6LACK in Concert
A live 6LACK (pronounced "black") performance is an exercise in precision. On stage, the heightened sensations from the already emotionally packed music by the East Atlanta alt-R&B singer take on new life. It's like the dimly lit studios that 6LACK's syrupy music was shaped in, but this time with cosmic visuals to boot. On tracks like megahit "Prblms," the workhorse artist creates a shared experience with the audience and extracts more musicality than one might anticipate. At any point, 6LACK may be joined by live drums, synth drums, dueling synths, a guitar player, and a DJ to create the vibes from his Grammy-nominated debut album ‘FREE 6LACK,' his much-hyped sophomore release ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' and prominent singles featuring artists like Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, and Banks. The sultry atmospheres 6lack created early on got him tabbed to tour with The Weeknd in 2017, and now with his solo road tour, From East Atlanta With Love, 6LACK is out to prove himself as a bona fide singular force.
6LACK Background
Born in Maryland, but raised in East Atlanta, 6LACK (né Ricardo Valentine) is forever tied to where he came from. His name, in fact, is a reference to both the sixth month of the year (he was born in June) and East Atlanta's Zone 6, where he grew up. A numerologist of sorts, 6LACK even named his daughter Syx. He came up in the battle rap scene, going toe-to-toe with Young Thug at one point, before signing to Flo Rida's IMG/Strong Arm Records in 2011. But despite a considerable following, he only fully emerged beyond the SoundCloud rap ranks when he signed with Interscope in 2016 and released the breakthrough ‘FREE 6LACK' in 2017, which peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200. He's been on the up ever since, with his follow-up album, ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' peaking at #3 on the U.S. Billboard chart, #2 on the U.S. R&B chart, and getting nine tracks onto the R&B Chart in 2018 alone.
Amazing opening acts! Awesome production and 6lack was phenomenal! Guests surprises were so great as well :). Getting to general admission was well thought out and organized- I especially appreciate that!

I had an exceptional time. 6lack was great. He even turned around to sign my hoodie which I appreciate very much. The venue was clean and the staff was helpful.
I have never been to a R&B concert before this one, went with my niece who loves 6lack. I grew up on Akon so that was nice. I will say that hearing all the awareness for mental health was impressive. I like the fact that he shared before every song expressing how much being able to see a counselor helped him find his voice. I am a mental health/substance abuse counselor so it made me feel encouraged to know that some people do get it and express themselves and get better.

overall a great concert, truly. the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the opening acts. salute to 6lack and the artists that opened up for him but for me i was bored during their performances, but im open to listening to their music catalog in the near future. everything else was great especially the special guest.
6lack really brought the show out. Everyone was signing along or bobbing their head. Hope to see him come back to Orlando again
6lack delivered a fantastic performance, seamlessly navigating through his old and new albums, creating a captivating vibe. However, Jordan Ward's was engaging; perhaps giving him fewer songs or placing him before Quinn would have improved the overall experience. Once 6lack took the stage, the atmosphere became truly great.
This was a worse show I have ever been to I will never buy a ticket to go and see this performer again. The show did not star on time, I feel as if he gas lighted us with his opening acts. This whole show was unprofessional and I will never buy tickets to see him again. I honestly feel as if this should have been a free concert the way that it was handle.

6lack’s stage presence and energy alone were top tier but Jordan ward matched it and they put on an amazing show, I’m a day one fan and when I say I was smiling like a proud auntie lol. Speechless truly.
It would've been nice for the doors to actually open on time along with the show starting on time. We sat for over an hour in what was just silence while the arena filled up. As many concerts as I've been to before, djs or openers begin immediately to get the crowd pumped up but this happened way too late into the show. Once he started performing it was definitely worth the wait but for future performances they should really be more organized.
One of the best concerts I've been to, I knew I had to pull up on him when he popped up at Dreamville. QUIN and Jordan Ward were also amazing and I def checked them out after the show. Much love <3333333
I have been looking forward to just really being in 6lack’s presence just explore his genuine energy. His music got me through a lot, and i just had to validate feeling his energy all throughout his content. He is such a great spirit to be around. It was an honor. 🖤
I absolutely loved the show and the special guests that were there. Quin was an amazing opener who set the mood. Jordan Ward had amazing energy which hyped up the crowd and did a wonderful job. As a first-timer going to a 6lack concert, this man did not disappoint. Overall, fantastic performance. Congrats 6lack and Happy 6lack day!

6LACK put on an incredible show! His set alone was beyond my expectations and let me tell you they were pretty high to begin with. But the show was organized so well. Quin opened with a thoughtful fun and inviting set, followed by a WILD set from Jordan Ward! Both artist are people you should keep tabs on (MAGIC) Then DJ Tonee got the entire arena jumping with his set- the besttt vibes for sure. Who was then joined by 6lack to perform a variety of songs from his four collections of music. I am a long time fan so I am biased, but 6lacks music touches every emotion and encourages you to evolve as a spiritual being. This was the very best concert I have ever attended. I could not have asked for a better experience.
6lack definitely did not disappoint!! He put on a great show and gave his fans an amazing night.
I have been listening to 6lack since 2017 & his music was what guided me through my journey of becoming who i am today. Every album dropped at the what felt like the perfect moment for me when I felt misunderstood and lost. When I seen that he was going on tour I just knew I had to be there. I wanted him to be my first concert and I am glad that I made that choice. The show was everything I could dream of and more. His aura was pure, enlightening and refreshing. I hope to see him again soon.
