About

BLUE MAN GROUP AT THE LUXOR

Before Blue Man Group was astounding audiences in Las Vegas and beyond, the founding members were entertaining crowds in Manhattan's Lower East Side. By 1991, Chris Wink, Matt Goldman, and Phil Stanton had a full show at Astor Place Theatre. Blue Man Group's big break arrived in 2000 with their addition to the Las Vegas line-up at The Luxor. Internationally, Blue Man Group has had show runs in cities from Sydney to Vienna. In 2017, Blue Man Group was purchased by the circus-like show Cirque du Soleil to be expanded. The genius of the Blue Man Group has been rewarded with the Obie Award, Off-Broadway Alliance Award, and Drum! Magazine Readers Choice Award. Currently in residency in The Luxor Las Vegas, Blue Man Group also has shows in Boston, New York, Orlando, and Chicago.

ABOUT THE SHOW

Formed in 1991, The Blue Man Group has made the transition from a performance group to an iconic Las Vegas experience. In fact, it's one of the longest-running shows in Sin City. The Blue Man Group live puts on a multi-sensory show integrating percussion and instrumental music, vibrant neon lights, and a variety of tricks using props and water. The actors faces are painted in a signature blue paint, and their signature all-black outfits add to the drama. Let yourself escape into a world of magic as the artists integrate live rock music with slight of hand and use of unexpected props. The group has made its mark on pop culture, with references to the production appearing in storylines on shows from Arrested Development to Scrubs. The groups recordings include "The Complex" album from 2002 which features Dave Matthews and Gavin Rossdale, and "THREE," an instrumental album released in 2016.

    AMAZING!

by gmaqueenie on 3/21/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

The show was funny, energetic and can only be appreciated in person! Great audience interaction. Make sure to get there about 20 minutes ahead to see the "parade" through the casino. It's free to everyone in Vegas, and very up close and personal!

This was my third time seeing BMG and I must say I was a little disappointed. However, this was my girlfriends first time seeing them and she loved it. There was a lot more audience interaction and technology used. My favorite part is the drumming with paint and sadly they did this at the very end for about 5 minutes. The paint drumming is what they're known for and there was not enough for me. Oh and if you don't like the slime/smell/taste/feel of bananas, don't sit in the poncho section!!

We took our grandchildren to the show, ages 4 and 9. They loved every minute. So did we! Lots of action. Intense music. Never a dull moment. Great finale.

Not as exciting as expected but still entertaining

by JHawk111 on 3/16/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

The Blue Man Group is quite famous and has a great reputation. I had high expectations for this performance which were not really met - but it was still enjoyable I did not walk away wowed as I have done for, say, Cirque du Soleil. However it was entertaining and provides a form of entertainment unlike other Vegas acts - part technology, part mime, part music. I actually liked the musical/drum sequences the best (and there were several of them). Some of the scenes seemed like a stretch - as if the writers were challenged to keep coming up with new material every year or two, and they were stretched.

    Somewhat updated

by profinkzoo on 3/16/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

I went to see Blue Man Group in Chicago about ten years ago and enjoyed it. Since it had been a while I thought I would see it in Las Vegas. I had been told that each location was a unique show, but I had been misinformed. Evidently they do the same show in all locations. Don't get me wrong, they put on a good show. And they have updated a couple things in the show from 10 years ago (commentary about electronic devices was especially good). But it is pretty much the same show. If you have not seen it, I would recommend it. It is definitely "off the wall" humor. Don't go expecting to see a traditional stage show or traditional comedy show. It is a bit edgy and politically incorrect, but funny. You will have a good time. And if you sit in the front few rows (like I did) you are given a plastic poncho to wear so you don't get spattered by some of the things on stage. Funny show, worth seeing.

From the time we sat down, to the time we left, spectacular light show, great music, very funny show. Blue Man Group @ Monte Carlo in Vegas is by far the best show I've seen.

Awesome show love the music. Wish they would play more music during the show. Thought they spent too much time walking around the audience.

The instrumentals were fantastic but the skits involving audiience members and marshmellows were too slow and boring.

The first 5 minutes were fun. After that the show was a bore and had no continuity. The skits made no sense and didn't flow together at all. We left the show thinking "Really? We spent $xxx for that?" I could have found a more interesting show on TV in my hotel room. The Blue Men themselves were fun, the writing of the show needs some work.

    Stale the second time around

by Marylander2014 on 3/3/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

It is a wonderfully weird show that requires some open-mindedness to accept. It was an innovative show that stretched boundaries. But only the first time. I saw this show six years ago and it felt fresh. Now I returned, hoping for something new, but I recognized at least half the material as recycled and some of the rest as variations on previous themes. I doubt I will attend a third time, especially at these prices. Perhaps Vegas shows should only be seen once...

    could've been better

The first and last quarter were good but the middle half was boring. Not worth the money. I would pay $40. That's it.

    Entertaining show...

by Wero667 on 2/25/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

This was our first time seeing Blue Man Group and the show was definitely entertaining. The show could have involved more magic or just surprise and awe. Overall not the best I've seen but still was worth it.

    Blue Man Group was amazing!

by EarlDarla on 2/24/14Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas

My boyfriend and I went for his birthday on 2/21/14. I don't want to spoil anything because I hate it when people do that, but you don't expect anything that they do, which is refreshing and their comedic style had us laughing in between anytime we were "oooing and awwwwing". My boyfriend and I are both born and raised Las Vegans who have never loved a show more. Keep it going Blue Man Group, we'll be back!
