After 50 years, Judas Priest never disappoints. Good set list although no real risks or deep cuts. Richie and Andy are fierce on dual guitars. Don’t call this a cover band. Don’t!

    Priest

by Metalhead on 5/4/24Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Awesome as always. But Richie’s guitar kept cutting in and out. Bad at the end. But still a great show. Ian Hill was steady and pure. Rob at the top of his game. Love me a little Priest on a Wednesday night!

    Judas Priest/Sabaton

by Skull Duggery on 5/2/24Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park - Indianapolis

I have seen Judas Priest in excess of ten times and Sabaton for the third time now. This was a fantastic concert in an enjoyable amphitheater setting. Sabaton immediately captivated the audience with their World War II-inspired metal marches. The sound system for the band was very clear and incredibly clean. I could easily hear the words of the songs and the banter between the band and the audience. As far as clarity goes, the sound was better for Sabaton than for Judas Priest. However, the mighty Priest were still very much in top form and Rob Halford in powerful voice. By far the best they’ve looked and sounded since the glory days of the 70s-80s. The stage presentation was really inviting and added quite a bit to the overall experience. Priest played five songs off of the new album Invincible Shield. That can be good or bad depending on your perspective. For someone who has heard all of the classics and hits, this was very much welcomed as the songs off this album are quite strong. I enjoyed them as they translated very well in a live setting. The band looked energized playing the new material. Very well done. I rate this show very highly and felt that it was definitely money well spent. Long live Judas Priest and Sabaton!

by Joe on 5/2/24Covelli Centre - Youngstown

Great set list, played at least one song from most of there albums. Rob's voice is still sharp in his normal high range. Band was tight and active. Sabaton was again a great opener. Polished performance that got the audiences moving.

    Expected

by ED on 5/1/24Cross Insurance Center - Bangor

Playing a (few) of their new CD songs, which I and a lot of others new little about and had nothing to hang with, they should have filled their short time in Bangor with the songs that made them famous and loved. Where was "Bloodstone", "Metal Gods", "Breaking the Law", "No Surrender", "Never the Heroes", and/or "You've Got Another Thing Coming". All in all I would still give their performance a 9. From a fan since 1974. Love you guys. ED
