6LACK in Concert
A live 6LACK (pronounced "black") performance is an exercise in precision. On stage, the heightened sensations from the already emotionally packed music by the East Atlanta alt-R&B singer take on new life. It's like the dimly lit studios that 6LACK's syrupy music was shaped in, but this time with cosmic visuals to boot. On tracks like megahit "Prblms," the workhorse artist creates a shared experience with the audience and extracts more musicality than one might anticipate. At any point, 6LACK may be joined by live drums, synth drums, dueling synths, a guitar player, and a DJ to create the vibes from his Grammy-nominated debut album ‘FREE 6LACK,' his much-hyped sophomore release ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' and prominent singles featuring artists like Khalid, Ty Dolla $ign, and Banks. The sultry atmospheres 6lack created early on got him tabbed to tour with The Weeknd in 2017, and now with his solo road tour, From East Atlanta With Love, 6LACK is out to prove himself as a bona fide singular force.
6LACK Background
Born in Maryland, but raised in East Atlanta, 6LACK (né Ricardo Valentine) is forever tied to where he came from. His name, in fact, is a reference to both the sixth month of the year (he was born in June) and East Atlanta's Zone 6, where he grew up. A numerologist of sorts, 6LACK even named his daughter Syx. He came up in the battle rap scene, going toe-to-toe with Young Thug at one point, before signing to Flo Rida's IMG/Strong Arm Records in 2011. But despite a considerable following, he only fully emerged beyond the SoundCloud rap ranks when he signed with Interscope in 2016 and released the breakthrough ‘FREE 6LACK' in 2017, which peaked at #34 on the Billboard 200. He's been on the up ever since, with his follow-up album, ‘East Atlanta Love Letter,' peaking at #3 on the U.S. Billboard chart, #2 on the U.S. R&B chart, and getting nine tracks onto the R&B Chart in 2018 alone.

First, I’d like to say thank you to 6lack, Quiń, Emily, Aries, Trizzy, Chris, Slim, David, DJ Tonee, and anyone else that I may be forgetting. Many people don’t realize that it takes a team to support the artist, and every single person I met was kind, considerate, and just very effing cool. 6lack, thank you so much for making this special for Brianna, we will both remember this forever. She is a 16 year old college student (deans list), that works hard and this was such an inspiring experience for her. Quiń, you are a very special person (beautiful voice, vibe, and spirit), and I want you to know, that my niece did not shut up about you all the way home...I am still getting text messages to request more pictures...as if 700 wasn’t enough! To the fans reading this review: My niece and I were allowed backstage. FOR THE ENTIRE SHOW. This was the first concert that we’d ever been too. And she is his biggest fan, and I’m also a huge-huge fan. Being from South Florida, I’ve been around and seen many famous people but 6lack is different. His spirit is loving, kind, and chill...his work is poetry to music. Even the venue staff remarked about how different he is than ANY other artist that’s played there. Magnificently special and caring towards his fans. I’ll definitely be at the Atlanta show during the next tour.
6lack was awesome to watch live. He's very human and it made me feel like I mattered being there. His songs are great, of course, and the band and dj were amazing as well. I had THE BEST night of my life singing every word to every song lol meeting him simply made my night a billion times better (: thanks
Best Concert I've Ever Been To. Music And Drinks Were Great. The Venue Was Very Convient.
So humble and sweet and even better LIVE. One of the best experiences
10/10 would recommend, his throat was sore so he didn’t sing much but the crowd helped with that part.
That was one of the best shows I have been too..The meet in greet made it even better. The premium setting charged by the venue is ridiculously too high though
Venue was dope. 6lack, Summer Walker were even better live. Deante Hitchcock had some fire too. Amazing concert!
6LACK is an amazing performer he gets emotional and hype and its such an amazing experience!!
Okay, I have been following this guy for sometime now. And it was so exciting to see him up close and personal at this venue. The place got crowded fast (didn't help that we got there late whoops) but worth every minute we were there. Beginning opening artists apparently took a long long time to get through. By the time we were there, there was still another 30 min of wait time for 6lack to come out. The performance itself was so good!! Intimate, dark in corners, and extremely loud acoustics where the audience itself made over half the sound in the hall. Amazing. Feels like 1 million people were in there. 6lack is an excellent performer. would love to see him again. Great visuals, and again very intimate with the crowd.
I love 6lack, and honestly i was very happy with his performance and just everything was great, music and the people as well. He needs to come back soon ASAP
6LACK is worth seeing no matter the wait, rain, or shine.
6lack put on one hell of a show!!! The show was worth more than what the tickets costs!! Def would have paid more to see it, that’s how good it was!!
Was our first time in the venue, it was raining really hard and they took forever to let people in, aside from that. It was great, we had great view to the stage and the show was incredible.
The show was amazing. However it took almost two hours for the show to start once inside the venue. And then about 40 mins between sets
I've been to almost 50 concert and 6lack concert thus far has been the best!! Want to see again!!
I have seen many artist live, and 6lack is definitely at the top of my list of performers! He put on an amazing show and I will go back to see him on his next tour for sure!
