A Perfect Circle Concert Schedule and Tour

Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel have been taking the alternative rock and metal worlds by storm as A Perfect Circle since 2000. The band has been active recently in South America and Australia on a string of festival concert dates in early 2013 after a massive US tour in the summer of 2011. The legendary live dynamics of Howerdel's precision playing and Keenan's world-class rock baritone has fans snapping up tickets rapidly. Concerts consist of simple sets along with an amalgam of music from all three of their albums. They also perform tasteful renditions of some surprising cover songs, as noted in their most recent greatest hits album, Three Sixty (2013).

Howerdel is a former guitar tech for rock-world heavyweights Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins and Fishbone. He and Keenan met in 1992 when Tool was opening for Fishbone. The union began as the brainchild of Howerdel, who had been working on the music for a number of years prior to playing some demos for Keenan. The singer suggested that he could hear himself performing the songs, and the circle was put into motion. Their debut album, Mer De Noms appeared at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The band later produced the 2003 album Thirteenth Step and 2004's eMOTIVe. Keenan and Howerdel share the lineup with top-notch rock royalty James Iha, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins, who holds down rhythm guitar, while bassist Matt McJunkins was picked up from Howeredel's side project, Ashes Divide. Meanwhile, renowned Vandals and one-time Guns 'N' Roses member Josh Freese is featured on drums. A Perfect Circle appeared suddenly, cranked out tons of music and sort of just disappeared, however, years later, the group is now back with another release in a pattern that seems, well, circular.

    Perfect Circle did not disappoint

    by Lucy0204 on 11/6/18Rupp Arena - Lexington

Fantastic concert! If I have one complaint - the constant reminder of no photos or videos got a bit old, we are adults we get it.

    Absolutely amazing

by Magzi on 11/5/18Bojangles' Coliseum - Charlotte

I've never been to a concert where the lead singer sounded just as well, if not better, than the albums. Maynard's voice is perfect. The band was perfect. I was moved almost to tears during one song, because Maynard's voice was as if he were singing it right into my ears. The clarity, the emotion, it was all there. The "remix" version of 3 Libras was the only sour part of the show, as that is my favorite song in the entire world, and I understand that he may never be able to perform that certain song again because of what it means to him. Other than that, an absolutely perfect show!!

    Perfect Circle is still good

by Jimmijoe on 11/5/18Bojangles' Coliseum - Charlotte

Only a couple of gripes about the show itself: Two opening acts was excessive. A Perfect Circle did these acts no favors - a progressive rock crowd getting warmed up by some Brittany Spears wannabe (Nightclub) and some rapper (Tricky) is either a woefully uninformed decision or evil genius...we were definitely ready to hear some GOOD music by the time APC finally got on stage. But these two sets before them left little time for the good stuff. And they spent too much time on their new material. I wanted to hear a little more off their first two albums...where was "Blue" and "The Outsider?" Not at my show. But Maynard did sound great - his pipes were dead on and it was terrific to finally hear him sing live again. He didn't even hate on his fans like he normally does - he actually appeared to (almost) enjoy himself. The stage show looked great and Howerdell's sound was good. The acoustics were decent in Bojangles auditorium, but for some reason it was really REALLY cold. Like we were seated on a hockey rink or something crazy like that. Shivering in the Arctic. I actually appreciated the "no cell phone" policy, but I was amused that a band that sings about "Freedom of Choice" was oppressing fans who wanted to take a simple photo of the show to commemorate the evening. They were even having security eject "cell phone offenders"! Not sure what to think of that.

    Headline let down

by Anonymous on 11/5/18The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

The main stage didnt impress me like it has in past year. All the good guys, except Chevelle, was on the side stage...and that is all good and amazing bc i dont mind being upfront to an amazing performance. I did not enjoy A Perfect Circle, they didnt use the screens, you couldn't see them from the lawn because their set was dark, and there was no crowd interactions. I kind of think it was prerecorded and the either mimed the show or had robots. I will never see A Perfect Circle again, but this has no effect on the CWMP itself. I love the venue always have and always will for years to come

Great show but the seating was very cramped. The seats are child-sized.

A Perfect Circle was an experience

    by kshel1002 on 11/4/18Bojangles' Coliseum - Charlotte

This was my first time seeing A Perfect Circle. It was an amazing show. It was also my first time at this venue. It is kind of small, but I believe it made for a more intimate experience. Maynard’s voice is something beyond this world. I have nothing but praise for the band. If you’ve never seen them, it is a must.

Band was great. Venue was good. It was freezing. Sound was great. I know it's a hockey arena with ice underneath. Great show.

You have got to see "A Perfect Circle" LIVE!!!

by ilvcotton on 11/4/18Bojangles' Coliseum - Charlotte

What a show! I especially appreciated the "NO VIDEO/PICTURES policy during the show. This made me feel like I was watching the show back in the 80's when you went to experience the band LIVE and lose yourself for two hours without interruption! I also appreciated the fact that at the very end Maynard told security to stand down and allowed folks to take their pictures during the last song. However, my wife and I left our cell phones in the car! LOL....but who cares! We enjoyed the show like we used to back in the 80's and let me tell you it was worth every dime! Congrats to "A Perfect Circle" for putting on one of the best shows ever! Tony Blatnik Charlotte, NC

    Best APC show ever!!!!

by aJcubed on 11/3/18CFE Arena - Orlando

CFE Arena was okay as a venue, not the best one I've been to, but also not the worst. The view from my seat was decent and I was happy with that but the seats themselves are absolutely the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in at a venue like this. Of course once APC came on I didn't really sit down again anyway. The show was INCREDIBLE! I had the pleasure of seeing Maynard dressed up as Beetlejuice which was a fun addition to the show. Of the four times I've seen APC, and eight times I've seen Maynard perform, there has only been one other show (a Tool show) that compares to how AMAZING he did. I could tell that he was really into it and giving it his all. Billy was also very pumped and energetic and this drummer, Jeff Freidl, is really great. Basically I can't even say enough positive things about the show. I will also attend more shows at CFE Arena in the future.

    APC a must see!

    by Shables72 on 11/2/18CFE Arena - Orlando

Opener “Night Club” was interesting but a strange pairing. Then on to “Tricky”... I’m a long time fan. I really liked the set which had a cool, laid back vibe and lots of atmosphere. But, of course, as the headliners, a perfect circle was the highlight of the night. Playing 8 songs from their newest release, “Eat the Elephant”, and a some classic favorites... apc put forward a strong set. This tour, they recently started adding “Judith” back to the setlist (first time since 2011, I think.) The crowd went nuts when they played it. Great stage set and just enough ambient lighting to make out the band. Being the day before Halloween, Maynard was dressed as Beetlejuice and kept telling the crowd to say his name. The sound mix was excellent and Maynard has never been in better form and neither has this band. If they come play near you, you should do what it takes to be there!

by TheMasons on 11/2/18CFE Arena - Orlando

Really love Tool, so going to see Perfect Circle was the next best thing. Fab show just wish the band had more light on them so you could see Maynard dressed up in a Beetle Juice Halloween costume!

    APC rocked

by godriguez on 11/2/18CFE Arena - Orlando

a perfect circle was amazing, this being the second time seeing them i was once again blown away by their presence, sound , and visual presentation. they had a strict no camera/cell phone policy for the show and i wish more bands would do this as it was so refreshing not looking at the back of someone's cell phone screen the entire show as too often is the case anymore at shows

    Apc ftw

by BigPiSH on 11/2/18CFE Arena - Orlando

It was a very good show. I was never made aware of who was opening for them until they came out. MJK had a beattlejuice mask on but I couldn't see it from my seat I just thought he had an afro. He stayed in the shadows the whole show but u could make out a dark figure dancing in the back round. His voice sounded off at first but once he got warmed up he showed he has been blessed with a voice of a god. I was bummed they didnt play 3 libras or orestes but it was still a damn good show.

    APC killed my buzz

by JasonHearn1970 on 10/31/18The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion presented by Huntsman - Woodlands

The entire mainstage shows killed it...all upbeat and high energy and Scott Stapp brought back way old school memories from the numerous other times I saw Creed back in the day....APC was dark and gloomy and I was even in the pit all day....we left during the 1st song and went back to our hotel across the street...and had a blast all night at the bars by the hotel...
