  • Soul jam review

    by Mary Beth on 1/3/19Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

We loved it ! Stylistics were still amazing after 50 years! I hadn’t seen them for 20 years and enjoyed it as much as I did before other then I would have loved to be closer . Last time I saw them I was at kim balls east and was in the front of a small venue . Ch- lites and others were good as well but just love everything about the stylistics ! Their new lead singer is amazing ! I hope they come again soon !

  • People were lovely, good to see other old as I am who loves

    by Don on 1/3/19Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Staff very helpful, tickets on my iPhone worked great. Show was good , could have been better if sound system was better. Could not understand the performers, at times all I heard was jumbled unintelligible noise. I enjoyed being in the moment with my age group reflecting on the wonderful years of my youth. Overall, a good time , and cost much more than the price of the tickets. Hotel, taxi to and from venue due to parking safety on site.. my wife spent two hundred or more on clothing to fit the occasion. Would love to do the show more often, maybe sometime in Monterey California, we’ve have the Jazz and Blues festivals here and a million motel due to our tourist destination. Make a Monterey package and I will be there. Thank for the opportunity to see those performers in person for the first time in my 67 years.

This show was perfect for Valentine’s Day! Peaches and Herb opened the show and the Stylistics closed the show beautifully.

The 70's Soul Jam was absolutely amazing! Their voices are still heavenly and the songs simply bring back wonderful memories. They still know how to work a crowd with their enthusiasm and timeless dance moves!!! I would definitely go again!!!

  • Bloodstone Stole the Show!!!!!

    by ZZZZ99 on 2/20/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Harry Williams was simply amazing!!! It was such a pleasure to see Bloodstone in concert after many, many moons. The Stylistics! What can you say? 50 years of fantastic, great music which is timeless!!!! I don't understand why the Emotions were not properly introduced, but good music is good music. I am certainly looking forward to next year's show.

  • Yay Stylistics

by Blueberrie on 2/20/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I loved the show. I saw the Stylistics at a smaller R & B Legends Concert in Hershey PA, but it is a difference seeing such a group at a venue like the Beacon. They sang everything, and really gave a great performance. Harold Melvin's Blue Notes, I would say the same comment, loved the Red Converses. I was very pleased seeing the Emotions, and for her daughters to be her back-up, what a blessing. I would recommend seeing these older groups. The fire is still there, and it brings great memories. To the Groups, "Thanks for giving us another chance to see your acts so superbly performed". Absolutely Loved It!!!!

Had no idea Eban Brown was no longer with the Stylistics. Wish it would have been announced before hand.

Overall it was a great show however, we arrive 20 minutes before the start yet we miss 1/2 hour of the show. All due the security checking.

  • oldies but goodies for sure.

by Godsfavorite on 2/20/18Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I've been attending the 70's Soul Jam for over a decade now. It's always a good show. This time however there weren't as many groups performing and the main guy from the Stylistics (Mr. Brown) was not in attendance. The replacement was ok, but, not the same. I want the old guy back and would love more artists added to the show.
