Connecticut Sun History

The Connecticut Sun are an American professional basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Launched as the Orlando Miracle in 1999, the franchise was purchased in 2003 by the Mohegan Tribe, who became the first Native American tribe to own a professional sports team, and moved to their current home in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Sun have advanced to four WNBA Finals, in 2004, 2005, 2019 and 2022, and topped the Eastern Conference five times. Sun players have earned five All–WNBA First Team selections and two MVP awards, for Tina Charles in 2012 and Jonquel Jones in 2021. Since joining the Sun as a rookie in 2014, five-time All-Star Alyssa Thomas led the WNBA in steals in 2020 and continues to hold the league record for career triple-doubles. In 2023, the Connecticut Sun advanced to the postseason semifinals behind Thomas’ rebounding Peak Performer-winning play in the regular season.

    Great Experience

by Lou on 5/17/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Went to see Caitlin Clark's 1st WNBA regular season game at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville CT. Her team lost, but it was a thrill to see her in person for the first time. Great seats in section 106. Acquiring tickets through Ticketmaster was a breeze. Great time!

Decent Venue, But Needs New Jumbotron

by Rj on 5/17/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

The venue is a good size and you have the great view of the game even if you're in the upper level. I thought the selection for the halftime show was totally off the mark with two rappers (given the number of families with young children) and the music was played way too loud. The Jumbotron absolutely needs to be replaced. The quality looks like a projection screen from the 80s.

    Music

by Jazz Master on 5/17/24Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

The music was loud and Horrible! Not everybody should be subject to that kind of noise.

    Superb

by Clocklady50 on 10/2/23Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville

Couldn't have had the opportunity to see my team play in the semi-finals in a near perfect seat! My purchase was hassle free. Really appreciated the fans surrounding me during the game. The food venues were staffed to accommodate the crowds. Will definitely use Ticketmaster again to purchase seats for game and concert tickets!

Lots of fun. We had great seats even though we were rooting for the visiting team.
