I personally didn't attend, but i bought the tickets for my dad and a friend as his 50th birthday gift. The reviews of my dad & his friend was that the event was AWESOME. He mentioned the Stylistics stole the show.

The show was great, a little short for my taste. I would have liked to hear more.

  • Stylistics were wonderful.

The concert in itself was great. However, the Sytlisics along with Bloodstone took the show. I could have just watched them all night long. Thanks for a marvelous time and to think I only 2 or 3 on the majority of the songs, however, I know every single word of them. Again thanks for a wonder night.

  • Stylistics were unforgetable

Bloodstone should have had more songs. Marveletts vocials could not be heard clearly. Overall show was average.

  • Took me back

by MissNormi on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The 70's soul jam was amazing to me. Even though there were problems with the sound systems, the groups performed professionally. Although I don't think each artist was allotted enough time to perform. All the acts brought back memories of what I was doing when I heard these songs for the first time. RIP Bill Davis. Love your oldest daughter.

  • Stylistics Forever!

    by Kool2Kat on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This show was phenomenal! I have been a fan of the stylistics since I was a teenager and this was my first Live stage performance to see them, but it will not be my last! The band was great, the acoustics were wonderful and my seat was just right. I did not miss a thing, I was even afraid to go the washroom for fear of missing something. Only a bad Chicago snow storm could keep me away from the next concert, See You There!

  • 70 Soul Jam

    by 212songs on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great show and the songs brought back many memories from the 70s and the 80s. Amazed that the groups still sound the same as when they were young and getting started. Group enjoyed having the audience sing along.

  • Stylistics versus Bloodstone

by POPSLEX on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Which of these two super soul groups of the soulful seventies would you think could still rock the house?Well let me tell you BOTH of them were awesome, and I can't wait to see them again we went "to the sky on a natural high" with Bloodstone and hope to "hurry up this way again"with the Stylistics.I have seen a lot of concerts but overall this 70's soul Jam was a knockout From Cuba Gooding Sr. and the Main Ingredients to the Emotions I was in awe!! Hopefully these type of acts will become more prevalent!!

All acts were great. It started on time. I was greatly disappointed with the Emotions. Their singing was poor. I was very happy with Bloodstone, but I needed more. Next time I would like to hear more songs.

Enjoyed all the groups. Had great flashbacks of good times back in the 70's when music was originally made.

  • Fabulous!

    by Diva411 on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My husband and I attended the 70's Soul Jam and it was an EXCELLENT show. We hated for it end and can't wait to attend another concert featuring artists from the 70's (when music was really music).

  • Lets Do It Again!!!

by Catbless on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Lets do it again, with the same groups and maybe one or two other groups. They still have it. We loved the show.

  • Love the Old School Sound

    by MJS40 on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

I selected this event to celebrate my mom's birthday. We both really enjoy hearing the sound of of old school r-n-b. All the groups were great. We really enjoy the Stylistics' dance steps they were smooth and modern. I recommend this event to everyone that love the sound of the 70's.

  • new birth "great"

    by siren5 on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The whole show was outstanding, Ray Goodman and Brown could have been a little better!

  • Stylistics took the show and ran

by Hollywud on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The entire show was the BOMB. Main Ingredient, New Birth, Bloodstone, and Ray, Goodman and Brown were great, too. The Emotions were okay, but The Stylistics stole the show. They sang songs that took me waaaay back and we LOVED IT. I would go again just to have to listen to music from the '70s again. It made me reminish about the good 'ole days and we loved it. WE HAD A BALL.

  • 70's Soul Jam was invigorating

by DoRaMeFaSo on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was more than I thought it would be. It turned out be more entertaining than was expected. My heart was touched by the 70's songs that were sang. I appreciated the boisterous enthusiasm of the crowd. Most importantly my wife and I were both pleased and we plan on venturing that way again when you stage events of this nature again. If there was a negative it was the profanity of The New Birth group the show was a classy performance but for that moment in which there was a profanity laced outburst by the New Birth group. Otherwise it was fantastic.

  • SOUL JAM WAS THE BOMB!

by MARCSTAR on 2/20/10Arie Crown Theater - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Professional in presentation! A wonderful trip down memory lane. The artist had such a great respect for each other. From start to finish a CLASS ACT!
