Judas Priest on Tour
British heavy metal powerhouse Judas Priest has released 22 albums over four decades. They laid much of the groundwork for the heavy music of the 80s with their two guitar attack of revved up blues-based riffs They continue to tour, treating metal fans to extravagant live shows and spirited renditions of their unmistakable anthems. Ticket holders are sure to get to a concert early because they don't want to miss Singer Rob Halford's stage entrance. He emerges from a cloud of fog riding on a Harley Davidson, clad head to toe in leather-studded S&M gear. The band released a live DVD of their Epitaph World Tour in May 2013, which well received and features 23 tracks covering most eras of the bands storied career.
Judas Priest in Concert
The group formed in 1969 in Birmingham, England and released their first album in 1974 entitled Rocka Rolla. This was soon to be followed by Sad Wings of Destiny in 1976, which gained the group a wider audience in the UK. The group's next three albums: Sin After Sin, Stained Class and Hell Bent for Leather were released in 1977, 1978 and 1979 respectively, and showed a band evolving its sound into shorter songs that still retained a heavy metal punch. Next came the album British Steel in 1980, which featured "Living After Midnight", "Breaking the Law" and "United" — all earning regular radio play. Point of Entry was released in 1981, followed by Screaming For Vengeance in 1984, which went double platinum. The 2008 concept album Nostradamus found them pushing boundaries by challenging their listeners to consider how "metal" the man of prophetic talents actually was. Over the next four years the band toured relentlessly and they show no signs of letting up, with an impressive schedule of tour dates on the books for 2014.
Great venue, great seats, great show……Rob Halford can still belt it out!,,,,,,
Great set list, played at least one song from most of there albums. Rob's voice is still sharp in his normal high range. Band was tight and active. Sabaton was again a great opener. Polished performance that got the audiences moving.
Just seen priest and sabaton at the Rosemont theater, venue was kinda small but the atmosphere was electric
Playing a (few) of their new CD songs, which I and a lot of others new little about and had nothing to hang with, they should have filled their short time in Bangor with the songs that made them famous and loved. Where was "Bloodstone", "Metal Gods", "Breaking the Law", "No Surrender", "Never the Heroes", and/or "You've Got Another Thing Coming". All in all I would still give their performance a 9. From a fan since 1974. Love you guys. ED
Sabaton and Judas Priest were so good I’m going again soon.
Trembling and gnashing of teeth!!! These guys cannot fail to satisfy!!!
First time I saw Judas Priest was back in the EARLY eighties and started a 40 year affair with the Priest. Third time I saw them and the Metal Gods did not disappoint. Great music, great crowd and great staff. Couldn't have had a better time.
Seeing Rob scream-sing Painkiller live is quite an experience. Victim of Changes was awesome too. Great guitar work. Bass player and drummer dead on. Crowd loved it. Good job, JP! Worth going to see.
It was my first time seeing Sabaton and Judas Priest, Amazing performances and an awesome night!
Venue great. Sound perfect. Would definitely return to see another show
It was my first time to see Judas Priest.......glad I went, Great Show
One of my favorite bands growing up. Haven’t seen them in 40 years. They did not disappoint. And Everwise Amphitheatre is an awesome place for concerts.
Sabaton just became one of my favorite bands after that show. I owe my 13 yr old a huge thank you for introducing me to this band! Gave 4 stars only because we didn't stick around for Judas Priest.
The opening act for Judas Priest was Sabaton from Sweden but I had never heard of. They put on a great show to kick the night off. They had a great sound and very heavy. Enjoyed they greatly. Judas Priest then hit the stage and Rob and the rest of the boys put on one hell of a show. For being in his early 70's Rob sure knows how to rock out!!! Had a great time.
I was Indy to visit a friend and took some time to see PRIEST again. Fantastic show.. The venue was amazing and the staff was very friendly and great at their jobs
I wasn't familiar with Sabaton prior to the concert. Thier style of music isn't for me but they did put on an entertaining show and performed well. Judas Priest was impressive. I have seen them multiple times throughout the years, starting on the Turbo tour and the last show I saw prior to this one was on the Firepower tour and several times in between those tours. This was my favorite performance of theirs, even though I did miss seeing K.K. and Glenn on stage. Rob can still hit the notes. He can even still hold them, even though he did have a little help from digital delay. It was still my favorite performance from them. It is definitely a show worth seeing. On a side note, this was the loudest concert I have seen in several years, and I go to between 10-20 concerts a year. To give you an idea how loud it was, the last concert I saw that was close to this loud was Slayer at an indoor 2,00 seat venue years ago. It was loud but the sound was very clean. It wasn't loud in a bad way. It was outdoors, loud, and sounded great. It was impressive. If you have hearing sensitivities, bring ear plugs. You'll need them. For the rest of you, buy your ticket, go to the show, and enjoy being completely immersed into the music.
Amazing performances from both Sabaton AND The Almighty Judas Priest‼️‼️‼️ Loved the lights and backdrops, too!! Plenty of great songs in the setlist to keep me on my feet all night long‼️💯🤘🏼🤘🏼
Excellent concert. Superb venue. Rob Halford's voice still wails. The entire band was on-point. Sabaton impressed me- I wasn't a fan at first, but I must say their live show changed my mind! They are way better live! These bands did not disappoint!
It was an awesome bill. Both bands were great! I was on pit and it was great because it wasn’t overcrowded
Excellent show! Judas Priest delivered and it was 100% Awesome!
