Golden State Warriors History

Founded in 1946, the Warriors called the city of Philadelphia home for 16 memorable years before moving to the West Coast in 1962 to become the San Francisco Warriors. In 1971, the Golden State Warriors were born when the team moved across the Bay to Oakland.

The team's storied history includes seven NBA Championships, an NBA-record 73 wins during the 2015–16 season, eight players named to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team and 31 members inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The Golden State Warriors also have the distinction of having the third most NBA Championships to their name (seven), and the third-most appearances in the NBA Finals (11). The only teams that have more are the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The current team is led by two-time league MVP Stephen Curry, who won the Clutch Player of the Year Award in 2024, and eight-time All-NBA Defensive selection Draymond Green. The Golden State Warriors’ most recent NBA Championship came in 2022.

  • Okay Experience

by Nisa on 10/14/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

This was my first time at Chase for the Warriors! In the past I’ve come for concerts. I didn’t realize how hard it is to get to and from Oracle Arena by public transit coming from East Bay. I thought it’d be easy like Oracle Park. It also would have been great if there was a disclaimer about not talking loudly the whole game, these guys behind me did exactly that. Excited for the WNBA team. WNBA games are so fun! Overall for the price I paid I would absolutely go again. Not an experience worth over $150 though.

  • It was awesome!

by Gennie on 7/15/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Very nice seats and affordable . Quite an experience to see the players do their thing on the court.

  • First time at chase center

by Imene on 7/15/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Very nice experience! It was my first time in US and in a basketball show, I’m really impressed. The only negative thing is that I couldn’t take tickets before my trip to US, seems like it is denied when you’re out of US

  • Affordable price for good seats!

by Anahi on 7/14/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

It was really cool to experience a good game. The seats were phenomenal, especially at an affordable price. The ushers were really nice and helped us find what we needed.

  • Amazing experience into USA sport

    by Lightning7 on 7/13/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

As a tourist coming over from England this was an incredible insight to American sport. I’m not an out and out basketball fan but the atmosphere was class. Staff and supporters were so welcoming and I’m so glad I did it.

  • Fun experience and worth every penny

  • Awful .....

by Greg on 7/10/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 1 out of 5

What a terrible experience going to this event concessions fiasco was absurd at 1 point I counted 66 people in line waiting for food will never go again.

  • Great venue, just be prepared to sell a kidney to afford it

by Rose on 4/17/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

Chase center is a great venue, at least the lower seats. The upper ones are SO STEEP, it feels like you could very easily topple over and fall down a bunch of rows. It's seriously cramped and scary. The lower levels are great! We sat in section 110, row 22 for a Warriors game. The seats are comfortable, view is decent (except for a slight blind spot from the backboard). Food options are plentiful and on par price-wise with other entertainment venues ($22 for pulled pork nachos, $14 for a hot link). Good variety of beers, which will set you back $20 for a tallboy. Bathrooms are plentiful and clean (they have an attendant in each one who keeps things very clean and tidy - it's great). Ticket prices are insane. It was over $1000 for 4 of us to attend a Warriors game.

  • GSW trip

    by Clay50sub4 on 3/12/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

I grew up in SF, but haven't seen a game in the Chase Center. So we made the trip from PA to see the Warriors vs Chicago, and San Antonio. It was an easy walk from our hotel (near Oracle Park). Loved the new arena, everything about it. Our arenas in Philly and DC are about 30 years old now, much better than what they used to have, but both teams looking to upgrade soon. We sat in the 200 for the first game, a bit farther up than I'd like. Sat in the 100 level for Spurs game (no Wemby) which was a much better seat and view. 107 even won the Filipino Heritage Night shirts. Too bad the good guys lost both games, but wanted to see the Curry, Thompson, Green, Kerr group without putting it off any longer. It was a great experience, that we hope to repeat again soon.

  • Not the best food

by Ser on 3/11/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

Two friends bought popcorn, over $15 each, and they tasted like they were leftover from the last game. Super salty and stale. Two different friends bought nachos, the chips were stale and bland. My $18 (!) margarita was a strong flavor or marg mix. It was a disappointing spend on food!

  • What a time!!

by Ash on 3/2/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

I love that the do events for each culture but I'm sadden and slightly upset that when I purchased the tickets it stated that a shirt will be given instead it was a yearbook. That's false advertisement. I'm still going to support my team but please make sure that things are stated correctly. I believe plenty of patrons thought we were getting shirts. The experience within itself is always FUN! The atmosphere and vibe is always good. The food is on point. Some staff, not all, have the best energy. The warriors experience is always the best for me.

  • AN EXPERIENCE

    by P/D on 3/1/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

We visited San Francisco City from Puerto Rico, and the Christmas present for my husband was to visit his first NBA game. The Chase Center, the organization, the staff and most of all being able to see the players live was impressive. Quite an experience that we will undoubtedly repeat.

  • First Time at Chase Center

by Kim WC on 2/28/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

We had a wonderful time at our first Warriors game at Chase Center. We live far away from California; therefore, we have only attended games closer to our home state. It was my goal to attend a home game this year and was glad that happened. The game was fun, but would've been better if they actually won the game.

  • Great Game

by Lady Spark on 2/26/24Rating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed my 1st game at the Chase Center. The experience was entertaining. Let’s go Warriors!!

  • Warrios VS Lakers experience on February 22nd, 2024

by Cathy Yang on 2/25/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

The experience of watching the NBA live for the first time with my dad was great. The atmosphere was amazing and surprisingly wonderful. However, my dad was a little concerned about the food options. He noticed that most of the food was frozen and just heated up, so it lacked flavor. Additionally, there weren't many Asian food options available. It would be nice if they could provide a greater variety of food, especially considering the diverse tastes in the Bay Area.

  • Awesome

by Meika on 2/25/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 3 out of 5

The game was awesome, I believe everyone should get a chance to experience it. The price for the tickets was extremely high. I don’t think the price was worth the seating selected. I don’t think it’s far for people to buy them out then sell them at a higher price. Other than that the game was nice for my sons to experience.

  • Best team in NBA

by Lukami on 2/24/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

Best team in NBA. Stephen Curry is the best player in the NBA history.

  • Awesome Experience

by Reggie on 2/21/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 5 out of 5

What a great evening! It was great watching the Warriors warm up and to be so engaging with the fans! The kids were so excited and it was a memorable experience!

  • Overall experience is great!

by Ivan from Macau on 2/18/24Chase Center - San FranciscoRating: 4 out of 5

Both my kids and I had a great night, we took a lot of photos and videos during warm up time, it would be perfect if you can arrange more player interaction time, like autograph time with fans, the kids love that so much. Let's go Warriors!
