Arizona Cardinals Team History

Founded in 1898 in Chicago as the Morgan Athletic Club, the Arizona Cardinals is the oldest professional football club in the NFL. The team joined the NFL as a charter team in 1920 and became the Chicago Cardinals in 1922. Some of the most iconic players in NFL history have worn the Cardinals uniform, including Pro Football Hall of Famers safety Larry Wilson, defensive back Dick "Night Train" Lane, cornerback Roger Wehrli, tackle Dan Dierdorf, cornerback Aeneas Williams, and quarterback Kurt Warner. State Farm Stadium has also given Arizona one of the NFL's most distinct home field advantages. Since beginning play at the venue in 2006, the Cardinals have earned three division titles, two NFC Championship Game appearances and their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.

In 2014, the Cardinals finished the season 11-5, marking the most regular-season wins for the franchise since 1975. The following year, they set another record for number of wins in a season since moving to Arizona, winning 13 games. That same year, the team clinched their first NFC West title since 2009.

    Very Fun

by SusanR on 8/11/19State Farm Stadium - Glendale

Good comfortable seats. Easy to navigate the stadium. Good drink choices. The indoor temp. was perfect. The Pizza was Meh. (same for the onion rings - meh) ... Good Security. Fairly Clean bathrooms, but I wish there would have been Anti-Bacterial Gel available throughout the Stadium. And, I didn't like that People from higher seats came down to the lower seats during the 2nd half (seat jumping/stealing) ...

Love my Cardinals but terrible game:(

by okrocksteady on 10/21/18State Farm Stadium - Glendale

Always love attending games at this venue but this particular game was rough! Our seats had a better view of the corner staircase everyone stopped on to locate their seats. I saw more people walking up and down than I did any football. Good venue just not the best section/seat location this time around.

    Great Game BUT...

by CANAZ on 10/4/18State Farm Stadium (formerly University of Phoenix Stadium) - Glendale

Our first game at State Farm Stadium, we paid $30 for reserved parking only to discover we were parked literally 2 km away from our seats. It would be helpful for the rookies among us to get a recommendation on the closest place to park based on where in the stadium we're seated. Not very happy with the stadium staff who directed us to the wrong seats (more than once), the women’s toilets not flushing (at halftime), the route blocked off at the end of the game to make our walk back to the car even longer and not enough parking control on the way out. Unless you are a die-hard fan and want to see your team with all the spectacle, stick to watching football on TV. Less stressful and WAY cheaper.

Cardinals worst team in the league

by bchrisrn on 9/26/18State Farm Stadium (formerly University of Phoenix Stadium) - Glendale

Sam Bradford probably the worst Quarterback in history of the Cardinals and we have had some bad ones. Team is lackluster. The coaches are not good, poor play calling. Game started off good with Bradford throwing two touchdowns but got back to form two interceptions and fumble lost in the third quarter. Bottom line unless drastic change no point in going to future Cardinals games.

it took a while to get to the stadium. my advice is to leave really early and enjoy the shopping and food venues in the area and then walk over to the stadium. as a first time visitor to the stadium I was IMPRESSED! it is very loud there (card fans) however I felt comfortable the food was good and beer oh yeah. I will return next year for sure:)

    First NFL game!

by makanasmommy on 12/13/17University of Phoenix Stadium - Glendale

I took my dad to our first NFL game for his 69th birthday. The seats were okay, the game was fun to watch. The only thing we didn’t enjoy was people standing on the stairs socializing w friends in other rows. Otherwise it was a good first experience.

    Great game! Great win!

by LVCheerDad on 12/13/17University of Phoenix Stadium - Glendale

We love this stadium! It was great that they were able to open the roof for this game. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We love watching our daughter and all of the other Cardinal Cheerleaders performing on the field, on the sidelines and especially on the giant screen. Good luck Cardinals! We hope you make the playoffs.

    Cards and Rams

by Flagstaffcouple on 12/6/17University of Phoenix Stadium - Glendale

Wonderful venue and not a bad seat in the house. My only concern was around what you could take in. We thought it was pretty std like baseball parks, but I had a great small purse confiscated that would have nice to know about in advance. There should be something that comes with the tickets for novices like us. Other than that, I wish the cardinals would have pulled out a win.
