    Great Show

    by RothFan on 2/11/20

Don't read the reviews, come for yourself. My only complaint is that you can't see the keyboardist. Set was great, band killed it, and Dave does Dave! Entertains and sings the hits. Worth ever dollar!

Diamond Dave fans-Just on principle, seize the opportunity!

    by RandyTheTaper on 2/2/20

Manchester NH, Roth’s debut opening for KISS on the seemingly never ending End Of The Road tour. A quick preface: I caught the Syracuse show in 2019, where KISS management opted to abandon brand recognition for the bill, and awarded a friggin’ flamboyant canvas painting artist nobody has ever heard of, the opening act slot. Dude (on a heavily tarped stage) created wildly rock icon portraits with spasmodic gyrations and wild slapping methods reminiscent of a prominent Big Lebowski scene, this whilst stale classic Petty and Hendrix tunes blasted over the venue P.A. Art guy closed out his 40 minute slot by providing links to still confused KISS fans as to how to purchase the final works. Just weird, but I digress. Tonight (Feb 1st 2020). We arrive early to our choice floor seat, 10 rows back and center. This is optimum for KISS, as too close and you may miss key elements. Not knowing what to expect but still VERY open minded even though recent reviews of DLR’s recent Vegas residency were often..unforgiving. Dave reportedly was meticulous this past year in assembling this obviously young nameless band. An ensemble of nameless yet effective musicians, whose critical harmonies were SO tight and on key, that the discerning ear may convince the brain that preproduction backtrack enhancements may be at play. Should this be just a conspiracy theory, then these 5 guys in back of Dave...are the show. Roth’s stage presence was less ego dominated than it was clear appreciation for being in front of people, bringing to us his best effort possible. There were several expected pitch issues and missed lyrics, but so what? The man did not mail it in. Humility and swagger make for a genuine rock and roll marriage when an iconic front man is attempting to bring a respectable performance from a catalog dating back 40 years, to the faithful listeners. The set was relatively brief (YRGM,Unchained,Paradise,DTNA,Jamie’sCryin’,ATBL,Panama,Jump) and without theatrics aside from the signature high swivel kicks that are still at top form evidently. As the set concluded, the now full SNHU arena was receptive and eager to show the deserved respect that Dave’s first show with KISS had just commanded. We we’re smiling, as was Diamond Dave, as he waved with obvious appreciation from the many thousands thunderously cheering. It was a perfect choice from KISS, to ask Dave on the tour. He did the experience respectable justice.

    Iconic vocals

by SB on 1/17/20House of Blues Las Vegas presented by Cricket Wireless - Las Vegas

The venue in the Mandalay Bay hotel is a great space - we sat in the balcony right in the curve and could see everything except the keyboard player. We came in the last day of the January residency and comments for earlier performances stated Roth shared personal stories but that wasn't the case for our show. He started off in glittery glory, weilding the mic stand and dancing around. He seemed unhappy with the way his speaking voice sounded in the room but it was perfect. Jacket changes, accessory changes, and showmanship made for a great concert. I would have enjoyed more of the personal touch by sharing a bit more life stories or song background details but it was a good show. I believe if I were to go to the next residency in March, it would be different enough to justify but coming from Tennessee, that's a bit too long a trip. I'd recognize his voice anywhere and it still rocks.

Fantastic Show and Value for the Price

by Stevie on 1/16/20House of Blues Las Vegas presented by Cricket Wireless - Las Vegas

The package I purchased was great. Included dinner and drinks before the show and 2 drinks per person inside. Had our own table with another couple. The audio, visual and entire show was fantastic. Glad he took out all the talking bits that I'd read about during the first show.

Great show. DLR still has tons of energy and a solid voice. Wish the show was longer.

Have to say that until we watched it in person, was so pleasantly surprised on what a great performance he put on. Super enjoyable, audience got into all the songs and everyone was "Dancing the Night Away"!! Would see him again and it was worth the money!

Ringmaster of the Van Halen party!

by Soothsayer on 1/14/20House of Blues Las Vegas presented by Cricket Wireless - Las Vegas

Don't judge this show based on youtube clips from opening night - DLR found his groove on Saturday night at the House of Blues. His band is a monster and the ultimate front-man delivers a wild and fun ride. If you are hoping for a perfect voice, he never had one. Look elsewhere. But if you're hoping to hear songs you love in a fun party setting, DLR delivers.
